WiFi Quit Working

I have had my iPod touch for a long time. I have an older generation, and a month ago, my wi-fi just quit working. I get a message that says "unable to connect to" which ever network that I am trying to connect to. I have restored it completely, and I have tried everything else that I can think of. My friends and family connect easily with their iPod's. I am not sure why mine won't connect. Any help would be appreciated!!

Have you reset your network settings? Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. When your iPod restarts, try to log back onto your network by tapping Settings > WiFi > Other and entering your network name, security, and password.
You might also want to power cycle your router.
Does your iPod connect to any networks - like free hot-spots? If it does, you can rule out hardware problems. If it doesn't you will need to have it repaired.

The WiFi on my Macbook Air suddenly quit working. I have tried everything to get it to read the signal including deleting the settings and starting over. My two iMacs and my iPad all read the WiFi fine. Can anyone help?

  • My WiFi quit working when I ran Firefox updates. How do I regain access?

Firefox takex an exceptionally long time to load, I had to call my internet provider to regain access to the net and no longer have access to wireless. It looks as though there is a connection but I cannot access WiFi.

Might be corrupted network preferences ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Turn off the base station for about ten seconds then turn it back on.
See if that makes a difference.
Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

  • HT4623 wifi quit working after upgrade

I have paid good money for a product that after 1 1/2 years, it does not work. This issue was not caused by me, miss use, carelessness, or any abuse, it occurred after a software update. After upgrading to iOS7.1, a perfectly functioning iphone4s had an issue. The Wi Fi button is now grayed out, this means I can’t turn on or off the Wi-Fi. I have tried everything that was suggested and still it does not work including a full reset. I even took the iphone into an Apple store and was told, “Yes, this has been an issue, but it’s because your Wi-Fi was going bad anyway”. This Apple employee had never seen me before, has no idea how I use my iphone, how often I use the Wi-Fi, what I had done to correct the issue, how long had this issue been going on, so do I need to say more! This Apple Genius, who I will not name, suggested I get a new iphone!
But my first question was:  If this is an issue seen before, why has a fix/update from Apple not yet been released or at least a notification of a fix/update is coming. His answer was, “again, your Wi-Fi was having issues, and it was going to go out anyway.” (Here was my thought… Maybe, withholding a releasing or notification of a fix/update could force customers into a new iphone. What a novel idea, if Apple uses this I want a piece of the action on all future software updates.)
My next question was:  How did this Apple Genius know that my iphone (as well as other) had a bad Wi-Fi? Oh I got it, because he is an Apple Genius, he knew, “yes, this has been an issue, but it’s because you Wi-Fi was going bad anyway”. “Again, your Wi-Fi was having issues, and it was going to go out anyway.” So, if this is/was an Apple standard answer, it leads me into believe the software upgrade did cause the Wi-Fi issue.  (Here was my thought… If an Apple Genius can predict that my Wi-Fi was going bad, maybe I should have this genius or all of them pick all the future Powerball numbers for me, I swear, I’ll share my winnings… if I win… and the Powerball numbers were picked by the Genius, and he still works at Apple.)
Here is what I want! I want my iphone fixed! I know I’m not the only person with this issue (see the quote above). If the iphone cannot be fixed due to the software upgrade, then allow the software to be downgraded to the previous version, which allowed my perfectly functioning iphone4s to work without any issues. (The only reason I see that not happening, is if, Apple no longer supports the previous software.  Oh, Apple, tell me it’s not true!) The final and best solution as a consumer would be a full replacement of the iphone at no cost. Heck, I’ll even take a refurbished phone, as long as it works.
I look forward to hearing from you very soon,

  • Why does wifi not work since loading IOS 6

I have had a iPhone 4s since it was released...  I uploaded IOS 6 & my iphone 4s wifi rarely & barely works...  All my other computing wifi devices work fantastic because I have 20+ mb/s download speeds...  iPhone 4s downloads at 1 to 3 mb/s or not at all...   Apple replaced my iphone in Oct, the wifi worked briefly then quit...  Yesterday Apple replaced my iphone again, it didn't last 24 hours & the wifi quit working...
My wife's iphone 4s has quit working too after updating to IOS 6...
Can we go back to IOS 5 or is there another solution...
Been to the Genius Bar & their only solution is to give you another iphone or wait for another software update...
They recognize the issue too, but have no zero solutions...

    How has it stopped working?
ARe you on wifi or cellular data?

  • WiFi stops working after install of latest 10.8.5 update on MacBook 5,1 third time reinstall OS X

WiFi stops working after install of latest 10.8.5 update on MacBook 5,1 third time reinstall OS.
MB used as email and surfing tool when on vacation. Worked fine for months. Installed the latest security patch (update) and WiFi quit working. Two days later (still on vacation) WiFi started working again and worked fine for the next 2 days.
Came home and formatted and reinstalled 10.8.5 and all was fine again. We are selling the MacBook and setup new user, everything worked fine.
The update came up again so I decided to install it and WiFi instantly stopped working after the restart.
Does anybody have any idea what is happening.
    Thanks

Not really, although WiFi has been a longstanding problem for lots of people. I fix for some breaks others.
However, if you are trying to sell it, you need to revert it back to the OS that shipped with it. You cannot sell your copy of Mountain Lion with the Mac. It is only licensed to you.
You also need to include the system disks that came with the Mac. If it came with Leopard (10.5), and you have a Snow Leopard (10.6) disk, you can install that if you provide that disk also.

  • Why do I keep getting the message that iTunes is quitting working?  I have reinstalled iTunes and I have checked the WiFi twice.  I have even put the internet cable directly into the laptop and still I cannot connect to the iTunes.  Offers no solutions.

Why do I keep getting the message that iTunes is quitting working?  I have reinstalled iTunes and I have checked the wifi twice.  I have even put the internet access cable directly into the laptop.  The message says that windows will look for a solution but never offers any solution.

Try disconnect your internet, then launch iTunes.
Connect your device, then reconnect your internet.
See if this resolves the issue.

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device, without using the latest backup, in case it contains corrupt data. How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • Wifi sync with iPhone quit working

It was working fine until I ripped a couple of CD's into ITunes.  Then the wifi sync quit working.  My iPhone 4 IOS5 simples has a line that says "waiting for iMac".  It does sync fine with the USB cord so it's only a bother to get out the cord.  Probably shouldn't complain but it is curious that it did work fine and then just quit.

Well, it seems like I fixed it by enabling port forwarding in advanced, enabling zero config in device directory, and then restarting both devices. Not sure exactly what it did, but now I can wifi sync. So I'm pretty happy!

  • WIFI Quit after upgrade to firmware 3.1.

My WIFI quit after upgrading from 2.1.1 to 3.1. It worked twice since the upgrade for a period of an hour or so. I have tried to reset the network, All settings, serveral reinstallation of the firmware. I also Tried to manually enter in my WIFI information, with no success. I tried everything. I can see wifi information when I go into the general settings>About> Wi-Fi Adress 00:1c:b3:48:ce..... My warrenty is no longer valid. Any suggestions???

I've now posted these changes at two other WiFi threads. Try these Settings changes:
    The Setting changes are:
Fetch New Data > Push: Off
Fetch settings are set to Manual & in Advanced all is set to Manual.
My iPhone also lost WiFi but with the changes above it now connects though it takes a bit longer to find the signal. No longer have Push but WiFi is more important, to me anyway. Another iPhone user had success with the above changes.
    Good luck.

  • Wifi problem - working very slowly

So I'm working off a 13-inch MacBook Pro (mid-2012) with 10.9.2, and my wifi was working fine up until a few days ago.
Since then, it's been quite slow, and I tested the speed today, and it's working on a download speed of about 2Mbps.
My subscribed broadband speed is 120Mbps, and it seems to be functioning fine on other devices (iPhone 4, PC), and when I use ethernet to my MacBook, it's working fine.
Is there a problem with my Airport or is a settings isse? I haven't changed any settings over the last couple of days, as far as I know, that could have caused this. Any help would be much appreciated!

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
Run Software Update and install all available updates for OS X or your computer's firmware. Any change?
If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they the same?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
Start up in safe mode and test. Any difference?
Start up in Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?
