  • Having entered a WiFi password, can (and how) this be grieved so it can be used in my second device

We have now upgraded to a superior device and we need to recall the WiFi password to put into the new device. How can we do this?

How much data is being backed-up from each Mac?  (see what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Prefs > Options).
Is there any other data on your Time Capsule, besides the backups?
Most likely, there just isn't room.  Time Machine may be trying to do a very large (or full) backup of one or both Macs, and can't.  Since it won't ever delete the most recent backup, there has to be enough room for one full backup plus whatever it's trying to back up now, plus 20% (for workspace).

    Hi,
Someone has been using my internet and cauing me to go over my usage!!
So I logged into http://bthomehub.home and entered my password, went to settings and chose to change the password for my wifi. I choose WAP-2 and entered my password. I was then disconnected and I tried to log into my wifi from the menu tray in the bottom right, chose my bthomehub, but it didn't ask me for a password and now I can't get online through my homehub. I tried going to http://bthomehub.home but chrome tries to do a google search.
How can I get back online and change my wifi password so that my neighbour doesn't steal my internet connection?

  • Forgetting WiFi password, and not connecting to wireless access point automatically??

I'm using (until tomorrow when I get a MacBook Pro which HOPEFULLY won't have the same problem) a pre 2007 Macbook which is running Mac OS X 10.5.8. It was previously owned by my brother and passed onto me about 4 months ago. Within that time I've had nothing but problems with the WiFi connection!
The first issue would have to be that if I put the MacBook to "sleep" rather than turning off, it disconnects from WiFi during that process. Fine, that's to be expected. But when I wake it up, it's not only disconnected, but I have to re-enter my WiFi password in order to reconnect. Is there some reason that it will not remember the password through this sleep process? Turning off and on normally works fine, and it connects automatically, but not when it sleeps.
The second problem is equally confusing to my mind. In my house, we have a wireless access point upstairs (we have 3 floors after having our attic converted). All characteristics (name, password etc) are the same on the access point as on the main router downstairs. Every device in our house, included a couple of android phones, a tablet, and two laptops running various versions of Windows, all connect to this wireless access point with no problem at all. None of them have been "set up" to do so, in that they detect it as part of the same network and join it automatically. But for some reason, my MacBook won't do it? At first I would assume that perhaps it's due to the age of my MacBook and maybe some flaw in the old operation system, but my iPhone 4S running iOS 7 doesn't connect to this access point either. Is this some weird security thing that Apple use in their devices??
To make things even more frustrating, the MacBook's issue of remembering the WiFi password means that when I come back downstairs and into range of the main router, it's forgotten the password again and I have to re-enter it to reconnect.
Can some PLEASE offer some kind of assistance? I'm getting a brand new MacBook Pro tomorrow and if it's an OS issue then I assume I won't have it anymore, but I'm desperate to solve this issue one way or another considering this machine will be staying in the family and in this house so will pressumably have the same issues.
Thanks in advance guys! If I've not given enough info, just ask

  • German character 'ß' in wifi password - unable to connect!

    Hi,
Any help would be appreciated - 3 trips to Apple stores today and still no luck! I'm trying to connect my Macbook Air to a wifi network that contains a 'ß' in it's password.
Is there anyway to get around this glitch? I'm using the German keyboard layout and have no problems inserting that character into finder, text edit etc - it just won't allow me to type it into the password dialog box.
    Help me please!

    Thanks Nerowolfe,
Believe me, this was our first option - unfortunatley the owner of the network has not come back to us.
I'm surprised there's no way around this... in the meantime there's the ethernet cable...

  • My Ipod is disabled for the wrong password can't connect to itunes

My daughter has forgotten her password to get into her ipod touch, it is now disabled and says we must connect to Itunes. However I do not have the original laptop her ipod was synced to, and upon reregistering it does not connect to itunes and says I must enter a password for the ipod before it will connect. Not real sure what to do now? I called support but they want 29.99 to have a 1x support session. Does anyone know what I can do to unlock this ipod??? Please

Place the iPod in Recovery mode and connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. If you do not have a backup. you have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Lose connection, asks for password, can't connect

I keep finding my ipad dropping it's WiFi connection - in the middle of an active session. Looking at one web page, click a link -> tries to reconnect.
Worse, it seems to forget its password - I need to re-enter to reconnect. A real pain.
    Are others seeing similar issues?

Same exact problem is happening to me at my home. When I brought the iPad into the Apple Store yesterday to be looked at, the WiFi worked fine so they didn't do anything. Of course when I bring it home, it drops the WiFi signal in middle of my browsing. It then asks for my password, I re-enter, and still no connection. So I have to turn the IPad off and then on again to get back onto WiFi network. Repeat about every half hour. My signal is strong, and I am only 6 feet away from the router. All my other WiFi equipment is working consistently.
I have Verizon FIOS for what it is worth.

  • Hp officejet pro 8600 not accepting my wifi password

I am unable to set my printer up as it will not accept my wifi password can any one help?

    Hello,
Are you getting an error message while typing in the password? If so, what is the error message?
You could be having an issue with the wireless radio.
Can you give a little more information about the issue you're having?
Also, remember if you find any of my post helpful or want to say thanks make sure to click the white star under my name to give me Kudos.
    I really appreciate it!
    Thanks!

  • Where do the WiFi passwords go?

When I enter a WiFi with my iPhone, I enter a password and it works, but the password disappears.
There is no keychain app in the iPhone, right?
So when I want to tell you the WiFi password, can I read it anywhere on my iPhone?
Or has it just disappeared somewhere down there...?

No. The password is stored, but not accessible.
