Wifi problems dont know whats goin on :(

so my wifi is not working correctly, it says that I am connected and have a connection to my network but nothing is working until i plug in an ethernet cable, anyone know whats going on?

I would like to thank everyone who wanted to help, Thanks Paul. I stumbled onto the answer. it was the /etc/hosts file on fc6, the format was different than usual. Changed it back and everything was ok.
