Wifi - lost packets every 5 seconds
I have MBP - running Mavericks and it fails to stay connected to my home network for more than 5 seconds. i have no issue connecting to other networks and my wife's MBP and our iphones are all connected to the same network without any issue. The connectivity is just lost after 5 seconds, tried restarting the modem/router and the MBP with no use. Cleaned up the connection from the keychain/network and re-configured the network with no use. Sometimes, the network wouldn't even get configured with a connection time out error. I understand from other MBP owners threads that this issue has been existing since a couple of years, but I can't waste any more time troubleshooting and hoping someone has a solution to this.
Thanks in advance,
Bharath

On your iPod select Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings. -
Wifi password requested every five seconds
Everytime I use Safari (or otherInternet app) I get asked to enter my wifi password at home. I enter repeatedly without success. Any ideas??
Is the upgrade I am reading about possibly related to this error? So, up until today I was having problems with WiFi working at all. 90% of the time it wouldn't even find an access point. However, today after doing a reset all settings and putting everything back to normal I'm now having this issue. Basically it will pop up and ask me for my password all the time. After putting it in it will either say it's unable to join the network, ask me to enter it again, or if I'm really lucky (about 10% of the time) it will actually connect. WiFi is really F'd up right now.

IPod Touch 3G loses wifi every few seconds
I just purchased a new Touch 3G last night, and every few seconds it loses the wifi connection and reconnects. It does this over and over again consistently. When i go into wifi settings, i can actually see the settings for my wireless disappear, then reappear with a check mark beside it, every few seconds.
I've tried changing broadcast channel in router, from mixed to non-mixed G, resetting the router and iTouch, and release/renew. My laptop and desktop are connecting fine with the wireless, so i assume the issue is with the iTouch.
3.1.1 OSJust recently purchased and mine does the same exact thing. Mine seems to show a strong 3 bar connection while in the WiFi settings menu. When I back out to Home, the signal indicator suddenly drops to one bar and will flucuate to 2 or 1 bar. I have done all the tricks mentioned here with my router as well. But in my home I use assigned static IP's. Every setting is correct on the iPod Touch's menu. Im lost as to why it does that.

I am unable to connect to wifi because my sign into icloud screen reappears every 2 seconds
I am having trouble connecting to wifi because my sign into icloud screen reappears every 2 seconds, knocking it back offline. It won't take my correct password. What do I do?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings (if you can)
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
When watching my Apple TV (3rd gen) the picture jumps a few frames every few seconds, this happens when I rent a film or play back from my new Mac Pro, my Wifi is the Airport Express.
These may be different issues, but lets look at rentals first.
Poor motion can result from mismatched output. If your source is 24 or 30 fps you should set the output of the Apple TV to 60 Hz, for 25 fps content use 50 Hz.
Additionally motion software on the TV itself can cause the picture to jump, check your TV settings and turn off any motion settings in use, -
New MBP drops wifi every 65 seconds
So I have a month-old 15" MBP 10,1 2.4 GHz i7, 16 GB running 10.8.4. From day one it has dropped the wifi regularly, I've tried over six networks at three locations. Every 65 seconds the wifi icon drops, searches, re-establishes the network. No other issues, and the hardware test runs OK. I'm currently on DHCP at work but it's very stable, all my other wifi devices are fine and have been for years. I get this in the console every time (I've taken out the date and obfuscated the MAC, IP etc):

3G drops WiFi connection every 20 seconds
Hi,
I'm debugging why a particular application I wrote myself won't work. The application basically creates a CFNetwork-based connection to the Mac over WiFi, and this used to work. I've recently updated to Mac 10.6.1 and iPhoneOS 3.0.1, and it no longer works. I see the following in my console log on the iPhone (which breaks the connection):
Sat Oct 10 13:03:58 unknown configd[22] <Notice>: network configuration changed.
Sat Oct 10 13:04:01 unknown mDNSResponder[17] <Error>: Note: Frequent transitions for interface en0 (169.254.7.182); network traffic reduction measures in effect

At that point, I get a "connection reset by peer" on my network connection, presumably becuse the en0 interface went down/up in this cycle. This happens every 20 seconds or so. What is going on here and how do I prevent my WiFi link from going down+up every 20 seconds?I tried with another phone and that works fine - is my network card dead? Can I get that services?

Hello,
I have upgrade my new macbook air to Moutain Lion and now i have a problem with wifi.
I can't down file.
I lost packet !!!!
OlivierI am having the same problem.
The only short term fix I have found is to Force Quit Finder (press Alt + Cmd + Esc, or go to menu bar Apple Logo -> Force Quit then select Finder and click Force Quit). Finder then quickly restarts and I am able to reconnect to my WiFi.
I was hoping the latest update, OS X 10.7.1, would have resolved this but unfortuately it has not. I hope Apple can resolve this issue quickly.
Dan
p.s. I can't confirm that this problem only occurs when my mac goes to sleep during a Time Machine back up, simply becuase I have not checked for this. I will try and check and report back. -
Wifi is going on & off every few seconds, how to repair this?
I took my MacPro Mid 2009 model running Lion Safari 6.0.2 to the Apple Store Thursday of last week to the Apple Store located in Tampa @ the Interconential Mall, left it overnight with an Apple Genius Technician & picked it up the following evening. My Wifi upon arriving home was on the top of the list as the APPLE Location, I last used my computer. I changed that & dragged my Wifi from home to the top. I did this becasue my Wifi is turning off every few seconds, which makes downloading & surfing the web a big pain! What can I do to keep the wifi to stay on? My Mac everytime I open it, occasionally makes a sound like a disc is in it and there isn't one. I know there is no way they could hear it at the Apple store due to the noise & so many people there.
I had a technician come to my home to check out what my internet speed was, he corrected that he said & told me I needed a Time Capsule to connect to my router. If I am not correct, please correct me but doesn't a Time Machine work as a router & a backup?Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at. If your iPhone number is listed in there, select it and unselect your email address to use for Messages. If your phone number disappeared or never was in there, you will probably have to turn off/sign out of Messages on your iPhone and on your iPad and then start all over again by signing into Messages on the phone first, then on the iPad. Your phone number should be available to use for Messages in the setting that I described after that.

WiFi seems to be scanning for networks every few seconds. In between, it is showing ON.
Other computers on the same home wireless network are fine. My home network appears
to be strongest, why does the Apple WiFi keep scanning? internet seems to be intermittent.
This started a couple days ago, no change in hardware for a long time. It's functioning as intended.
OS X is assuming that you clicked the Wi-Fi icon for a reason: to be given the option to connect to a different wireless network should you so choose. -
WiFi in suspend hits router every 30 seconds
When my iPod is in suspend it wakes up every 30 seconds to check the router? This not only floods the router log, it seems to shorten my battery life quite a bit. I removed all 3rd party apps, still does it. When "On" this does not happen and WiFi works fine. What is waking the iPod touch up every 30 seconds to check WiFi?
Try turning off Push if you have it on. There really isn't anything setting wise that would cause this. i think the minimum check time for e-mail with Push off is every 15 minutes.

My ipod is cracked and it chipped away a little more last night and that's when my wifi stopped working. My wifi works on every other device in my house except for my ipod. Is there something wrong with my ipod?
Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Try right next to the router
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Could it be this?
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

i have changed the apple ID (email) but on my iphone , the icloud is stil asking me to log in whit the old email. And it is poping-up on every 10 seconds.I never used icloud, and i dont want to use it.I just dont know how to disable the icloud.
If you see that pop up you enabled icloud. Whether you want or do not want now to use it irrelevant until you actually disable activation lock.
In order to do that you have to change your apple id back to do that just long enough to sign in and back out. System will ask you to verify, don't.
Just sign in on the prompt you getting and then logout. Once done, change apple id to what you have now and verify. Then decide if you want to
use icloud (who does not want to be able to track their phone if lost or stolen). -
Shortly after upgrading to version 10.7, I installed an application that was not compatable with the LION operating system. The application was for an external Maxtor hard drive that appearantly was intened for an earlier Mac operating system.
Now I get the popup "You can't open the application NotificationExec because PowerPC applications are no longer supported" about every 10 seconds.
How to I get rid of this.
There is nothing to Force Quit. The process (if it is a process) does not show up in Activity Monitor. I have also tried to use the KILLALL command but no process is found by that name.Absolutely frustrated by the same problem, just lost 3 hours of my day trying to uninstall after getting the same error message. The ONLY thing that worked for me was going to the following Maxtor (Seagate) URL:
http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/199931en
I downloaded their "remove maxtor sw.zip" file
Click here to download the remove_maxtor_sw.zip file and store it on your system's desktop.
And it worked perfectly. Took 10 seconds and - after restarting - it was done.
What a waste of the day!!!
