Wifi signal working on my MacBook, but not on my IPhones. Why?

I've been having trouble with my network signal strength for the last few weeks since my service started. My ISP is DirecTV.
Today, my service went down completely and after I called them, it came back about an hour later. I now have Internet service on my MacBook, but not on any of my mobile devices, including IPhones. They are unable to see the base station.
I've rebooted many times. Occassionally, it will see my network signal, but then it drops off. I have a Motorola SB5101 Modem. One thing I do know from calling DirecTV so often is that the tech on the phone today did change my IP address. Does that have anything to do with my problem?
My fear is that if I call them again, I will once again be without any Internet access, so I'm waiting patiently on a Thursday appointment, but if I can do anything to fix it now, I'd like to. Thank you.

there might be something different on the mac you can try appleid.apple.com and reset your password i would also check the mac to see which appleid is signed you may have multiple apple ids and not know

Unfortunately, the recording & movie industry does not respect the rights of the people who make them money, and thus you can only use the paid-for content in ways they see fit. Even if I lived in a bunker where no one else could possibly see the movie I paid for, therefor I'm not 'sharing it illegally', I would still not be allowed in a blue moon to copy that movie to DVD for TV viewing. Someone will tell you to get an AppleTV. How about Apple give us one for free? Until this changes, people wanting to use their content in multiple locations will continue to download music & movies via torrents, legally or illegally.

there might be something different on the mac you can try appleid.apple.com and reset your password i would also check the mac to see which appleid is signed you may have multiple apple ids and not know

Why is my Apple id working on my MacBook but not my iPad? I can log in o.k. on my MacBook, but using the same user name and password on my iPad, I just get the Incorrect Apple ID or Password message.
on my iPad, I have used the Forgotten Apple ID or Password link and reset the password. Even after I get the successfully reset password message it still gives me the Incorrect Apple ID or Password message!
In desperation I have restored the iPad to Factory settings. It appears to be running OS 7. something.
My Macbook is running 10.8.5.

You would have to change it back to your old email address in order to turn off "Find My iPhone" on your devices. After you changed it back to your old address and deactivated "Find My iPhone" (activation lock) you could change your Apple ID to your new address again. Now it should wok on all your devices.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

F2 is the up-brightness button, F1 is the down-brightness button, usually, on PowerBooks. If for some reason the F1 button got held down for a couple of seconds, the display would go completely dark.
That being said, if the backlight does not come up (easily determined by seeing if the Apple outline on the cover is lit up) then the most likely suspect would be the inverter board, or the connection to the inverter board. If this is a Titanium PG G4, the inverter board is easy and relatively inexpensive to replace. For the Aluminum models, I don't know if that is quite so true.

I have read so many answers to the question about Airplay not working both here and the internet.
Can someone give me the definative answer why I can Airplay from iTunes but not from the Macbook Pro itself i.e. no menu icon or setting to mirror.
Everyone seems to say its the age of the computer or its the firewall or the wind is blowing in the wrong direction.
Why if I can do it oneway (iTunes), I can not do it directly?
I am using a 2011 macbook pro 10.9.3 and a apple tv 3.
Is there a hack or work around with out purchasing more software.

I have a C6380, The printer works with my laptop running Vista and MacBook but not Windows 7. Why??

I have had my C6380 for quite a while, now. I have a personal laptop running Vista and have no problems. I have a MacBook for work that I use with the printer with no problems. I also have a desktop that was working well for a long time with this printer and for the last number of months (I haven't counted), I have been having a lot of problems.
Either the computer cannot find the driver or the computer delivers a message that the printer is off line (even though it works with the other computers). I use the C6380 via a home wireless network.
Reinstalling the HP Software helps for a short time, but the problem soon recurs.
I cannot seem to find anything in any of the Trouble shooting guides on HP or MS websites. HELP!

If it works on one Firefox 3.6.10 installation, it should work on the other - assuming both PC's have exactly the same version of Norton installed, including that Firefox Toolbar extension. Another possibility is that Norton uses a different version of their software on WinXP than they use on Vista.
Tools > Addons > Extensions - does the Norton Toolbar show as being incompatible?
You could try forcing a Norton program update to see if their Firefox extension gets updated.

Wi-fi at home: it works with my laptop, but not with my iphone

Hey guys. I just got an iphone and i cannot connect to my wi-fi network, but i can with my laptop (it's an hp). Does anyone know anything that i can do to connect? It is password protected, but i entered the password with iphone. Also, when I turn the iphone on after sleep mode, it picks up the network signal, but when i try to go onto the internet or itunes it does not work. Thanks a lot guys!

I had the exact same problem, your wireless router has a firewall set up not allowing you to access the wi-fi. You need to go to your firewall security setup and you will see your firewall encryption, that's the password your iPhone wants. If the letters are seperated by comma's, do not enter them. For example, I have 128bit encryption, which has 13 sets of letters/numbers seperated by commas, without commas I have a total of 26. Enter that as shown and you should be able to use your wifi at home.

Applet works in applet viewer but not browser...why?

I won't go into the code, but here's my problem: I work on my applet using Eclipse and its appletviewer, and the applet works fine. I test my applet once in a while by packing all class files and graphics into a jar file, copying it and html file to my desktop and opening the html file. Before, this would work (the applet would get all its info from the jar file), but now... I get a nullpointer exception when I open the browser. If this were to happen in Eclipse, I'd have some way of tracking it. Is there some way of tracking this problem when its seen in a browser?

Main Menu works in FF + IE7, but not IE6... why?

These main navigation buttons work fine in FF and IE7, but
according to a
friend of mine still running IE6, they don't seem to work in
IE6.
Could someone tell me why?
(This is strictly a CSS problem.)

ICloud outgoing mail works on my Mac but not on my iPhone

After adding my iCloud (.me and .icloud) mail accounts to OSX Mail I was then not able to send mail from the .me account. This was solved by manually adding the SMTP details.
But the problem is persisting on my iPhone with the same account. I have of course checked that the 'Sync Mail Accounts' button in iTunes is ticked, but this still has not fixed the issue.
Any ideas?

The real "me.com" account does not exist since me servers were retired in summer of 2012. Your actual server is icloud.com. So check if you can send emails from icloud.com email. If you can, you can always make sure that your recipient sees me.com email from you by changing "From" box in new mail. When you tap on that from email, you will see all the options, including me and icloud. If you do not see icloud, the way to add it to the phone is to go to settings on the phone, click icloud and turn on mail switch. I do not think you would be able to sync that mail account over itunes.

Sounds like the person didn't wipe the device first before giving to you. They need to do that with THEIR ID, before you can use yours.
