Wifi MAC to TV

Hi I have just purchased a samsung 6 series LCD TV 650 , I can purchase a samsung wifi receiver for the TV to use the internet.Can I use my Mac to connect with the TV or do I need a Mac TV box to transmit my Mac to, then connect my MAC box to the TV.
Hope that makes sense.

If you want to display the iMac's display on that TV, you would need to hardwire the iMac's video output to the TV's video inputs.
If you want to watch video via iTunes on that TV, you would need to use the Apple TV to play the video to the TV. The video wouldn't be playing on the Mac, the video would play directly from the Apple TV.

    It is almost as if the program does not exist on my computer. If I search for it, the only thing that comes up is the installer.     Unless you can set the Time Capsule's drive to have it's ownership ignored
    you won't be able to use the library on the same volume as the Time Machine backups.

    I have a Mac pro hard wired (ethernet) to my linksys router, I also have my Airport Extreme base station connected to the same router,
    my question is: can Apple TV see my NON WIFI Mac pro through the Airport base station and then through my router?,
    if so what kind of setup would I need to do?

    Smokerz, thanks for the reply, I should have been clearer, my Linksys is just an ethernet router not a wifi router,
    thats why I have the Airport base station, which is connected to the Linksys along with my other computers, the Linksys then connects to my Broadband cable modem.
    so my Airport base station is my only wireless reciever,

    we are using ZMM with some iPhones. Roling out a policy works fine, but I only get a few informations from the devices
    like Battery Level, Capacity and some more.
    But how do I configure ZMM to get more informations, like WiFi-Mac, SerialNumber, IMEI and Phone Number ?
    Every iPhone (iPhone 4, 4S, 5 & 5s) with different IOS Versions only show "N/A" in this fields.
    We are using ZMM 2.8.2. We started with 2.6.x and I thought that this informations will be available in newer versions. But nothing happened.
    Any Ideas how to get this informations from all connected devices ?

    Same problem. Mail sync works fine. Policys are working too. But there are now device informations like SN, IMEI and so on.
    I opened a SR at Novell and I'm searching for a ZMM specialist in NRW/Germany.

    Yep......my daughters are 30 and 27.  So anytime they visit with a new mobile gizmo I need to enter the mac address in my router.
    When we have guests (brothers, friends etc) they all have phones or laptops etc. so I need to enter their macs.  If I forget about the mac filter I go a little nuts trying to figure out why they can't connect to my network.
    Clearly......I need to take your advice and turn broadcast back on and disable the mac filter......which I did about 20 minutes ago.
    Even though my girls are long long past the little girl stage I am still looking forward to the looks on their faces when they open these things on Christmas morning!!

    Since the warranty is 36 months, I'm going to bring it to service. BUT. Unfortunatelly, the sticker with serial is lost. Is it possible to restore the serial by modem IMEI (shown on modem card) or wifi MAC? Or may be by motherboard serial number? I wonder, how authorized service would check if my notebook has warranty left (it does not boot!)I have invoice left. However, no serial is printed on it....

    Laptop s/n could be rewritten easy via WMIC interface or some tools, so the service technician may request additional proofs.
    Any way:
    1. open command prompt window and execute the following commands:
    wmic.exe csproduct get vendor,name,identifyingnumber
    wmic.exe baseboard get product,serialnumber
    wmic.exe nicconfig where DHCPEnabled='true' get caption,macaddress
    2. there are several codes on the systemboard surface that might proof your laptop legality:
    - somewhere, but at the visible area, system board s/n is being placed. It begins with "11S" symbols (22 in total), includes systemboard manufactured p/n that matches with one you've got via WMIC and Lenovo partslookup service shows by laptop s/n. The 2nd part of that s/n on the systemboard includes its short s/n that matches with one you've got via WMIC;
    - there should be Ethernet adapter MAC address on the laptop base cover internal side. It should match with one you've got via WMIC.

  • 10.6.8 Wifi Mac Mini Core Solo Problems

    I have had my beloved Mac Mini core solo (1.5ghz) since 2007 and have had regular upgrades to keep it alive (upgraded hard drive, ram etc.).
    A couple of days ago I upgraded the airport card - it previously was only 802.11 a/b/g, but I now have the atheros 9280 802.11 a/b/g/n successfully installed into the machine.
    The main reason for doing this is that my previous airport card just never seemed to work at all; I have an iphone and ipad and they both successfully connect to my Orange livebox router with no problems whatsoever, yet my Mac Mini did not connect at all having tried everything I can. Therefore my final solution was to arrange an update of the airport card to the new atheros one suggested by my local Apple dealer.
    I brought the Mac home, and tried to attahc to my wifi router to immediate success. It had full signal strength and was working flawlessly. I then turned the machine off, went out for a while and then came home to find it was not working again and kept searching for the wifi router and asking for constant passwords. After a long time, it seemed to work again but after I turned the machine off it lost the settings (depsite me asking network settings to save via the locked button) and I am constantly repeating this process.
    I am therefore wondering if anyone can help. The atheros 9280 airport card information is as follows (from the system profiler):

    Just to also add that its Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Intel Mac Mini core 1.5ghz solo, and my Orange Wifi router is quite old (around 2006) so supports a/b/g - I was thinking that this may be the fault but why would all my other apple systems have no problems with this connection?
    Any help would be really appreciated as I'm going a little nuts here!

    I'd say that SL is more efficient on a machine it was made to run on. Apple didn't exclude the single core Intel processor, probably because they didn't have to change their code like they would have for a PPC processor but part of the efficiency is it's ability to split services to the separate cores in the CPU. You only have one, so that part of the improvement is of no use. All of the processes the OS handles and splits to multiple CPU cores are worthless and your programs will just have to wait until the CPU has time for you.
    Meanwhile, the programs you are running are more powerful and provide higher quality and really need the extra core. The speed of the ram, the buss, and the hard drive are not as fast as your MacBook either. All of this data has to be moved around quite a bit from the drive to ram and then back to the drive.
    Christmas is coming
    WinXP will run on a 600Mhz PII processor with 128MB's of PC100 ram, but you wouldn't want to. It's not a lot of fun to work with or work on.
    Unless there is some whiz bang program or technology that you need from SL, I'd take the machine back to Leopard or even Tiger, which it probably ran pretty well.

    I have created an image for the Linx Tablets, which don't have an ethernet MAC Address, so I'd like to use the Wifi address instead (which would also help with network registration in our environment).  Does anybody have a solution?

    The first time I used my mac book pro I selected a wifi. I dont use this wifi anymore, I use another one. But every time I open the mac it chooses the the first wifi. I dont know how to changes this. I want the new wifi to bee the default one. Thanks!

    Not sure what your question has to do with an AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule.
    On your Mac......
    Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
    Open Network
    Click on WiFi on the left
    Click Advanced at the lower right
    Your Mac will connect first to the network listed at the top of the list
    Drag the network that you want to use first to the top of the list
    Make sure that there is a check mark in the box next to Remember networks this computer has joined
    No other boxes should be checked
    Close System Preferences
    Restart your Mac

  • Wifi MAC authentication on ISE 1.3

    We are trying to configure ISE to authenticate wifi user through WLC using MAC address.
    ISE checks against internal endpoint identity store for authorized MAC address.
    We found that the first time a wifi device tries to connect (this MAC address has not yet been manually input in the internal endpoint identity store) the authentication fails which is normal. However after this authentication failure, such MAC address will be automatically input in the internal endpoint identity store. So next time the same wifi device tries to connect the authentication will succeed.
    How to configure ISE to prevent this from happening?

    An "authorized" mac address should be so, by putting it into a specific group in ISE manually, so that you have to move it there to allow it to connect. Then update your authz rule to only allow mac adresses from that specific internal group.
    Just so we are clear, this is not for guest access right? Is it just an open ssid where you wan't to control what mac addresses are allowed on there ?

  • Slow wifi mac mini

    Until yesterday mac mini wifi used to work fine. Ping works OK, it is only when a browser is used that the page does not load.
    TraceRoute shows only first 2 entries and then after a long pause it bursts out upto 8 entries and then it prints Three stars (* * *).

    System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
    System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
    The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
    If using Wifi/Airport...
    Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
    For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222

    (There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

    It's not clear to me which command if any will allow a MAC change

    The Mac address cannot be changed.  Go to settings>general> about an dhave a look at your mac address  there
