Wifi Printer changed all of my connections

First I am not pc savy I may not use all of the correct terms so please forgive....Yesterday I was hooking up a Canon Pixma MX 472 wifi printer .During the set up it created its own accept point? thus over riding my exsiting wifi account and disabling all guest accounts  (daughters phone and tablet) I do not know how to reconfigure the Linksys E2500 to get my account back and not the one that the printer set up .....I do not have a password for the one that the printer connection or key  ... for the other device's can not link in....what do I do ?
Thank you
Sara

Hi masonjarbeading. Are your setting the printer up via Cableless Setup? If you are, the printer should not be overriding the main network's settings. Do you still see your WiFi account (wireless network name) on your device's wireless list? Try to access the router's setup page and verify if your wireless network has been overridden by the printer's "network". Here's a link on how to access the setup page:

  • HT3500 my laptop, iPad and iPhone suddenly do not connect to my printer.  All of these Apple product and my HP printer are connected to wifi, but now I cannot get anything to print from computer, iPad or phone.  suggestions?

All of my Apple product have suddenly been unable to find my HP printer.  All are working/connected to wifi and were printing just fine yesterday.  Suggestions?

    Hello Faith25
Check out the articles below to get your notebook and iOS devices to print again. Check to see if there is anything that could be preventing it from being print to like a jam in the printer or a print queue that may be stuck. Another think to check, if you can get it to show up on your notebook. is to see if the printer has the latest firmware.

  • New C309g wifi printing awful slow

I just bought a new C309g HP printer specifically for the wifi function.  I have a desktop and 2 laptops and all are relatively new.  I also just upgraded all 3 to Windows 7.  I installed the HP driver CD that came with the printer on all 3 machines and set up for wifi printing on all 3.  On all 3 the print jobs take painfully long to complete.  It takes several minutes for a simple text page to print, and upwards of 10 minutes for a picture to print.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?  THanks.

I have a couple of questions and experiments to try:
Did you install the Windows 7 drivers (I assume so)?
What kind of wireless-router do you have?  Is your wireless-network encrypted?  If so, what type (WEP, WPA-PSK)?
Please download the Network Diagnostic Tool located here. Run the tool and after it starts, run the advanced section and display the detected wireless networks.  Tell me the names, channels and signal strength of the networks in the area.  Also tell me which one is yours.
Next, if you installed the HP customer participation program, please uninstall it from all your computers.

  • Ipad can no longer find my HP air printer although was perfectly fine before. Have tried turning both printer and ipad off and on - no joy. Printer says that it is connected to my wifi.

Just returned from holiday and my ipad can no longer detect my air printer, although working fine prior to that.
Have tried switching both off and on again - no luck.
The printer says that it's connected to my wifi as does the ipad.
Would appreciate any suggestions as I have found it very frustrating trying to get any help from the HP support sites.
    Thank you

You're welcome. It's amazing how many problems can be sorted out simply by restarting ALL devices involved. That's my first troubleshooting step when I have issues like that - restart everything and try again.
I'm glad that it worked for you.

  • HT4356 My iPad no longer discovers my AirPrint printer. All on same WiFi network. Just stopped working

Can someone help me? My iPad stopped discovering my HP AirPrint printer. So I cant print at all with no printer to slect. Both printer and iPad are on same WiFi network and connected.

Thanks so much pjl1213. I was struggling with the same issue and spent hours re-booting my ipad, iphone and the printer. And of course after re-booting the Actiontec Router everything was fine. Best to cover EVERYTHING in the re-boot.
    Thanks again.

  • Samsung WiFi printer can't connect to new Quantum Gateway router?!

We recently replaced our 3-year-old router with the latest Quantum Gateway router and upgraded fios speed from 25/25 to 50/50.
Every device (PC, phones, tablets, and TV) was able to connect to the new network.  BUT, our Samsung Wifi printer (M283x seriers) cannot connect at all.  With the older router, we were able to access the printer thru Wifi network from two different PCs..
We did not relocate the router and we did not move the printer, so singal strength was not the issue.  We even uninstalled and then re-install printer driver to PC to set up the network again.  Tried every connecting option that Samsung had suggested, but everything failed.
We also tried to log in to Router Admin site to add this printer, didn't work.  WPS was turned on and we couldn't figure out why this new network doesn't add the printer. This router did not like our printer.
One funny thing was that if we turned OFF all the security settings, the router allowed this device to connect to WiFi.
Can anyone help?  Thanks a lot!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have a solution for you.  After upgrading to the Quantum Gateway last week, My Samsung 2835 printer had the same problem. It turns out that the printer doesn't play well with the Quantum Gateway when the Samsung "Wi-Fi Direct" function is enabled.  All you have to do is log in to the printer web page. Then, under Settings--> Network Settings--> Wi-Fi Direct... Turn Wi-Fi Direct off using the drop down menu.  Hit "Apply", then power cycle the printer. After this you can use WPS or manually configure the printer and it will connect right away.  Thank the Verizon technical guy J.W.  for figuring this one out by capturing the Wi-Fi traffic between the Gateway and printer.

    Hello @Emilio66,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing issues when trying to print from Microsoft Office and Test Pages from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer. However, you are able to print from all other programs from your computer to your printer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this printing issue.
Recently Microsoft has released a Hot Fix to correct 'Offline' or 'Partial Printing' issues within their latest Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Operating Systems as they recognize this as an issue within their Operating System. The issue occurs when you have a networked printer and a corruption with the WSD (network) port on the Windows Operating System. This issue appears to affect a variety of networked makes and models of printers. Therefore, I am going to have you run the Hot Fix to correct the network printing issue. Please click here to install the Hot Fix. Once the website opens select the button for Hotfix Download Available. Please follow any onscreen prompts to install the fix. Once the fix is installed you should have no issues printing to your printer.
If the printing issue persists, can I please have you click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix printing' issues for you. Should any driver, software, or connection conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you. Once the Tool has completed please test printing again.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Can't connect to wifi printer.

Since upgrading to BT Infinity I haven't been able to connect to my wifi printer (Epson Stylus SX535WD). The new home hub is up and running but I can't see how to connect to the printer. When I go to the printer's set-up mode and select 'Wifi Auto-Connect', I get the error message: 'No computer found. Check wifi/network device and condition. Try again.'
I tried deselecting the printer from the Mac's printer list, with the idea of adding it again, but now no printers appear at all when I press the + button. So first I need to add the printer once again and then find how to connect to it. I'm using OS X (10.8.5). Any ideas anyone?

Follow Apples instructions for installing a WI-FI printer in OS X Mountain Lion: Set up a printer to print wirelessly. If you have to first use the Reset Printing System feature.

  • Unable to connect to wifi printer

I am unable to connect my ipad to the wifi printer since I upgraded to iso7. All other computer connect to the printer which means it's the ipad to printer problem

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
No data is lost due to a reset.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

  • My printer kicks all my other wireless devices offline when I connect it to my new router.

I have the 6500 wireless printer (e709n model).  When I connect my printer to my home network it kicks all other devices that are connected offline (laptops, desktops, ipad, ipods, etc.).  If I turn the printer off and reset the modem then all those devices can connect again but the printer isn't.   I've tried numerous times and each time the printer is turned on and connected to the router I have the same result.  I am using a Net Gear router (model N900).  Anyone seen this before?

    Herculean,
    Thanks for sharing that post.
    Definitely some great tips.
That was the direction I was headed in and hope it resolves the issue at hand.
Another step that can help is to set a static IP address in the printer itself.  The steps for this can be located by clicking on Support & Drivers at the top of this page and entering your product model.  Once the support page for your printer loads, select Solve a Problem and then Wireless Networking.  The steps should be located in a document that is titled Printer Does Not Maintain a Wireless Connection (wording may be slightly different).
The trick here is to either leave the DNS servers blank or to use Google's public DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) instead of the router as a DNS server.  I have seen this resolve similar issues, though they are rare.

  • I've been texting my friend with iMessage with wifi on and all of a sudden it changed to text message and won't let me send messages. My wifi is still on and working but it won't switch back to iMessage. Please help

I've been texting my friend with iMessage with wifi on and all of a sudden it changed to text message and won't let me send messages. My wifi is still on and working but it won't switch back to iMessage. Please help

What I recommend you try doing first is to turn iMessage off then back on.  If that doesn't work, make sure that your Apple ID and password are correct.  If everything seems correct and you still can't send out messages using iMessage instead of text message, I think you should either try calling AppleCare at 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466) and/or scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store (that is, if there's one close to you).
    Hope this helps!

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast.  If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used.  The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID .  Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network.  A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default.  Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in.  HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you.  You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files.  Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.
