Wifi is still greyed out after quite a few weeks.

I first contacted O2 online and tried everything with them. They said to contact Apple as it sounded like a software issue. I made an appointment with the Apple store. The guy who dealt with me said that because my warranty had now run out (still got another 12 months to go untill my contract ends), I was unable to have my 4S replaced. Instead I could pay £120 for them to fix it. I decided not to do this because if it was a software problem then surely Apple should be responsible. I am now constantly stuck in 3G and it is using up all my data. I am absolutely disgusted that Apple are not prepared to replace my phone. Does anybody have any ideas of my options?

If you go to the Apple store, they can replace it for a fee since this will be an out of warranty replacement. That is your only option as you know

Wifi is still dropping out after 6.1.2 update

Recently received a new 4s from the apple store due to moisture damage on original 4s which was very much bug free, but this phone has major wifi problems. Basically it does not scan for wifi connections. It drops out all the time, the wifi tab is greyed out sometimes and cannot connect to a network under settings. I have reset the network settings many times, have rebooted many times, sometimes it works intermittently, but not for long as it then transfers over to Edge or 3G. Very frustrating.

I was having this problem on my iPhone 4S as well while all of our other devices were not. I changed my router channel setting to manual & selected the highest number channel setting available. It solved the problem for my iPhone & all other devices connected to the network are still fine..

I have done a system restore (via backup and not a new phone) to my iphone 4s to try to get my wi-fi button to toggle again. It is greyed out and won't respond! I would love to fix this. Does anyone have any ideas?

IPad wifi and Bluetooth greyed out after iOS5 update

After updating to iOS5 on my iPad my WiFi and Bluetooth were greyed out like the update has caused a hardware failure on the radio side. My SIM and 3G still work (not that I use it) but I can not even choose wifi or bluetooth in settings app as they are greyed out.
In Wifi it says "No Wi-Fi" and Bluetooth it says "Unavailable"
I wasn't using it a lot so just forgot about it for a while as it sat gathering dust being an expensive paperweight thinking that the next software (5.0.1) update would sort it all out. It doesn't. I have a 64GB iPad 3G with no wifi and as I am living abroad the 3G is useless to me (though only use the ipad at home on my wirless network anyway, or not as the case is now!!)
I have restored, factory restored, cleaned installed new software, everything I can think of but still there is no wifi and no bluetooth.
Has anyone else had this issue? My (very expensive) iPad is now next to useless!!

Loops and Instruments still greyed out after purchase.

I paid for the extra loops and instruments on my iPad mini quite a few months ago. I just got a new mac and have tried everything to unlock them on here but nothing is working. It says they are in my purchases list but it just says GarageBand has been installed and won't let me do anything else. I've tried restoring the purchases but it says it can't do it. Not sure what to do now.

The extra loops for Garageband on the iPad are a different purchase than the extra loops and instruments for GarageBand on the Mac. If you want the additional content on the Mac as well, you have to purchase it also on the Mac. Have you done that?

Can I go back to my 3gs from my 4s? Wifi still greyed out after all resets.

I have had it with all the resets and restores I have performed to get wifi on my 4s. Out of warantee but still8 months on my contract. My old 3gs is available. How do I go back to it until my contract expires?

First, you don't have a 5+ year old 3GS. The 3GS has only been around for under 4 years. In fact, 5 years ago there were NO iPhones; the original iPhone (2 generations before the 3GS) came out on June 29, 2007 - not quite 5 years ago. The 3GS was released June 19, 2009.
That aside, you can sync multiple phones to one computer - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495. boogeyman is wrong. My WIFI greyed out after 6.1 update, then my power buttion failed. Basically this update ruined my phone which was working perfectly. Does anyone have any soultions to these problems? Thank you.

I cannot turn on my wifi and have tried everything its still greyed out

I reset network settings, reset all settings and made sure my phone software was up to date however it is still greyed out and i cannot switch it back on. is there anything else i can do? or do i need to take it back to the shop

Is this true for all WiFi areas or only at home? If all WiFi then it needs to go to the Apple store genius bar for testing by the techs.

well, you know how it is - glitches that usually resolve with a hard reset etc
then a restore. then a factory restore....then ..... nothing fixes so I try the next step with apple online - fill out my serial number and find it is a couple of weeks out of date - and then with the holidays who has time to get to the apple store? this is my second 4s handset as it is - first one the glass cracked from L to R without any impact/damage etc - they changed it out automatically because it's a 'known fault' apparently - so technically, this handset is only 6 months old - but warranty is from original purchase date -
never imagined it would turn out to be a warranty issue with the phone - and hey maybe when I get a chance to go to the apple store they'll be sympathetic, but I won't be able to get there till at least Jan 4th as it is. Hi today i update to IOS 5 on my Verizon iPhone 4 and now my wifi doesnt work. When i go to configure my wifi place next to were it says wifi in the settings is greyed out and says "no wifi". i obviously cant tap it and configure it. I dont know what's going on! it was working on IOS 4.2.10 literally 2 minutes before updating and now it doesnt work! i have NOT dropped my iPhone or spilled anything on it. The update seems to have "killed" my wifi. if anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated seeing as to how i dont have unlimited data and need wifi

I'm having the same problem with my AT&T iPhone 4.
After installing ios5, WiFi was greyed out in settings. I turned my phone off and back on, and wifi was back. It saw my 2 routers, and allowed me to input my WEP passwords for them, but then, when I went to an app that used wifi, Safari, it wouldn't connect, and listed "Not Connected" Going back into WiFi prefs, it appeared to be searching for networks, but didn't find any. Not my 2, nor any of the neighbors. I usually see 3-4 networks other than my own.
Turn it off and on again, WiFi greyed out again.
Reset all settings - Wifi back, but with the same results as the first time.
Reset network settings - Wifi still greyed out.
I see this has happened at other new iOS releases, but never to me. Hopefully there will be a patch soon. I do have unlimited data, but dang 3G is slow.
I'm going to back up my phone this morning, and do a restore to factory settings, and see what that does, besides totally screw up all my apps.
