Wifi not visible since a storm outage?

Power went out Sunday and since then my computer does not see my wifi network. AirPort/TimeCapsule light is constant amber and I have tried a hard reboot and reset to factory settings. The cable comes in through a cable provider modem then to the AirPort. I can connect directly from the router to my Mac and it works fine, but the wifi utrility only sees my neighbor's network.
Any suggestions?

I can see it being that way too, however, the device is working somewhat since he mentioned the following:

I'd assume since he has done a full reset, he simply cannot find his wireless network. Maybe the radio antenna went bad, who knows. But if the reset was successful, it is most likely displaying the default SSID that Apple uses and he's possibly looking for his SSID which wouldn't exist. He would also need to configure the utility to show the Time Machine disk (possibly). I'm not experienced with Time Capsule (just Airport Extreme/Express).

Iomega 2003 Storage Server AFP Shares not visible since upgrading to 10.5.6

Iomega suggested that I post here. No AFP shares are visible since I installed the suggested 10.5.6 OSX upgrades. Nothing changed on the Iomega 2003 storage server side and it been running fine with the shares visible for over two years. What has changed in OSX? After working with it some more... Have figured out that the "lock" screen is a security measure from the server software. somehow, I have it set [didn't mean to do this] to show that upon each reboot now, and I'm not sure how to disable it. I'll get into the server manuals and have to research that.
It also seems that the server software sees each HD as another computer somehow... and each partition as well. Curious... Anyway, once I got past the "loced" screen, the fresh install of the server software was in effect, and the primary HD is showing both patitions.
All is happy... [doing little apple happy dance]...
I zero'd out both of the new HD's, and am forgoing the install of the newer 10.5.6 on them. My 10.4.11 server is just fine actually, had no problems with it until I tried to upgrade. I suspect that the server software either wants only 10.4.11 server on everything, or somehow I must "tell " it to accept the other 10.5.6. Not real sure how to do that, however will put my muscles inbetween my ears in gear to think about for awhile.

Can't connect to any WiFi since the IOS upgrade. Ive reset networks, turned airplane mode on/off and powered phone off and on. Nothing works!

No, it's not a bug. It is most likely an issue with your specific device.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for evaluation.

Wifi not working since both updates

I have read that a lot of people are having the same issue as me (wifi button not working - it is greyed - every since the 6.1 update and now the 6.1.1).. all I want to know is what will Apple do when I take my phone into store (I have an appointment on Saturday) ?
I have done everything; resetting everything including network settings, restoring from back up and as a new iphone, let the battery drain and try it and I have seen the suggestion of putting the phone in the freezer, but for some reason that doesn't sound very clever...
So yeah, will Apple replace the phone (I am under warranty) or will they send it off for repair?

You're in the right direction! Go to your local Apple Store and get it resolved. Most likely, they will replace the device.

Why does wifi not work since loading IOS 6

I have had a iPhone 4s since it was released... I uploaded IOS 6 & my iphone 4s wifi rarely & barely works... All my other computing wifi devices work fantastic because I have 20+ mb/s download speeds... iPhone 4s downloads at 1 to 3 mb/s or not at all... Apple replaced my iphone in Oct, the wifi worked briefly then quit... Yesterday Apple replaced my iphone again, it didn't last 24 hours & the wifi quit working...
My wife's iphone 4s has quit working too after updating to IOS 6...
Can we go back to IOS 5 or is there another solution...
Been to the Genius Bar & their only solution is to give you another iphone or wait for another software update...
They recognize the issue too, but have no zero solutions...

How has it stopped working?

Hey guys i'm sure this has been posted a few times, could'nt find any answers.. anwyay, I have 4S and since ios 7 my wifi dosnt work, has come on rarely if phone has died of battery and been left for a while it would come on..I read that its because since the update it will turn off wifi is the temperature in the phone is too high.. Is this true? Is there anyway to turn off if so? and can i go back to older ios to see if it fixes it? Is a real pain as i dont have good signal my way so i rely on the wifi on my phone quite heavily, thanks guys!

Wifi not working since 10.10.3 update

Hello,
Almost exactly in time with the latest update being installed, my McBook Pro has ceased to conenct to my home wifi service.
I can see a full strength wi-fi signal but no connection to any website is successful.
I have read some suggestions after a google search that this may be linked to the update.
Can anyone help me please?

Go step by step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
    Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
    Restart the computer.
    Start up in Safe Mode.

2. Delete Caches.db
    Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" from the dropdown.
    Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
    Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
    Close windows and relaunch Safari.
3. Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
4. Delete Cookies
    Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
    Click “Details” button.
    Remove all cookies except from Apple, your ISP and banks.

Does anyone know why since upgrading to ML notes are not visible in Time Machine. They used to be part of mail and could be recovered from Time machine but since ML I don't seem to be able to access notes in Time Machine. Any help would be useful.

Mail doesn't support notes. If you use iCloud, you have them in it because Notes is an application

IPad 3 Not Visible via Wifi

I recently installed iTunes 10.7 on my Win 7 64 bit PC. I have an iPhone 5 and iPad 3 both running iOS 6. My iPhone is visible in iTunes via wifi, but my iPad is not visible. I did not have this issue with iTunes 10.6.3. Both iPhone and iPad are visible when I connect via cable. Any suggestions.

This behavior was described many times.
In every occurrence,the operating system was an uncompleted one resulting of the use of Software Update to update the operating system to 10.6.2, 10.6.3, 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, 10.6.7.
In such cases, the solace was to apply a combo updater.
As you are using 10.6.7, download and apply the combo 10.6.7 :

WiFi coverage indicator not visible

Dear forummembers,
I developped my first theme in Plazmic Theme Builder (as part of Plazmic CDK 4.6) and also designed indicators for batterystatus, signalcoverage and WiFi coverage. The battery- and signal coverage indicators show up nicely but the WiFi coverage indicator (in the original theme the triangular shape with the expanding waves next to it) does not show. The only indication on WiFi is the WiFi-logo, eather light-grey (WiFi available) or dark-grey (WiFi not available). WiFi as such works but my indicator on signalstrength does not.
The graphic needed is ok (in 1 row of five equally shaped graphics) and the creationprocess of the Plazmic themecreator did not generate any error (I know it does when the graphic does not meet required specs).
If I look at the WiFi diagnostics, it shows a signallevel of -59 dBm and a speed of 54 Mbps. By the way, in this menu the original indicator does show up and works.
What am I doing wrong?

Mac Mini not visible in Mac network (shared drives, remote desktop)

I got the following problem since a few months and can't figure what the problem could be.
My Mac Mini in not visible on my other macs in Finder oder Path Finder.
With unsing Apple + K shortcut I can connect to alle Mac Mini drives.
- Both machines have 10.8.4. installed
- Router is a Time Capsule
-> MBP connected via WiFi
-> Mac Mini via LAN cable
- IP Adress will be set via DHCP (static IPs won't help, tried that of course)
- Remote Desktop und Sharing is activated on both machines within preferences
- MacMini sees my MBP und my GFs MB
- MBP is able to see my GFs MB, but not my MacMini
- No Firewall acticated on both machines
- rights have been checked and repaired with the harddrive tool
Anybody an idea what I can try next?

Error resolved. It's was obviously my fault...
I changed the plist to deactivate multicasts a long long time ago

WiFi not working properly (5th gen iPod Touch)

I have a 64 GB iPod Touch 5th gen (iOS 6.1.3 - NOT Jailbroken)
Ever since I got the device the wifi is working 100% fine. Until a few days ago it barely works. It says it's connected (wifi arches visible) but webpages and internet dependent apps are saying there is "no internet connection" or "network error." I turned off wifi and when i try to reconnect it displayed "Unable to join the network <name of our home wifi>." I reset the router, reset the iPod's network settings, and removed the case with no avail. The iPod's wifi can only work within 2 meters from our router, which is not normal.
Note: there is nothing wrong with our wifi router or our home build. All of our various devices (laptops, iPad, my dad's GS3 mini, and even my 4 year old phone) can connect without any problems wherever they are in the house.

So this not being your router's problem let's conclude that iPod is the culprit! You were saying that it worked properly until recently so it might be a iOS related problem. Try restoring the firmware using iTunes! But before, backup everything and proceed through it! After restoring, iTunes will ask about restoring the data or setting it up as a new one - DON'T RESTORE. Let the backup be there, try setting it up as new. Then verify the wifi connectivity, if all goes right then you can restore from backup! If all else fails, your device may require an authorised personnel attention asap! Cheers!

MBP connects to internet directly via cable modem, but airport wifi not working

Today I came home to a broken wifi. I think Time Warner Cable had an outage in my area which confused my modem and airport router, but anyway. After a short while I was able to connect to the internet if I plug the cable directly from the modem to my laptop (which is how I am currently posting this question). But if I instead connect the cable to my airport and try to connect via my usual wifi network, I don't have any internet. Here is what I have tried:
- cycle cable modem several times
- hard reset as well as factory reset of Airport
- trying to connect the cable modem to the airport via both WAN and Ethernet entry, power cycling the Airport, waiting several minutes on each to see whether I get internet
- Using Network > Assistant to create a new location and network
Under airport utility, the status messages I get are as follows:
- Internet Connection (tells me to cycle my cable modem, which I have tried)
- No DNS Servers (I haven't touched any DNS addresses, but this has never been an issue that prevents me from connecting to wifi)
- Ethernet unplugged (since I'm using the cable to write this message...)
My hardware is:
- MBP early 2011
- ubee cable modem (standard issue from TWC)
- Airport Express 802.11n (2nd generation).
My laptop is able to connect to other wifi networks, so that is not the issue.
Any help or advice is appreciated.

...And now it all of a sudden works. However, as I can't delete this post I hope others who have had similar problems may have solutions for future issues.

External hard drive not visible in disk utility or finder

Hi all,
I have had a good look through previous discussions and I can't seem to find an issue relevant to mine.
My external hard drive has 2 partitions (1 time machine back up, 1 general hard drive). The issue is that the HD is running when it is plugged in however it is not visible in either disk utility or finder.
I am running OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) on a 2010 MacBook Pro. I also have parallels desktop running windows 7. When I boot windows and plug in the HD I usually get the option to mount the HD to either OS X or Windows. With this issue the option window appears for a split second (not enough time to select either) and then disappears. It seems that the HD may be ejecting itself as soon as it is registered by the computer. I have tried using a different power cable for the HD and also a different usb cable, this doesn't help.
The external HD is a Samsung D3 Station, which i have had for 6 months now and never had an issue with.
Any help is appreciated

An update for anyone who can help me:
I have tried the external hard drive in other computers (mac and windows), each time I get the same problem above.
I have removed the HD from the enclosure and purchased a docking station for it (3.5" SATA). When I plug it in to the laptop it disconnects itself straight away before it is visible. With the windows computers it installs the drivers and says that the device is ready to use, then disconnects before it shows up.
As the HD is not visible there is no option to re-format or anything.
This is very frustrating as I was using the HD with no issues and it randomly disconnected and I have not been able to access since.
