Wifi option is greyed out and wont fix after restoring to factory settings--PLEASE HELP!!!
my wifi option is "greyed out" therefore it doesnt allow me to connect to the internet. Ive restored it to factory settings, its still greyed out. Please, please, please help me out here.

the same thing happened to me. Last time this happened i held the home and power button until the phone turned off, then i turned it on and let it charge and it worked. Now it won't let me get past the Apple sign flickering every 5-10 seconds.

just did the latest upgrade in software and now my wifi has been greyed out and wont turn on.
contacted apple and they let me know that it is my problem and will have to buy a new phone. anyone find a way to make the wifi work if the upgrade has a glitch in it?I had this same problem - if your phone is still under warrantly then apple will replace it for you for free.
Otherwise you will need to pay for a replacement.
They will tell you to reset and restore etc but replacement was the only option for me. -

A few days ago my iphone decided to stop connecting to wi-fi. I tried to connect to different wi-fi connections but my phone does not pick up any. Now my "turn wi-fi on" option is greyed out and I am unable to turn it on. I have tried reseting the network connections as well as reseting the iphone back to original settings. My network provider couldnt help. I dont know what else to do??
I had same problem. I removed the back cover, and warmed wi-fi module by hairdryer of my wife). five days wi-fi works great. I do not know what will happen next.

Start by working through http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and if that doesn't resolve it, some have found it helps to go to Settings and set Airplane Mode ON and Do Not Disturb ON. Power down and wait 5-10 minutes and power up. Got to Settings and set Airplane Mode OFF and Do Not Disturb OFF

Ok i think i have found out how to do it. Unplug your i phone, go to settings and then reset then reset all data and settings. This will warn you that it is going to erase eveything on your phone.
DO NOT BACK UP BEFORE HAND
then restart your phone and restore back up from when you donwloaded the new IOS5. This should sort out your problem :-)
