Wifi issue: always turned off on startup

I think this is an OS bug: the wifi is always off on startup, even if it was on before shutdown/restart. It is not life-threatening, but a sign of some housekeeping needed in the OS.
Or I should just delete some plist?
(Reading the cries about 10.5.6, I start having the Microsoft feeling -- these are not bugs, guys, these are features...)

  • Wifi won't turn off during stand by

    Hello,
although I said so in in Wifi setup ("always turn off wifi during stand by"), wifi will not go off in standby. All account sync is disabled, all stamina options are disabled. Also, there should be no apps downloading or connecting to the internet.
    Can someone help?
    Thx a lot

Yes and no, if you sync multiple accounts and you had them set up to sync every few minutes, then your phone wont be idle

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • Creative Zen ver1.21.01 - Screen doesn't always turn off when in lock m

The screen doesn't always turn off when we lock the player.
It's a random problem, maybe related to some screens only.
When playing songs, if we lock the player, the screen fades out a little bit and will turn off automatically after 2-3 seconds. But in some screens (try the System/Information by example), it always remains in faded-mode, even after more than 5 minutes.
    Thanks.

It dit it again yesterday, when my album finished to play (in lock mode), I opened my case and discovered that the screen was still on.
Maybe something in the process of the playing makes the the screen turn on automatically. I usually?use playlists, maybe the screen turns on when the?play stop?
I know that's not a very important issue, but for me it's "buggy"!
I have my player since week and it froze 3-4 time, so yes I had the "chance" to use the wonderfull reset button!

  • How do i turn off the startup sound on macbook pro?

how do i turn off the startup sound on macbook pro?

You don't. You may find some third-party software that will, however. Try Auto Mute.
    Alternatively, you can try this:
I think this is the best and simplest solution. Open a Terminal window and type (or copy/paste) the following to turn down the startup noise:
         sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume="%00"
    Press RETURN.
And to restore it to the original value type:
         sudo nvram -d SystemAudioVolume
    Press RETURN.
    That's all folks.

  • Turning off the startup chime?

Anyone knows how to turn off the startup chime? It's a bit embarassing if I start my Mac during classes...

    You're welcome anytime.
Please do keep in mind that the startup sound isn't just there to 'annoy'
It's more vital reason for excistence is to inform you when there are problems during startup, like bad RAM or the like.
So once in a while or when not at school, you should enable it again, just to make sure everythings still ok.
Have Fun and thanks for the star.

  • How come when i use skype on my ipad air, it keeps dropping out? My bluetooth is always turned off also

So i have an ipad air and during the past month or so, the amount of dropouts when using skype has skyrocketed to at least 3 or more dropouts a day. It can't be my internet because whenever it disconnects i go to chrome to check if my internet is working. I've looked on a few websites and so far the only solution was to turn off the bluetooth. But the thing is, my bluetooth is always turned off.
Is there something i can do about this?

    Hi geminigay,
You state that your music plays at random times even if it isn't open. Also your earbuds are plugged in most of the time.
Does this happen if the earbuds are not connected?
Are your earbuds the ones with the remote and mic?.  If so, they can start the music playing even if the Music app is not running.
Use an Apple headset - iPhone
The Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic (iPhone 5 or later) and the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic (iPhone 4s) feature a microphone, volume buttons, and the center button, which lets you answer and end calls or control audio and video playback, even when iPhone is locked.
Use the center button to control music playback.
Pause a song or video:  Press the center button. Press again to resume playback.
Note that applies to the iPad as well.
See if the remote is being activated.
    Regards,
    Nubz

  • My iPhone 6 always turn off & goes in recovery mode

Last week my iPhone 6 started to just shut off by its self. It connected it with iTunes and it said the phone is in recovery mode. I held the power button and home screen button and it turned back on. Since then my iPhone 6 always keeps doing it. I restored it but it started again to shut off by its self. Till now i can always turn it back on by pressing the power button and home screen button but i don't think that's it's normal that my iPhone 6 does that.
    Maybe you can help me!
    greets Marion

To rule out a software issue, set it up again as new device, explained in this article:

  • Wifi connecting while turned off and on ethernet

Much the same as a lot of people I have been experiencing wifi issues, lost connections after sleep and usage speed etc, and after messing about with settings and a clean install decided to just turn off wifi and use ethernet until apple can sort out the complete mess that is OS X 10.10.
So... with Wifi turned off and ethernet connected via thunderbolt, approx every 20mins wifi turns it's self on and connects to my network for about 30 secs and then turns off. I get notified of this via little snitch and have monitored this via Network settings. I have tested this from both my existing and a new account.
Would anyone have any idea as to why this is happening?

I saw a thread like this a few weeks ago but don't remember if they reached a solution.  I'd do a search of the iPad forum and see what comes up and read through them.
    Good luck.

once the pc is idle for a while and also the monitor has a smart chip in a way of speaking will go in to sleep mode till you press the key or touch the screen if it is a touchsmart

  • Gnome 3: Screen Turns Off On Startup

I'm having so many Gnome 3 issues, sorry XD.
Ok, for this issue, when I turn on my computer, log in, I can do stuff for about 10 seconds or so until my clicks become unresponsive (i can still move mouse) and the screen slowly "turns off" / fades to black. afterwords i can move my mouse / click / type and it'll bring me to the login screen (the log in screen after suspend i believe? all it shows me is the password prompt) from where i enter my password and I have no more issues from there on.
Just curious if there's a solution for this ^^, had the same issue on my other arch 'top

I have the BIOS configured for the ATI FireGL with swapping off. I'm using the "radeon" driver.
Xorg.0.log only had a few warnings about my keyboard and mouse.
There was only one thing that made a difference from what I've tried so far. Booting to the display manager runlevel-5 and logging in and out of KDE works fine. But if I ever kill X with Alt-Ctrl-F1, the display manager never comes up and the screen stays off. OTOH, startx from runlevel-3 will always cause the monitor to turn off when I logout KDE or kill X.

  • TIP: wifi dropping? turn off auto brightness

If your wifi is dropping and causing you to have to turn wifi on/off to reestablish a connection, check your brightness setting.  Especially if you set your brightness very low, turn OFF autobrightness.  Apparemtly the brightness level is somehow related to the iPad maintaining a wifi connection.  Probably something with power levels.
iPad 1, wifi model, 4.2.1 firmware, verizon fios router.

Hi there.. we are having the same issue.  iPads, iPods all keep dropping off wifi.  We use the TimeCapsule and a bunch of airport express to extend and provide music to different locations in the house.  All very cool until the devices (recently) just started randomly dropping off wifi (including the apple TV unit we have).
All units have the latest firmware.
I have a juniper router, so are there network settings I should change on that to make sure it is not part of the problem? Something "apple" to enable?
