There are many threads in the OSX Lion section describing wifi problems with 10.7.3 in general.  Personally, I am experiencing wifi drops when my iMac wakes up from sleep.  The issues are not isolated on the MacBook Air, but seem to be affecting all Apple products running 10.7.3.
What problems exactly are you having?

Problem with wifi dropping after installing Yosemite. Any help out there?

There are definite bugs in Yosemite that need to be addressed by Apple. Multiple people are experiencing Wifi issues with fresh installs of Yosemite.
I was experiencing consistent Wifi issues after a fresh install of Yosemite.  I validated that it wasn't my computer or router by doing a fresh re-install of Mavericks.  Wifi works flawlessly under Mavericks but always fails under Yosemite. No other software was installed as part of this test.

  • Wifi problem after.4.3 update on xperia z

    Hi all,
After updating my Xperia Z (C6603) to build number 10.4.1.B.0.101 I've been having connection issues with every Wi-Fi network.
I've checked the forum but I only found problems about people having Wi-Fi issues with their smartwatch, I do not own a smart watch this is just a general networking issues.
    Here's the problem in detail:
When having no Wi-Fi switched on while booting the phone the phone will start without any issues, I will receive my 3G/4G signal and I can browse, e-mail, everything.
Once I switch on Wi-Fi it will start connecting to previously stored Wi-Fi access points but will not connect. Eventually it says that there was a problem with connecting, even though this will take several minutes.
I can go into the Wi-Fi settings, select a different Wi-Fi network (if it is in range) and press connect, however the settings app will freeze at that point and eventually I'll get a notification that the settings app has stopped working.
I have found a "work-around": I switch the Wi-Fi to on, power off the phone and power on again. Now the Wi-Fi connection immediately powers on without an issue once the phone has completely booted, it also will connect to the default Wi-Fi connection that is in range. A different issue appears however once I move out of Wi-Fi range, it will no longer pick up my 3G/4G signal. It is also impossible to switch off Wi-Fi or switch Wi-Fi network connections without rebooting the phone.
As I said before this happened to me after updating to version 10.4.1.B.0.101 after having it received through OTA update. I do not have root access on my phone either so this can't be it.
Is there anyone experiencing the same issues? Is this somehow related to the issues people are experiencing with their smart watch connections (as seen in this topic: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Software-Updates/wifi-problem-after-4-3-update-on-xperia-z/td-p/490591...
If there's anyone who is experiencing the same issues, or has found a fix for this I'd gladly hear from you.
    Regards,

  • A lot of problems after installing Windows XP using Boot Camp on a Mac Book

I have been having a lot of problems after installing Windows XP Home Edition (2002).
For one, after installing Windows using Boot Camp with Mac OS X 10.5.1, I opened Windows on my Mac Book, inserted the Mac OS X Disk 1 as in the instructions and got the message: +"This package requires a newer version of the Windows installer. Do you want to update the version of the Windows Installer on your system?"+ When I clicked Yes (I had NO idea what it meant at the time), I got the message: "The required resource 'UPDATE' is missing" and the Installer quit.
How do I fix this problem?
Another problem I have is that there is no sound on the Windows XP, yet it works perfectly on Mac OS X. Is there any way to fix this problem?
A third problem I have is that I can't wirelessly connect to the internet using Window XP, yet I can on Mac OS X. I have no idea on how to fix this, and it's really messing with me. D:<
D: There are way too many problems, and I have a feeling there will be a lot more later on. Help....

i see that i have a problem after installing my new hard drive on my macbook pro mid 2009 version. I put a new hard drive, with all of my information from my old drive installed on it, into the computer. but now have the blinking question mark folder. I see that it means that it isn't reading the new hard drive.
did i miss a step between transferring all of my information from my old hard drive to the new hard drive and installing the new hard drive into the computer. I believe that i installed properly. it was quite easy.
    thanks for your help

It means there is no bootable system on the drive. If you still have access to the old drive, then I suggest you boot from it then clone it to the new internal drive. Use OPTION boot to boot from the Recovery HD on the old drive:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
         1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu then press the Continue
             button.
         2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
         3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
         4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it
             to the Destination entry field.
         5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
             the Source entry field.
         6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Source means the external old drive. Destination means the new internal drive.

  • Printing problems after installing the Epson Printer Driver 2.16

Has anyone experienced any problems after installing the Epson Printer Driver 2.16 through Software Update? I am having problems printing. It denotes an error message, specifically the rastertoescpii.app isn't working?

Oops, wanted everyone to know that the driver that Software Update downloaded and installed was 2.18, not 2.16 (which was the last one that worked for me). I just got done downloading the 2.18 driver directly from the Apple support website and installing it. Guess what? My printer is now working and everything is fine. If you are having issues, I suggest this route. Guess I solved my own problem, but hope this helps someone else.

  • Problem after installing 10.4.8

    Hello,
I installed the 10.4.8 update today. I have a brand new macbook. When the update finished downloading, my screen just turned blank, my computer didn't react at all. I could hear the fan and that was it.
So, I waited for some minutes, nothing happened. I decided to restart it by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
The computer is working perfectly now and the update was installed. But, how do I know if my computer or the HD were affected? I ran the HD test and it says that the HD seems OK.
Is that a problem with my computer or is it because of the new update? I read a posting that mentioned similar problems after installing the new update.
    Thanks...

How did you update? Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update (delta)?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304200
After installing the delta version of this update on an Intel-based Mac, the computer will restart two times--the first restart after installing this update may take several minutes; please allow it to complete.

great Problemes after installing Yosemite (10.10.2 ) with Photoshop CS6....The program crashes --last time 10 times during my work session..wacomtable doesnt work..it is slow...and get error messages about the graphic card....It s a Terror to work with my beloved Photoshop!

The Yosemite upgrade very often damages existing Photoshop installations.  Thank Apple for that.
You need to uninstall and re-install Photoshop, then apply all the Photoshop upgrades from scratch.
But first, give us details about your setup:
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

  • WiFi problem after upgrading to Windows 8.1 Lenovo R400 ThinkPad

I have this problem after updating to 8 to 8.1
Right after updating to 8 to 8.1, all of a sudden my wifi stops working. I used my philips external wifi usb stick and now I'm able to get the internet going.
However if I disconnect my philips usb I no longer get the internet because the built in wifi that came with the R400 ThinkPad no longer works. I went through the device manager and under properties it tells me, 'Device not working properly' however it is up to date.
Im Running Windows 8.1  64bit  Laptop Lenovo R400 ThinkPad

    Hi Matti,
    Thank you for replying back!
I suggest you to reinstall the Windows 8.1, as all the windows driver will not update, if you have upgraded the Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.
Please download Windows 8.1 separately and reinstall the OS, I hope this may resolve the issue.
Note: I am not suggesting for clean installation, only reinstalling the same OS.
Do not update the drivers from ThinkVantage system update utility. I suggest you to uninstall the current drivers and download the drivers manually for Windows 8.1 and install it.
Below is the link to enter the downloads page and download updates accordingly, please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the MTM no. select the exact model.

    Hope this helps!

  • Problems after installing Windows 7 Professional on Thinkpad T61

I have an old T61 that had Windows Vista installed. I wanted to use Windows 7 but didn't want to wipe out what I already had (for various reasons). So I bought a new disk drive and did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional. The disk drive is a Western Digital Blue Notebook 1TB drive. After installing the drive in the machine, I followed these instructions to install Windows 7: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-74108. I chose to partition the drive into a C: drive (500GB) and a D: drive (431GB). After the install completed, I downloaded all the available Microsoft fixes (this took some time to complete).
For the Device Driver and Application install, I used the ThinkVantage System Update option. The site indicated that Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 or later was required. I downloaded and installed version 4. There were additional Microsoft fixes for version 4, which I downloaded and installed also. Then I downloaded and installed ThinkVantage System Update 5.03. I then executed System Update and selected all the available updates. They all installed, except for Windows 7 Update Module KB2615763 64bit. This update, after failing, gave the option to install manually but when I click on that option I receive a pop up saying: Installer encountered an error: 0xc8000247. The title of the pop up says Windows Update Standalone Installer.
I then attempted to install various applications on the machine: FileZilla FTP Client, Google Chrome, Notepad++, PrimoPDF were all installed without problems. When I installed a Cisco VPN Client for 64 bit machines, however, I was knocked off the network. Clicking on the WiFi symbol in the task bar showed that I had only limited connectivity to the network. I tried to do a IPCONFIG /ALL  and neither the WiFi adapter nor the Ethernet LAN adapter showed up in the list. I uninstalled the VPN Client, from the Control Panel, and was immediately able to connect to the network. An IPCONFIG /ALL now showed all the network adapters. I installed/uninstalled the VPN Client several times just to make sure that it was causing the problem of no network connectivity.
I fgured that there might be updated network adapter drivers available to resolve the problem so I attempted both System Update and Windows Update again. System Update showed nothing available, except Windows 7 Update Module KB2615763 64bit. Windows Update had a message saying "Check for updates for your computer" but when I clicked on "Check for updates" it popped up a message saying "Windows Update cannot check for updates because the service is not running. You may need to restart your machine." I checked and the Windows Update service is running. I stopped and restarted it but received the same message when I tried to check for updates again. I rebooted the machine and tried Windows Update again. Same pop up message.
I tried the "Fix problems with Windows Update" option in the Control Panel but received a message saying - An error occurred while troubleshooting: A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting. The error details say:
    Package ID: WindowsUpdateDiagnostic
    Path: Unknown
    Error Code: 0x8E5E0247
    Source: Engine
I tried some of the other troubleshooting options and they all give similar errors - An error occurred while troubleshooting: A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting.
I then thought it might be a disk drive problem so I tried to do a CHKDSK /F but when the machine reboots the CHKDSK seems to start (there is a message that says it can be interrupted by pressing a key within 10 seconds) then, before the 10 seconds are up, it ends without checking the disk and the machine continues to boot up.
Has anyone seen any of these problems before? Did I miss something? Could this be related to the disk drive? Or missing device drivers? Bios?
Any help with this will be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

A laptop drive that size is almost certainly an AF drive.  You can check by looking up the model's specs on the vendor's site. You can also use the fsutil command to check the drive's physical sector size and verify that the size isn't getting reported correctly - which is what usually causes the update problem.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982018
Expand the "Issue 6 Fsutil.exe tool" entry in that link for more info.  The entire KB may also be helpful.
If my guess is actually the problem you won't have to reinstall Windows 7.  Just update - or roll back  - the driver.  You might first try going to Device Manager, selecting the storage controller, and rolling back to an earlier driver.
If that works, configure ThinkVantage System Update to not show the offending driver, or this will happen again.  If that doesn't do the job, go to Intel's site and find the latest Matrix Storage Manager or Rapid Storage Technology that is specified for your chipset and operating system.  Or just try the latest and if that doesn't work, try earlier ones.
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Software+Products&ProductL...
Here's a local KB addressing this (presumed) issue:  http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-7-Knowledge-Base/Windows-Update-Fails-After-Installing-New-Hard-...
To repeat, this is a bit of a guess.  It's pretty likely that your storage driver is the culprit.  Either you need one new enough to support the physical size reporting ioctl, or you've been bitten by TVSU "updating" to a buggy driver.  Either way the corrrect driver should fix things.
