WIFI Link 1000 Driver not signed

Downloaded an install the driver both from recovery CD and HP download driver page. Installation was successful but wifi didn't work. An error prompted saying the driver was not signed. Please advice where can i download a digitally signed driver? Thank you.

Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the driver directly from Intel. The second driver on the list is for W7 x64. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23491/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-7-

  • Is upgrading the Intel WiFi Link 5300 driver ourselves permitted?

    I obtained my T400 in November, and notice that the driver for my Intel WiFi Link 5300 wireless adapter is version 12.1.0.14 from 8/28/08.
    On the Intel Web site, I've noticed that the driver was upgraded to 12.1.2.1 on 11/24/08:
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&Inst=Yes&ProductID=3062&DwnldID=17163&strOSs=...
    Are we permitted to install the latest driver (including the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility for Windows Vista, or does this interfere with ThinkVantage Wireless Detection, etc.), or do we have to wait to see if Lenovo certifies this version?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    I think I might have figured it out.  There are two PCI Express Mini Card slots on the T400S (2801).  The shorter slot is for WiFi/WiMax cards and the longer slot is for WAN cards.  The longer 5300 cards on the market cannot be used in the longer slot.  Windows recognizes the cards but Access Connections (or maybe the BIOS) does not allow it to operate.  Can anyone verify this?
    Yes, that seems to be the case. I don't have a T400s but I do have the long Intel Wifi Link 5300 card FRU 43Y6495 in my x200. The WWAN slot is the same size as the WLAN slot on my x200. However, as you have discovered, the WLAN slot and WWAN on the T400s are different sizes. A quick check of pgs. 71-74, sections 1050 and 1060 of the T400s Hardware Maintenance Manual indicates that a half-height wifi card must be used in the half-height WLAN slot and evidently you cannot use one of the long wifi cards by utilizing the WWAN slot. So for example the Intel wifi Link 5300 card FRU 43Y6495 cannot work in your T400 but the half-height version of the Intel Wifi Link 5300 card FRU 43Y6519 would work as noted in T400s System Service Parts here. You also have a few other wifi choices listed for your type "2801" T400s.
    Have a great day. (I do not work for Lenovo)

    hey Alphapoint,
    try this, uninstall the Wifi LAN drivers. let Windows install its generic drivers.
    test your connection with the generic drivers. See if that works, then install the drivers from our support site but before you install it, go to MSCONFIG and set your unit to Diagnostic mode first before installing.

  • Intel wifi link 1000 series, how to get it working?

    Hi, I have installed arch linux on my netbook acer 1825PTZ, its wireless card is Intel wifi link 1000series, I have tried to follow the wireless setup guide on archwiki but I have not come to a conclusion...I've searched among the list of supported drivers but I am not sure if it is supported or not. So can you plz make a more accurate research? i would like to keep ndiswrapper as ultimate choice...

    Ehh... can dmesg without any options actually enable anything? Anyway, I post this in case you still get some issues.
    natostanco wrote:ehm, how I am supposed to download a package if i am installing the device for internet connection? I thought that the package was already between installation files...
    Hopefully you will be able to use ethernet, or you could download the linux-firmware package from a mirror on a different system.
    To download the package from a mirror without pacman, go to one of the HTTP addresses in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist with "$repo" swapped with "core" and $arch swapped with either i686 or x86_64. You should be able to see a link to a linux-firmware file. When you've transferred this file over to your Arch system, you install it by
    # pacman -U /path/to/package
    I avoided the Netinstall image as I suspected that I would have some major issues getting Internet connectivity. If you chose the core image, you should have the package already installed.

  • Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN not connecting

    I am having an issue getting the Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN on my HP Pavilion dv7-1275dx to connect to my wireless router (Zyxel P334WT). It would intermittently connect, then drops off for no apparent reason, and then refuses to connect for days. I contacted HP support and we spent three hours trying to fix the problem, to no avail. Strangely enough, when I stick my Netgear WG111v2 USB wireless adapter into the computer, I am able to connect to my network with no problem. The computer runs Windows Home Vista 64 bit. Thanks in advance for your help.

    ok everybody you are not the only one my pavilion dv6000 has the exact problem and i just sent it to hp to get my motherboard changed and i still have problems btw <text deleted>         Message Edited by adybotchev on 07-23-2009 01:46 AMMessage Edited by adybotchev on 07-23-2009 01:47 AMMessage Edited by WendyM on 07-23-2009 07:08 AM

    On Windows I can use either Intel's native My WiFi Technology or Connectify to share my laptop's internet connection to my Android phone (no ad-hoc) so hardware wouldn't be much of a problem. On Arch I wanted to try equivalents like hostapd.

    So according to instruction I would have not much hope. Do I need specific drivers (as I'm using the "default" installation out of the box), packages or other tweaks to get it supported?

    No, unfortunately the support for "master" (=AP) mode in the Linux module you are using was dropped by Intel some time last year. Otherwise it would be listed in the available interface modes.

  • T500 - Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN Driver

    I purchased my T500 within the first week Lenovo had it available for US consumers to order.  I was assured the machine was going to come with a WiMax card.  I gave it to my daughter to use.  We never tested WiMax since we did not have WiMax in our city until October of last year.  Came to find out, our machine did not come with a WiMax card as was promissed.  It has in it the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN card instead.  Needless to say, I no longer feel comfortable ordering from Lenovo anymore.  We got seven laptops in the house.  Five of which are ThinkPads.  However, we've moved over to Samsung after this unpleasant experience.
    Today I wanted to see if there's an updated version of the driver I'm running for my WiFi card, to my unpleasant surprise, the driver for the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN card in my T500 does not exist anywhere at www.lenovo.com.  I only see drivers for the Intel 5150 and the Intel 5350 cards.
    Does anybody out there have any idea where I can find the latest driver for the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN in my duped T500 laptop?
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    In the T500 driver matrix you will find the following entry;
    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000,
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200/ 6205,
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250,

    Ok, I found a fix.. well, people on irc did
    Download netcfg2 from the testing repo.
    then create a profile like this in /etc/network.d/yourprofilename
    CONNECTION="wireless"
    DESCRIPTION="Internet Connection Share"
    INTERFACE=wlan0
    IWOPTS="mode ad-hoc essid $ESSID channel 11"
    IP="static"
    IFOPTS="192.168.100.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.100.255"
    ESSID="khordes"
    SECURITY=none
    then add your profile to rc.conf,
    NETWORKS=(yourprofilename)
    DAEMONS=(net-profiles)
    reboot, and cross your fingers

  • Access Connections 5.02 and Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN

    Has somebody else come across that the new Access Connections 5.02 is incompatible with the Intel's 5300 AGN Wlan card deployed in ThinkPad T400? I have verified that the right driver (newest => 12.00.4000) is installed for the card in Windows XP, newest Access Connections software (5.02), Power Management Driver (/ACPI => v1.50) and Hotkey (v2.08.2008) utility.
    We use Microsoft's RIS to deploy Windows workstations with Windows XP SP3 and creating the image for our one and only T400 has been, to put mildly, tricky.
    The problem is that Access Connections (triggered through Fn+F5) is not able to power off or power on the WLAN card. It is able to work with the Bluetooth radio, but not the WLAN.
    Going through the README for Access Connections reveals T400 is one of the supported models, but Intel WiFi Link 5300 is not mentioned in the wireless adapter list. 5100 is, but not 5300. Now I'm not sure if the Lenovo's documentation is just not up-to-date, or what?
    Has anyone else been affected by this? The laptop came pre-installed with Vista SP1, but I did not even bother to load it even once, since I always just start creating RIS image for new ThinkPad models.

    The 5300 is definitely listed on some of the standard T400 configurations, and is also a selectable option on the CTO configurations, so there is no doubt that the 5300 should be a supported card for the T400.

    It's your call what you do, but my advice is to always fire up the vendor installed environment for any new configuration that comes to hand and make sure that everything works as expected before blowing it away with some other SOE.
    That establishes a baseline for what may or not be workable, which is an essential element for later troubleshooting in a custom OS load.

  • Hard-Drive not Detected load sata drivers

    Hi everyone I have a G6-1189sa notebook, I had a faulty harddrive so replaced it with the exact same drive 750GB WD, Thing is I could not save anything from the original drive ? so no recovery partitions are anything I even lost all my family photos and software.
    Ok so I done a straight swap over and went ahead installing my fresh Windows 7 x64 disk, then I got an error message saying no device detected please install driver etc etc.
    I know I need to install the sata driver for the harddrive to be detected, so I extracted the HP sata control driver to a USB pen the tried to load the driver, with the load driver option on the install disk.
    Error message saying driver is not signed !!!!   So after some reading on google I learned I had to disable the naitive sata option in the bios settings for the harddrive to be detected.
    Thing is there is not a option for this in my bios ?  unless Im missing something like an advanced bios setting.
    I even went to the Intel site and tried some of there drivers but I get the same error message driver not signed.
    So my question is ? how can I disable the native sata option if Its possible , If not how can I load the HP sata driver if its not signed.
    Its very anyoing someone even said I have to slip the drivers in and make a new home made W7 disk myself to get my pc working again what the hell, where would I start.
    Maybe I should put the laptop in the post and send it back, Ive never had so much trouble before making simple memory and harddrive exchanges.
    Any advice please people Im at my wits end, my laptop is only a few month old and its now a door stopper lol

    Hi,
    Boot into the bios and be sure that the hard drive is detected.
    Sata drivers are included in Windows 7.
    Return the bios to its default settings and use the HP Recovery Disks.  If you don't have the Recovery Disks then order them from HP. Order HP recovery Disks.

  • New Intel WIFI Link Driver Randomly cut off Internet Connection

    Two day ago I used ThinkVantage SYstem Update and installed Intel Wifi link driver (ver 13.01.1000). But since then my computer was randomly cut off internet connection, and the wireless signal strength icon on the system tray indicated no nearby wireless network. And then it powered off the wireless connection. Whatever I do, I cannot re-power on the wireless (I used Access Connection to power on the 802.11 wireless radio, but it could not be turned on and nothing happened) unless I restart the computer.
    I thought it might be the router that malfunctioned as this problem never happened before. But after I checked the router and used another notebook to test wireless connection, I was sure the router ran very well.
    Then I re-installed the TVT Access Connection (ver 5.61) and the Intel WIFI Link Driver (ver 13.01.1000) but the problem remained. Could anybody give a possible solution?
    I also noticed on Lenovo's website, the Intel wireless card driver for T61 is v13.00.0000 Windows Vista 23 Oct 2009. It's lower than what I have now. Could that be the cause?
    My ThinkPad T61 has the following configuration:
    Model: T61 8897CTO
    OS: WinVista Home Basic SP2 32bit
    Language: EN
    Wireless Card: Intel 3945 ABG
    Wireless Card Driver: 13.1.1.1 (previous one was 13.0.0.0)
    TVT Access Connection: 5.61
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi carlven,
    Anytime when wireless driver is updated, Access Connections also needs to be reistalled.
    Do this, first uninstall your wireless driver and access connections, thereafter reboot your system. Then install wireless driver first, again reboot, subsequently install access connections, reboot again.
    When installing any lenovo driver manually, keep in mind they first extract themselves to a default location in C:\Drivers..., second .exe setup must be run from that location to successfully install the drivers.
    Hope it helps.

  • Network controller& USB controller driver not found and wifi not working

    hello  I Purchased HP 15-ac025TX (M9V00PA) Notebook laptop  .  i have installed all driver from HP site here is the link  http://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/7771404/model/8326084#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1  but still netwok controller driver not found also wifi not  working  i installed blutooth drivers too . I am using window 7 sp1 (32 bit) For network controller device ID is PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_804A103C&REV_01 secondly  univeral serial bus driver(usb) controller   not found i installed all drivers from above link  also update windows  but still no solution hardware id of usb controller is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9CB1@SUBSYS_80C2103C&REV_03  and last i am unable to download  AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver. the download link not working KINDLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE THANK YOU

    Update: While the driver I knew would work has not shown up yet, I did some detective work and explored some other broadcom wireless card driver folders from some HP links, and I found one that should work for you. While it says it is for HP desktop PC's, they put the exact same wireless card form factor in a desktop PC that they do in a notebook PC. I see no reason why this driver would not work, since the setup information file contains the same hardware ID that you posted.  Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file and you can see the hardware ID you posted is supported by this driver.  x86 - Win7
