WIFI Icon Missing In Master Radio Control UI

Okay, after putting up with this issue for a couple few months or so, I decided it's time to fix this issue... Well nothing seems to work, I've updated both drivers for the wireless LAN adapter. I also had an issue with Access Connections, so I updated it along with Power Manager, hot key functions and communications as well for the heck of it...
Nothing seems to fix the issue, I still don't have individual control of my wireless radio, it just randomly quit showing up one day... Since it doesn't show up in the master control, I also can't select "Manage Wireless Radio..." when right clicking on AC... Every time I bring my computer out of standby, I have to hit the F9 key to bring up the master radio control. It shows the master control is already on, but if I turn it off and then back on it starts to connect and work again...
I almost forgot to mention I have an eGPU setup with a PowerColor Radeon HD 6850. I just tested this to see if it was causing my problems. I restarted my computer with the eGPU off, that way the computer would re-enable and use the iGPU. (Radeon HD 4250 Mobility) Well fortunately and yet unfortunately my eGPU is what was causing the radio control to not work correctly. So I updated the eGPU's display driver to the latest version which is 8.91, and the catalyst version 11.11 came with it, that fixed one of three problems...
Now at the welcome screen you have to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to log on, that was just one thing that disappeared while using the eGPU... But the main problem with the master radio control still exists... Also the AMD Vision Engine Control Center says there's no compatible display driver installed, it does it with both the current and previous eGPU's display driver. So that's also another problem it still has, which might be related to the master radio control issue.
Here's a picture of the Master Control with it missing the individual control:
It's a modified Edge 15 0302-44U
AMD Phenom II X4 N970 2.2 GHz (Originally Athlon II X2 P340 2.2 GHz)
8 GB RAM
iGPU: Radeon HD 4250 Mobility
eGPU: PowerColor Radeon HD 6850
Win 7 Pro (64-bit)
 BIOS Ver. 2.24 (Latest)

Thank you. This solution works perfect.

WiFi icon missing on status bar.  WiFi OK.  iPad 3rd.

Same here. 3rd gen iPad  latest ios. The wifi is connected but instead of having the wifi icon it shows the LTE. I can turn data off and still have Internet connection on the wifi but the icon is missing. I did do a reboot and it fixed it for a while but has done it again.
I'm not sure when this started. I just happen to notice it a few days ago. Could it have anything to do with new year? Maybe somehow linked to the "do not disturb" bug, which I'm experencing as well but understand that it should correct itself on the 7th.

When I first got my phone a "wifi" icon showed on the top right of the screen when I was surfing to show it was using the Wifi and not GPRS.   Whilst it still appears to be using the wifi, this icon no longer shows. Does anybody know how I get it back as it is useful to easily know whether it is using wifi or GPRS.

I would try another restore of the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. Maybe something went wrong in the process. Make sure everything works before applying any updates and adding any hardware or software.
Then add things carefully, rebooting Windows and testing the USB and audio at each step.
    Please note this.
The only info windows gives me for the sound card is that it from Microsoft... with a driver version of 6.1.7601.17514....which naturally doesn't really help me since I have no idea what card or mobo I have . Is there any way for me to find out what I need other than opening up my laptop?
Every one of them lists my mobo simply as a Toshiba motherboard, with no audio card information. Which I'm assuming that is because it has an internal sound processor. My problem is that none of the properties, or ANYTHING I try, will give me information on what I need to fix this...
All of the latest drivers for your model are easily found here. This one is for the sound.

  • TS1398 Why does my iPad2 not display the WiFi icon?

Why does my iPad2 not display the WiFi icon? I have implemented ALL of the troubleshooting tips, but my WiFi icon is still missing, and it will NOT recognize the internet connection that I know to work on my computer and iPhone.

    Try the following:
    1. Reset the AirPlay devices
    2. Reboot the router
    3. Reboot the iPad
Note: The AirPlay icon is now in the Control Center

  • TS4611 exlaimation mark in wifi icon

I have a macbook air purchased last fall.  Since I came back from a one-week trip around Christmas, I have been unable to connect to my home wifi network.  There is an exclaimation mark in the wifi icon.  I have several other devices (mac, iphone, ipad, pc), and most of them work fine - except my son's macbook pro and my wife's iPad.  We tried several recommended solutions - "forgetting" the network and re-establishing the connection.  I looked online for possible solutions, but so far, no luck.  What is going on?  Does anyone have any idea?

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, restart the computer and try again. If there's no change, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click  Applyand test.
If there's still no connection, and if you have control of the router, compare its settings to Apple's recommendations. Some third-party routers may be incompatible in 802.11b/g/n radio mode. Try setting the mode to 802.11n only.

MBA and iPad is on same wifi network.

I have same problem. 3 iPads in the house + iMac. Airdrop works just fine except on mine. Mine simply doesn't show Airdrop anywhere. Tried every suggestion on the boards....but I don't even see an Airdrop icon....not on control panel, not under general - restrictions...nowhere.

  • Airplay Icon missing from iTunes 11.0.2.26 (PC) and Genius Sidebar

After upgrading to iTunes 11.0.2.26 my Airplay icon is missing. I've tried the simple fix that reportedly works where you switch to mini player, see the Airplay icon and then it stays when you switch to normal mode.
Firstly the icon does appear but it is grayed out and only pops up a volume control. It does not detect, display, or allow you to select output devices, Second, it is still missing from the normal size window.
This has been tried with and without restarting iTunes as well as reinstalling iTunes. I'd go for a downgrade but then it fails to work with the new iPads at all. I discovered that with my first iPad mini where it required an iTunes upgrade.
    Genious Sidebar
I figured Id just downgrade to 10.6.3 to get the genius sidebar back afterwards. WRONG, it will not synch or do anything without the newer versions of the iTunes software. Genius sidebar was the best thing about the software and they kept taking it away, brought it back for a few versions, then took it away again. It was and remains my favorite way to shop for new music. The remaining so called genius functions are just plain lame.
Airplay Icon Missing from Itunes on PC
I can hit my Airplay devices such as Apple TV and Zeppelin Air with iPads, iPods, and iPhones. Just not from the PC Console where is previously enjoyed it the most. So I know the devices are fine. They are all on the same physical wired and wireless network. Even when I put the Zeppelin on the wired LAN there is no Airplay icon in iTunes on the PC.

  • Why does using a digital connection from headphones out on a Mac into a stereo disable the master volume control on the Mac?

When you use an analog connector, it does not disable the master volume on the Mac. It's only when you use a digital connector, and it's ALL digital connectors. It still allows you to use the iTunes volume control but, when you stream anything else on the web on your computer, you have to use the stereo's volume control because the master volume control on the Mac has been disabled. Does anyone know why?

I had the same problem, instead of logging in the router with the iMac (impossible) I did it with my iPad, I guess you can do the same with an iPhone.
-Disconnect the iPad from your wifi network and connect it to the TP-Link repeater.
-Open the web browser (I use chrome) be sure you don't have any other open tab, just the one to access tptlinkextender.net
-The configuring page opens, from there follow the steps of detecting your network and adding the password.
*If your MAC address is hidden it'll appear without name, in that case you have to configure it manually (write the name on the space for that)
Now go, be happy and do good.

  • "X" in the wifi icon of the toolbar

Similar to "exclamation" mark that others have seen in the wifi icon in the toolbar, I am getting an "X" within wifi icon and cannot add wifi in settings. Has anyone had this issue that can help?
    I am running a mid-year 2011 MacBook Air with 1.7 Intel Core i5 / 4GB ram / 128GB of storage.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Open the Network pane in System Preferences. A list of available network services appears on the left. If Wi-Fi is in the list, select it, then from the popup menu labeled with a gear icon at the bottom of the list, select
              Make Service Active
    Click Apply.
If Wi-Fi is not in the service list, click the plus-sign button at the bottom of the list, and then select Wi-Fi from the  Interface menu in the sheet that drops down. Click Create, then Apply.
If there is a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your administrator password to unlock the settings.
If the above steps don't solve the problem, continue.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Restart the computer and recreate your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • CS4 Extended - Some Icons missing

    Hi there,
there are some icons missing regarding the control if the opened files ( see attached image link ).
I tried reinstall but without success.
    http://img383.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iconsle0.jpg
    ANy ideas?
    regards,
    malojo

I had the same problem. It also caused some issues in CS3 with the selection tools.
Remove Nik software if it's present in your plugins folder. For me the specific folder that fixed it was named "penpalette." Once I deleted this the icons came back and the program worked much better and more smoothly.

  • [Solved] Gnome 3 Shell - Icons Missing After Update

After my last update session, some icons went missing in Gnome. Even more unsettling, only some are missing. From what I can tell, my application icons haven't gone anywhere, but things such as minimize, restore, close, etc. are 404. Here's a photo to explain: https://vps.nullh.net/uploads/gnome-icon-issue.png I also noticed nvidia is included in the last update. I searched the forums, but all of the other problems seemed to be different problems (e.g. application icons were all bunched up/missing, desktop icons "missing", etc.) I feel like I should probably have more icons in the folders, too, but I haven't looked in there before the problem to be sure. Also, Alt+F2 "r" doesn't make a difference, the shell reloads but the icons are still AWOL. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

I ran gnome-shell --replace to try to get some logs out of it. Apparently, it doesn't know how vector files work any more.

  • Reconcil. acct is missing in master record, correct master record

    Dear Experts,
i created the intercompany billing document.
but it has not generated any accounting document.
it is giving the error Reconcil. acct is missing in master record, correct master record.
In my customer master record i have filled up reconcil acct.
and now if i want to made any changes in that i am not able to do that.
so now what can be the alternate solution for that.

    hello, friend.
you mentioned that the field for recon account (company code view) has been greyed out in change mode?  it is possible your FI has set this field as display only (text control) while in change mode.  please check with your FI consultant and if so, the field should be made modifiable so you can make changes.
if this is not possible, then cancelling the intercompany transaction becomes a likely option.
    please post feedback again.

Have you attempted to reset the SMC? That would be the first step. Hold the left control, option, shift key and the power button for about 5 seconds and release. Then try to reboot. Might as well reset the PRAM as well. Hold command, option, P, R on start up until the machine restarts. If that doesnt' have any affect we'll have to dig deeper into a potential hardware failure.
If this method doesn't work, check the webcam that will tell the problem is on the iSight & WiFi cable. If your webcam is ok, then it'll be the WiFi card problem. Hope it can help ;-)
