Wifi not staying connected or connecting at all

i went to genius bar for a non related issue because at the time my wifi was fine.  the guy told me that i had corrupt software and it needed to be reformated.  after i went home i noticed when i was home or places where there was wifi, that if it could connect it took forever to connect and some places where my phone used to connect it wouldnt at all.  i went back to genius bar and they decided i needed a new phone and it was under warranty so they replaced my 4s.  my replacement phone is doing the same exact thing now.  i cant connect to wifi at work, i type in the password and it wont connect and at home, where i dont need a password, it will connect.. but then just disconects a few min later.  i have ios6 on my phone, ive tried every trick that ive seen posted in forums..ive also reset it and started over from scratch.. help.

This is an issue with ios 6 from the start. According to reports, apple is supposedly going to be putting 6.0.1 out soon that will address this and other issues. So be patient, its coming.

My phone doesn't stay in G3 connection for the most part of the day. There's neither G nor H on the screeb or there's only G with no white box. The connection stays on for some minutes at highest. Right now there's no letter on the screen. This is extrmely frustrating! I can't access the net or send whatsapp messages

This maybe a network issue, how old is your sim card and was this always an issue or did it just start recently?
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Wifi not staying connected

I just got my ATV two days ago and when I first plugged it in I couldn't get the WiFi working on it. After working on it for an hour to get it working I figured I may have just gotten one that didn't work. A couple hours later I came back to it and found it working just fine and watched netflix and rented a movie. Then next morning I watched part of a show and then it stopped working and has been telling me the same stuff from the beggining, like "Your Apple TV is connected to '(network)' but cannot connect to the Internet". I am right now living in a hotel and I was wondering if that might have anything to do with it. Please help me out!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The network in the hotel may well be a factor, but then in many cases the network is a factor in a lot of peoples issues with the Apple TV. I don't suppose you have access to the network settings, is it wired or wifi, have you had a word with the network administrator.

  • Wifi not staying connected to modem using IPad 3

The 8.1.3 update has not yet fixed the Bluetoot/wifi issues. Please advise I'm using the iPad 3, before I updated I was experiencing wifi/Bluetooth issues, and still having those issues. Will Apple be issuing another update?

Hi Turn off your Router for 30 Seconds Go to Settings on iPad reset network settings After reset enter your router wireless key. Cheers Brian

  • Wifi will not stay connected after Lion upgrade - help?

I upgraded to Lion last week on my iMac and now my computer will not stay connected to wifi...  it is fine if I restart my computer, but then it looses its connection, settings when it goes in to screen saver mode - very frustrating, please help!

This has been well discussed on another thread here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3191630?start=2055&tstart=0
(There appear to be no moderators on these forums to make sure that new threads with the same topic don't get linked to a parent !?)
Anyway... The issues appear for many to be related to a specific Airport card type & firmware version.
I've had constant disconnect problems with my Mini since upgrading to Lion.
    My Airport card specs are:
Card Type:                              AirPort Extreme  (0x168C, 0x86)
      Firmware Version:                    Atheros 5424: 2.1.14.9
Connecting to my Time Capsule distributing on:
              PHY Mode:          802.11a
The Atheros firmware version appears to be the issue depending on certain wifi network conditions.
After some playing about today I think I've managed to force my Mini to connect on a better frequency, without having to roll back the firmware to the Snow Leopard version or mess with the Mini Airport card settings (via Terminal) by changing some settings in my router (Time Capsule).
These are the changes I made:
Airport Utility > Wireless > Wireless Options
    Set Radio Mode to 802.11 a/n - b/g instead of 802.11 a/n - b/g/n (Automatic)
Set 2.4 GHz Channel to 13 instead of Automatic
Set 5GHz Channel to 48 instead of Automatic
    My Mini now connects on:
    PHY Mode:          802.11g
    Signal / Noise:          -64 dBm / -96 dBm
    Transmit Rate:          54
    instead of previously
    PHY Mode:          802.11a
    Signal / Noise: -73 dBm / -96 dBm
    Transmit Rate: 36
This appears now to be stable (no drops in the last 4 hours). It's a low transmit rate still, but better than before.
The iMac is still connecting on
    PHY Mode:          802.11n
    Signal / Noise:          -69 dBm / -88 dBm
    Transmit Rate:          216
and all is right with the world (hopefully for the long term)

  • MacBooks and iPhones not staying connected to wifi.

When Yosemite came out I downloaded it to my Macbook Pro with retina and I've had no problem with it. Now when I did it to my dad's non retina Macbook Pro, he seems to be having trouble staying connected. Whenever he's online he keeps telling me he keeps getting booted off and has to go and reselect the wireless only to be kicked off again. As of lately that same problem has carried over to my iPhone and sometime it will jump back on the wifi or it will eventually prompt me to select the network again and it will reconnect. I'm not sure why this is doing this all of a sudden and wonder if their's any solutions. Also, I have another question up following the same type of question but it has to do with the wireless and I'll leave that down below. But I wonder if it's too many devices? There's my iPhone, my mom's iPhone, her iPad, my Mac, my dad's Mac, his phone, his work laptop, an Xbox One, a PS4, and possibly his cell phone. You could say we're pretty connected. Out of all those devices connected, only my mom's iPad, my phone, the Xbox and PS4, alongside my dad's Mac are the things mainly being used. The other iPhone and work laptop and cell phone aren't on the network frequently and are usually in sleep mode, if not turned off.

    Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number.  Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem.  unplug it for about 10 seconds.  Plug it back in.  Do the same for Apple’s routers.  Wait for everything to reboot.
    System Preferences>Network
    Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

  • IPhone 4S not staying connected to wifi?

I have both iPad and iPhone connected to same wifi, but my iPhone 4S does not stay connected.  I have tried to reset network, restart iPhone and they do connect but disconnects shortly afterwards.  Can anyone help me?

Did you solve this problem? My new MacBook Pro 15" running 10.8.2 has exactly the problem you describe with our new Netgear N600. The other devices in our house (iMac running 10.5, a PC and an iPhone 3Gs) have no connectivity probelms at all.
I have no problem connecting with my MBP at work or elsewhere. The problem is just at home with the N600.

  • IPod touch - not staying connected to WiFi

Just bought an iPod touch for my daughter. It will not stay connected to wifi. Everyday we are having to reconnect and enter our password. All our other devices are fine (MacBook, iPhones, iPads etc). Any suggestions?

Does the iPod connect OK to other networks?
    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>GeneralReset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • WiFi does not stay connected after latest upgrade

I am having an issue with the WiFi connection on my Iphone 4 after the latest 4.3 upgrade.
It does not stay connected to the wifi. I have to go and manually connect to it.
Then after a couple of seconds it loses it again.
    Why is this

"I'm not sure why yours is doing it but I would suggest your reboot your router and reset the iPhone network settings.
If you are hiding your SSID, do the last step which is tap Settings > WiFi > Other and completely re-enter your network name, security, and network password."
Been there, done that... Did ALL these steps, but that does not fix the problem... AFTER inputting the SSID manually, selecting security, and then the password, iPhone STILL says it cannot connect...

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 5 will not stay connected to wifi although I am close to router and have strong signal

iPad 3 and iPhone 5 will not stay connected to wifi although I am close to router and have strong signal. I have to keep joining the network or restarting devices or forgetting network and rejoining it.  As a side note my 1st gen iPhone which I upgraded to iPhone 5 yesterday always stayed connected!

The steps to try would be to:
    1. Restore the iPhone to Factory.
    2. If that does not solve the problem replace the iPhone.
If Verizon is offering to replace the iPhone for free under warranty I would go with that option.
