Wifi light doesn't blink when in use?

Hi all, 64bit Win7 X220...
As best as I can tell the little green wifi light just remains solid green -- isn't it supposed to blink when there is wifi network activity? (as my previous X60 did)
I found the blinking useful -- is there something I need to do to turn that back on?

I stand corrected! That post is about how to turn the blinking off, which most people find really annoying. But you can use the same info to turn it on if you want.
We had a lot of complaints about the blinking, which is why the default behavior changed sometime around T400.

Sleep light doesn't' blink...is this normal???

I very curious/concerned about my UBMBP 17 sleep light. It doesn't blink when sleeping. The light stays solid white when my notebook is sleeping. But funny it does blinks when I manually put it to sleep...
is this normal?

But Clay that's what I thought too that the HD isn't sleeping...but it finally did sleep and blink!
I tested it by changing to the shortest timer allowing it sleep/diplay in one minute aswell...but in reality it really took about several minutes after for it to blink....
On my UMBP 15" it doesn't do that.
nothing is connected and both are connected to power outlet with the lid open on both notebooks. Only program
running is safari and HD is checked rest when possible.

Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds or so and see if it reboots.

my wi-fi light doesn't seem to turn on, therefore the wireless internet service anywhere doesn't work. any help will be great...i have try doing everything from updating my driver to restoring setting for the computer....

If your wireless card does not appear in Device Manager, and it was not brought back by the system reset that we tried before, it may well have failed. Performing a Toshiba Recovery to return your unit to its factory default out-of-the-box setup is considered the gold standard test on whether you have actually had a hardware failure.
If you have not already done so, you should make a set of Toshiba Recovery disks for emergency back up, as directed on page 60 of your User's Guide, you'll need at least 4 DVDs. After creating the recovery disks, put them aside and run the recovery utility from the recovery parition on your HDD as instructed on page 61 of your User's Guide.
Toshiba laptops are very finicky about only using Toshiba supplied hardware drivers to work properly. That's why I recommend disabling automatic Windows Updates. When the recovery utility is setting Windows up, at some point Windows will ask 'Do you want to allow automatic Windows Updates?'. Answer 'No, I will decide later'.
Then immediately after Windows has finished being setup, click 'Start - All Programs - Windows Update', on the menu at left click on 'Change settings', under 'Important updates' click on the drop down menu at right and choose 'Never check for updates (not recommended)', and click OK.
Next, before installing any software, doing any updates or restoring your data, go into Device Manager and see if your WiFi card is now present under 'Network adapters'. If it is, then make sure the WiFi switch on the front is on, and next make sure the WiFi is enabled with the Fn+F8 key combination, finally test your WiFi connection
If you still have no WiFi in Device Manager after the recovery, then your WiFi card has failed.
Please let us know how it turns out. If everything seems to be running well, we'll have a few more things to do before finishing off.

Screen light auto turn dark when I use program/web with background dark in windows 8.1

I used HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad for 3 years.
CPU: Intel core i7-2630QM
GPU: AMD Radeon 6490m
It build in windows 7 and I manual install ( fresh install ) windows 8. It's fine. But when I upgrade to windows 8.1, it have an issue and I really hate it.
When I use "Sublime Text" ( with background is black ), the screen light is become darker. And when I back to ( e.g: a website with background is white ), the screen turn back to lighter.
I tried many ways, included 4 ways here but it's NOT WORK.
NOTE: When I used Option 1 ( upper )
1. Open PC settings, and click/tap on PC and devices on the left side
2. Click/tap on Power and sleep on the left side, and turn on or off Adjust my screen brightness automatically on the right side under Brightness.
==> It's NOT SHOW button "Adjust my screen brightness automatically". It mean: I have NO built in auto brightness sensor.
I think this issue is about AMD driver or Intel Graphic driver.
Is anybody have idea???

i grasp that after updating your system from Windows 8 to 8.1 you are having an issue with the display going dim.
You have tried some steps you located on the web but there was no change.
Windows 8 an 8.1 are not supported Operating Systems for your notebook. This does not mean they will not work only that HP has not tested it and therefore does not supply updated drivers. You would need to check the manufacturer's site for any updated drivers.

When I checked the driver page for your notebook I did notice there is a bios update, have you done that?

As a bios update does have a potential to cause damage I suggest contacting HP support for assistance with that process.

Video blinks when I use quicktime player?

When I use QuickTime PLayer to watch videos the video stops for a very little time (blinks) No matter if a movie, music video or ads.

It is blocked due to licensing, in order to mirror it would need to break DRM copy protection and this isn't legal.

When I click on a link I get sent to a bunch of other sites and the problem doesn't occur when I use windows internet browser.

When I click on a link, whether e-mail, yahoo or other search engines, E-bay, Amazon, etc. I get sent to another site. If I click back and then re-click on the original site I get sent to where I wanted to be. While I am browsing on a web page of any of the above, or other sites, I sometimes get a voice ad or possibly a video, but I can't locate it or turn it off. This does not happen when I use windows internet, or it's Google chrome internet, only with Firefox. I have used Ad aware, and Mal-bytes anti-virus but they come up blank.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Camera on iPhone4 doesn't work, when you use either the icon on the screen all you get the the shutter. I am unable take pictures. Has anyone had the same problem and are there any solutions?

The camera on my iPhone 4 isn't working and hasn't for quite sometime. I have updated the phone to IOS 6 and it hasn't made any difference.
When you use the icon that appears at the bottom of the screen or the camera icon on the main screen all you see is the camera shutter.I have tried to restore the camera and that hasn't made any difference. I have spoken to Apple support and they sent me a support site to check out, but there isn't any specific solution for my problem. Has anyone had a similar problem and is there a solution?

Orange light cont to blink when charging?

I bought my shuffle today and have installed the software and Itunes...everything that I was supposed to do....
However, I dont know if I am charging it correctly? According to the instructions both on the insert and on the website: when charging, the orange light is supposed to be continuous, not blinking. Well mine is Blinking! It has been hooked up ( with Itunes up and without) for quite a few hours, over 4.
If anyone can give me an idea as to what I am doing wrong I would be so very happy!

ORANGE, whether solid or blinking, indicates that your Shuffle is charging... BLINKING ORANGE, means that it is a) being accessed/updated by iTunes, or b) it's enabled for data and is thus regarded as a storage device by WindowsXP, or c) WindowsXP sees it as a storage device.
IF ejecting it in iTunes doesn't make it stop blinking, then quit iTunes and "Safely remove" it in the System tray.
4 hours to fully charge is actually a lowball estimate, sometimes it takes 6 or more hours, especially if you interrupt the charging cycle by removing and inserting the Shuffle from/in its dock.
Here's hoping yor Shuffle will be green, already. Further caution, DO NOT allow your computer to go to sleep or hibernate with the Shuffle attached ... this will prolong the charging time and may even discharge the Shuffle.

Aud 2 NX - Cant Select 96Khz Sampling Rate/Dolby Digital Light doesn't Illuminate when playing DV

I'm running a Audigy 2 NX (USB) on a Toshiba 240-504 Notebook through the rear USB port, the speakers I am running are Logitech X530's (A bargain if you can get them, but that's beside the point =])
I cannot select 24Bit/96Khz from the Device Control applet, I should be able to. All I can select is 24bit/48Khz.
Also, when I'm playing Dolby Digital content such as a DVD through PowerDVD, the Dolby Digital light on the card does not illuminate, is this expected behaviour? The light Illuminates if I use the product showcase demo cd though, by the way. Also, slightly off topic, does anyone know what settings I should be using for PowerDVD? Is CLMEI-2 ok?

Are your notebook using USB2.0 as those options are only available if you are using USB2.0. There's a chart in the manual also that shows these. Also, the Audigy 2 NX dolby indicator will only light up if it's decoding AC3 material. If you are using PowerDVD, you will need to config PowerDVD to use SPDIF and passthrough the AC3 signal to the sound card for decoding.

i used this router almost 2 months, it suddenly doesn't work this morning. the power light is on, the WAN light is on, but the wireless light is off. i even try to reinstall the router, it still doesn't work. the wireless light still off. can anyone tell me how to fix this? or do i have to replace this router? any suggestion on wireless router?

Why jws doesn't start when i use jsp as dynamic jnlp?

i use a jsp as dynamic jnlp to resolve the relative codebase problem,but jws can not start. while i use jnlp, there is no problem.i check the http head the jsp reterned,it seems no problem (it returns "application/x-java-jnlp-file" content type), but jws does not start and the browser opens it as a plan text. below is the http head the jsp and jnlp returned, i can not see any obvious difference that prevent jws start. hope somobody can help me, thanks.

Why do I have problems with emails loading in Yahoo? This doesn't happen when I use Safari.

Sometimes when I click on an unread email through Yahoo the message will not appear in the space it is supposed to appear in Yahoo's email program. I have to go back and click on the unread email many times before it will appear. This does not happen if I use Safari. Why does this happen in Firefox 3.6.13. It never happened in earlier versions?

hello, this sounds like an issue with adware present on your pc. please perform all these steps:
