WIFI stopped finding any networks

Hi all.
My iPhone is a 3g 16gb with 2.2.1 firmware.
I've had it for a few months now and it was working perfectly, so was the WIFI.
Three days ago, all of a sudden it stopped finding ANY networks!
I tried to hard reset the iPhone, that didn't work. I tried restoring it to 2.2.1, that didn't work as well.
My friend's iPhone 3g and my laptop do find all the networks my iPhone used to find.
I read these articles, but they were irrelevant:

The device didn't fall or get bumped.
Is anyone familiar with this problem?

It has been found (by third parties) that part of the problem with all these iPhones that no longer connect to WiFi networks could be due to the WiFi chip suffering damage and shutting down due to heat from the battery at a certain charge level. There are no specifics or confirmation from Apple (likely never will be). But this is something a lot of people come here and ask about.
If your WiFi has stopped working and restores do not work you have a hardware problem. You should contact Apple and they will replace your iPhone.

IPad2 wifi not finding ANY networks on iOS 7.0.4

I am helping my friend with her ipad2. I wish she had brought this problem to me before her warranty expired, but she did not. This problem with the wifi has been going on since before the warranty expired.
It had wifi signal dropping and connection issues with iOS6 but they were sporadic or on and off. So decided to upgrade the iOS to 7. It was sporadic after updating the iOS to 7, but now it doesn't find ANY networks at all. I've tried every fix I have found on the internet to no avail. It is out of warranty. Any ideas?
Things I have tried:
-turning Airplane Mode on and off
-turning wifi on/off and and turning on Ask to Join Networks
-turned Bluetooth off
-reset Network Settings and every other reset setting listed on my ipad
-restored ipad to factory settings after backing up
-changed the name of ipad to remove apostrophe
-turned brightness all the way up
-tried it in different locations
Most recently I tried to connect it to my wifi when I am about 8 feet from the router and MY 2 ipads (one of those is an ipad2) work no problem in my house (and don't have to be within 6 ft of the router).
I am not sure if there is another 'fix' I've tried that I forgot to list above-I've done so many. But any ideas I found online I have tried.
I am at the point thinking of calling in to Apple for support which will cost $35. But if it's hardware related I am guessing my friend will be $35 poorer and no closer to a fix. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Wifi cant find ANY network!!!!!!!!!

My iphone 4s won't connect or cant find any WiFi network, and i know its not my WiFi because everything else in the house connects, I've tried everything, resetting my phone, network everything! still nothing and sometimes it'll even grey out when i reset and when i can finally get it to work, it works for a couple of minutes and lose connection again.

Try searching this forum for the hundreds of other threads about this very issue.

i've got macbookpro 13" core i7 for a year . about 2 days ago the wifi cant find any networks, i installed win7 on my mac already & wifi still working good but on mac os lion 10.7.0 can't find anything. when turn mac on , in the first time finds networks but can't join (a connection timeout occurred) after this message can't find anything . i tried to reset the SMC, PRAM,NVRAM & update my OSx to 10.7.4 & remove the contents of Library > Prefrences but those aren't effective. im so disappointed ( && router works correctly) .... Wifi stopped finding networks!

i am experiencing the same problem that most are having with the wifi suddenly not working anymore. it doesnt find any networks. have tried all the things that have not worked for anyone (restore network setting etc) and dont know what to do. i live in south africa and so we do not have these genius bars so dont know how i can get it replaced... does anyone know if apple has mentioned if the 3.0 will fix this problem?

Did you reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up?
You will not lose any data doing a reset.
Next step would be to restore the phone without using the backup, you might have corrupt files on your phone.

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6 Notebook and your Wireless adapter not working. Here is a link to fix the Wireless. It shows you the HP Support Assistant that has a built in Wireless diagnostics. 1. Open device manager
2. Open up network adapters
3. Right click on the WiFi Adapter for the pc and left click on properties How many do you see? If there is a Microsoft adapter right click and uninstall. Restart the Notebook. Please let me know how this goes.

I updated my 4S phone to IOS 7.1.2 and lost my wi-fi. The wi-fi is on, but can't find ANY networks. They tried all the exact same steps I did, took the phone apart and looked at and said it is in "pristine" condition. They have no idea why it isn't working, but they could offer to sell me another phone. This is extremely annoying! They claim it has nothing to do with the update to 7.1.2, but that is when I lost the wi-fi, so it has to be related!

Checked the older discussion of the same type and found solution, well kind of... Thanks to other people who tried it, I just cannot remember their names at the moment. So, the solution for me was to turn off the firewall in the system preferences and suddenly lo and behold there was my network.

Windows cannot find any networks

hi all
my dsl network connection is not being discovered by vista all of a sudden i tried all possible means but in vain any help would be greatly appreciated!
the error message says "windows cannot find any networks"
its an adsl connection connected through a local area network

IPhone 3GS, doesn't find any network after updating to iOS 4.1

I recently updated my iPhone 3GS, and now I can't find any network. This really bothers me as I need a phone. How can I fix this?

Do the following in the order specified:
1. Power your phone off, wait ~30 seconds, then power it back on. If no change, proceed:
2. Reset your phone: Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release(ignore the slide to power off). If no change, proceed:
3. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
If no change after the above, post back.

Check to see that you are using the cable and charger that came with the iPad, especially the charger itself. If you are trying to charge using the PC, it's USB ports are likely not capable of delivering enough current to properly charge the iPad.
