Wifi problems after update airport configuration

Hello, i have a question about my wifi. After i installed airport configuration 6.1 my computer said there is no wifi hardware installed. Does anybody knows how to fix this?
Or to get back to 6.0 ?

Thank you.
The problem is that I used to have a wifi network that let me go on the internet from my iPad, iPhone and laptop. Two days ago, it disappeared: no access to the internet via wifi from anywhere but my desktop. The old wifi network isn't listed anywhere, on my desktop or other devices that detect wifi.
I access the internet via ethernet from my desktop, via virgin media.
What I want to do is get a home network up and running again. Originally, it was all automatic - I didn't have to know anything to get it working. Then I followed some nifty spec on the forum to slightly alter the address of the device, and my other devices, so that I could use my computer's wifi from my Kindle. For the next 9 months, no problems. Then I casually updated the airport utility and poof, the wifi network vanished. And I don't know how to get a DHCP ID or anything else, because I didn't have to do it originally. I just plugged in my computer and did what I was told to.
This sounds so pathetic. I'm sorry. Is there some way I can just start all over again?

  • LEAP WIFI problem after updated to 4.2.2

I've just upgraded my tablet to 4.2.2.
Now I can't connect to my company's network which uses password LEAP. Major problem for me.
Seems this is a common problem across a number of Android platforms.
Does anyone know how to resolve on the Tab Z (not rooted). ?

We are looking into this (see http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/XPERIA-Z-LEAP-WIFI-problem-after-updated-to-4-2-2/m-p/3...) but at the moment i have no solution. This seems to be a general problem with Android 4.2.2 from what i've been able to find.

  • WIFI problem after update 2.2

Like many users in this forum I also have problems with the wifi connection after updating to 2.2.
I have the first gen iphone, ever functioned without major problems, but after update 2.2. I found out that my iphone looses the wifi connection after some minutes of being turned off and turned on again. Sometimes the wifi is established but most of the times I have to go to the settings and there try to connect to wifi again and again.
Sometimes I get wifi connection after 2 attempts, most of the times it takes up to 8 tries to have wifi again. I restored my phone three times now, hoping this problem would be solved, but in vain.
I also called the Apple support-first I was told to delete the 2.2. software from my itunes folder and then to restore again and let itunes download 2.2 software again - no improvement! At my next call with the Apple-Iphone support, the agent told me that I should delete my router settings, restore the iphone software- no new strategy at all - and that the problem with the wifi after 2.2. is not a well known issue by Apple; I told the agent to google this topic to see that this is a very common problem concerning hundreds of even thousands of users after the update 2.2. At the end of the call I was offered to send the iphone for a repair, which in my opinion is the common solution for support centers if the don´t have any solutions left. I refused to send my iphone to a "useless" repair, because it´s so obvious that the problem is the 2.2. update! I encourage all of you to call the support-hotline and make pressure to get Apple to release a quick update to fix this annoying problem! Happy New Year to all of you!

Thanks for your advice; I´ve resetted the networks setting twice; a little improvement came with this (the wifi-connection now sometimes establishes faster); but still..after having turned on my phone after some minutes paused there´s only "edge" activated. Seems I´ll have to wait for update 2.3 ?

  • Problems After Updating Airport Extreme Software & Firmware

Lost wireless connection to my printer while attempting printing from either desktop or laptop & when I tried to re-establish/update the wireless settings, I received message that new versions of software & firmware were available for my Airport Extreme. After I downloaded & installed both of these, I could no longer connect at all to the Airport Extreme. When I used the Airport Assistant to try to solve problems, it said airport was out of range. Also only got flashing amber light on Airport Extreme no matter how many times I tried to reset it and DSL modem (went through complete re-connect/re-install of both Airport Extreme and DSL modem hardware). I switched to an extra Airport Express I have and now everything is backing working again. Any known problems with either the latest Airport Extreme software (Airport Utility 5.3.2) or firmware (version 7.3.2 I think)?

Firstly, on the Mac you use to configure the AEB, Repair Permissions - /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app. Start Disk Utility, select your HD and click on Repair Permissions. When finished, quit Disk Utility and then restart your computer.
I see you are using 10.4.11, so the steps in Part B may be a little different (this is for 10.5.x).
Use this procedure to setup your network again:
    A. Setup the 'Main' Base Station
    1. Do a factory reset of your AEB (main), then turnoff the DSL Modem and the AEB (main) - leave off for at least 5 minutes to allow servers to reset.
    2. Check that ethernet cables are connected properly:
    - DSL Modem > AEB (main) WAN port;
    - AEB (main) ethernet port > Mac computer running OS X 10.5.x.
    3. Power-on DSL Modem and wait for it to initialise.
    4. Power-on the AEB (main) and start your Mac computer.
    5. Open AirPort Utility and select the AEB (main) in the LH pane. Click 'Continue' and give the AEB (main) a name and an admin password (twice). Click 'Continue'.
    6. Select 'I don't have a wireless network and I want to create one', click Continue.
    7. Give your network a name, select WPA/WPA2 Personal and insert the wireless network password (twice) - use 13 alpha/numeric characters for password. Tick 'Remember this password in my keychain'. Click 'Continue'.
    8. Select 'I connect to the Internet with a DSL or cable modem using DHCP'. Click 'Continue'.
    9. Click 'Update' and wait for the AEB (main) to restart.
    10. Disconnect the ethernet cable between your Mac and the AEB (main).
    B. Setup Client computer
    1. Open System Preferences/Network/AirPort.
    2. Against 'Network Name:' select your network (the name you gave it at A7).
    3. Click 'Advanced' and select TCP/IP. Against 'Configure IPv4:' select 'Using DHCP', then click 'OK'.
    4. Click 'Apply' and exit System Preferences.

  • Wifi problems after updating to OS 10.3.1.1779

    Hello,
after updating my BlackBerry Q10 I have problems with my wifi connection. While surfing on the internet it switches off several times. But theres no problem with my wifi router itself, because the connection with my laptop is ok. Did someone else have that problem?
And/or is there a possibility to "delete" the update and go back to the old version?
    Thank you for your help.

You really need to update to the latest OS 10.3.2.Subject to carrier approvals, BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 is rolling out to customers around the world. As soon as your carrier approves the release you’ll be able to upgrade OTA, via blackberry.com/update or by using BlackBerry Link.
Meanwhile, on your WiFi router, reboot it. Disconnect BOTH the power and the internet input cable for a minute and reconnect both and after a minute and wifi is broadcasting again, reconnect and see how it goes.

  • Airport problems after update Airport Extreeme 2008-004 V.1

Since when i have installed the update Airport Extreeme 2008-004 V.1 my Airport card is giving me problems. The network seams to go down and if i reset the Airport it restart working for a certain time. I have noted that the problem apears most of the times when Time Machine starts the backup on the Capsule (but this is not 100% sure).
I am quite sure the problem is the update because i never had this before.

Did you disconnect all devices from your computer when troubleshooting? Did you restart your computer?
If yes to the above, you may wish to try the repair disk option. Run +repair disk+ from your software install DVD.

  • Wifi problem after updating my phone to ios 7.1.1

    Hello everyone ,
I seems to be having wifi problem on my Iphone 5s. Before I updated my iphone to IOS 7.1, the wireless works just fine and without any disconnection. But now since i updated my phone to 7.1, my phones keep getting disconnected or hardly could connect into it. Sometimes when i go into the wifi setting, it detect the wireless but it says "Unable to join the network". However I'm using the same wireless connection on my laptop in the same location where i stand and my laptop wifi connection work just fine and smooth. What could be the problem? I need a solution.
I've Tried to put it on Airplane mode and reset network settings but still unable to solve it out. Secondly i also tried to reset all setting and hold both home and power button. Nothing is solving this. I need a solution, help please society :')

I am having the same problem since updating to 7.1.1.  I also would appreciate any help.
I have tried the airplane mode and reset network settings with no luck.
Thanks in advance for any solutions provided.

  • WIFI Problem after updated 5800Xm v52

I was unable to connect to the WLAN or wi-fi  after updated the firmware. It has show the icon of is connected but when i start to use the ovi store or the browse. it said is connecting via IBHTWH(which my home wireless modern name) after that is said WLAN connection already active. Close it and try again. I already try to reinstall the firmware already.
    Need help so badly.

Due to the UDP = User Data Preservation feature of your 5800XM which makes firware updating realtively painless it can however lead to data corruption at times. Have you tried returning to factory settings by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lockcode) unless altered by yourself. Be warned that all data would be erased by carrying out this process!

  • Wifi Problem after updating to 3.1.2

so last week i updated my iphone 3G to firmware 3.1.2, and for a few days everything was fine. Then all of a sudden my iphone stopped connecting to wifi. Now from what i've read there have been several issues similar to this, in which the iphone completely stops detecting wifi (which could mean a malfunctioning wifi antenna), however, in my case the phone still finds networks. At home i can see my network, i just can't connect to it, same with at work and school. The most interesting thing is that i am able to connect to my MBP when it's creating a network.
I have tried every troubleshooting measure i can think of, from playing with network setting (eg. static ip, different security, no security) to reformatting the iphone, both restoring from old back up and setting up new phone.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this kind of half dead wifi, and if anyone can offer opinions/ solutions, or even just let me know if they think the wifi is completely broken.
    Thanks in advance,
PS I'm outside of warranty, and i've been told it'll be $229.99 to get it fixed, so I'm really looking for some kind of answer.

It appears you've done everything apple would suggest, but here's their support document on the subject just in case you over looked something:

  • Airport Problems after update and trouble shooting

    Hi There,
I have an Intel iMac and after updating airport i've been having problems with it. I'll be using the internet and all of a sudden it will just disconnect and cannot detect any network connections. Now, i've seen the other posting already about fixing this problem, and I have done what it says to fix the problem by moving the system configuration folder and the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file. After I do this, it works for a few hours but then i have the same problem again. The folder and the file is recreating and i have to follow the same steps and move them again, but then every few hours it keeps getting recreating. Is there something that i can do so i'm not constantly moving the files around and having to re-setup my network. Is there a way to reset Airport to the way it was before i installed the update?
    Thanks

"Is there a way to reset Airport to the way it was before i installed the update?"
Of course you can erase your hard drive and reinstall up to 10.4.7, and not go any higher. The problem is the 10.4.8 update, or some part of it. The many other updates recently posted for different apps are not part of the cause, so those updates can be installed.
"Is there something that i can do so i'm not constantly moving the files around and having to re-setup my network."
Yes, once you've followed the "restart twice" instructions involving preference file deletion, it appears that by turning off AirPort before letting it sleep, restart, or shut down, those two files will not get the same corruption recreated. Afterwards, you should be able to turn on AirPort and after a slight delay of about six to eight seconds AirPort will be able to reacquire your network.
If you forget to turn off AirPort before sleep, restart, or shutdown, then those files will again be corrupted and you'll have to go through the process all over again. I ran through it about 50 times, changing this and that, and that's all I could come up with.
Hopefully someone else out there with a different perspective will be able to figure out what else needs to be done.

  • Wifi problem after.4.3 update on xperia z

    Hi all,
After updating my Xperia Z (C6603) to build number 10.4.1.B.0.101 I've been having connection issues with every Wi-Fi network.
I've checked the forum but I only found problems about people having Wi-Fi issues with their smartwatch, I do not own a smart watch this is just a general networking issues.
    Here's the problem in detail:
When having no Wi-Fi switched on while booting the phone the phone will start without any issues, I will receive my 3G/4G signal and I can browse, e-mail, everything.
Once I switch on Wi-Fi it will start connecting to previously stored Wi-Fi access points but will not connect. Eventually it says that there was a problem with connecting, even though this will take several minutes.
I can go into the Wi-Fi settings, select a different Wi-Fi network (if it is in range) and press connect, however the settings app will freeze at that point and eventually I'll get a notification that the settings app has stopped working.
I have found a "work-around": I switch the Wi-Fi to on, power off the phone and power on again. Now the Wi-Fi connection immediately powers on without an issue once the phone has completely booted, it also will connect to the default Wi-Fi connection that is in range. A different issue appears however once I move out of Wi-Fi range, it will no longer pick up my 3G/4G signal. It is also impossible to switch off Wi-Fi or switch Wi-Fi network connections without rebooting the phone.
As I said before this happened to me after updating to version 10.4.1.B.0.101 after having it received through OTA update. I do not have root access on my phone either so this can't be it.
Is there anyone experiencing the same issues? Is this somehow related to the issues people are experiencing with their smart watch connections (as seen in this topic: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Software-Updates/wifi-problem-after-4-3-update-on-xperia-z/td-p/490591...
If there's anyone who is experiencing the same issues, or has found a fix for this I'd gladly hear from you.
    Regards,

  • Ipad Wifi problem after 7.1.2 update

Hey there! I noticed a big problem after updating my Ipad Air (Wifi Only) to iOS 7.1.2
When I put the device on standby It disconnects from the Wifi network, so I don't receive any push notification. Then when I start using the iPad again, the device reconnects immediately to the Wifi.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
