Wifi - Touch doesn't accept password but then connects anyway...
I've just bought a 32gb 3rd gen Touch.
When trying to connect to my home network after entering the network password I get "Unable to connect to the network 'Network name'". When I dismiss this message for some reason the Touch then connects to the wi-fi perfectly. However the connection seems to get lost everytime the Touch is left for a few minutes and 'goes to sleep'. The password then needs to be entered again to reconnect - with the same problem again...
For what it's worth a friend was able to connect his 2nd gen Touch with no problems to my home wi-fi connection which makes me think it's not a problem with router settings.
My Touch connects fine to the wifi network in the Apple Store in London (which does not need a password). Following discussion with a member of staffthere I've tried turning on MAC filtering, but this makes no difference.

I find that odd, considering you say you have MAC address filtering turned ON... that should mean that any friends would NOT be able to connect at all! Maybe the Siemens MAC address filtering is buggy and affecting how you connect with the WPA password... wipe out all devices in the MAC address list AND turn it OFF. Do BOTH in case it's flaky... then reboot router to be sure.
I've seen my Netgear do some very strange things with two seemingly unrelated settings were activated in combination. I've also seen my Belkin act like a firewall between wired & wireless devices on the same side of the LAN! (known bug for that model rev).
You also have no problem connecting your iPod to other Wifi networks which would again point to your router.
This Siemens Router is also a DSL modem? If so, another option you might have is to go in and turn off the wifi entirely... just use the Siemens as a DSL modem... then connect a brand new wireless router to your LAN to handle the Wifi traffic.
SIDENOTES:
Ideally, as stated before, MAC address filtering is useless as a security measure. Leave it OFF to reduce complexity... then use a WPA2 password for maximum secure data encryption.

While updating my apps, I lost my wi-fi connection. I have since tried to update the apps several times...but none of them are updating. Each time I try to update the apps, I enter my password, but then nothing happens. Thank you - Chris
Hold the power button and the home button down until the screen goes black and the apple logo appears. This will do a reset and you should be able to update your apps then.

when i signed in it recognized my name and password

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu. Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow instructions in the dialog window that will appear.

Xperia Z1, latest Firefox (from play market). ANY site (even gmail) doesn't accept password for log-in (always wrong) on portrait keypad mode. When i switch to landscape mode everything is ok.
At this time Google Chrome doesn't have any problems, password is accepted in portrait mode of keyboard.Even FF doesn't log in to that site in portrait mode, except Chrome browser.

What type of encryption are you using with your wireless network -WEP or WPA?
If your wireless router supports both which it should unless it is quite old and you are using WEP, try switching to WPA which is much more secure than WEP which is important if you have a Windows PC or any Windows based device connected to your network.
In addition, when was the last time you checked Netgear's website to see if there is a firmware update available for your wireless router model that you haven't installed? -
I can login with password, but then it wont unlock anything
So yeah. recently restored OS X onto a new hard drive, and set the password for my account. Set it up under System Preferences>Security to require a password when waking up. All was well until the next time the computer went into screen saver, and I tried to wake it.
The password doesn't work, and I have to hard cut off my computer so that I can get back to the login screen to type the same password and log into the account.
I then tried to change my password for the account under System Preferences>Accounts but then I noticed that I can-t unlock the little lock thing in the corner, because the password doesn't work.
So I put in my install disc and reset the account password. Went and logged in. Still can't unlock anything. All I can do with the account password is simply log in from the log in screen.
So then I tried deleting the login keychain and restarting my computer.
No difference.
Oh, and I also reset the administrator account while I was on the install disc. Made the password a little different, and tried it. Didn't work.
So basically, what the heck do I do to change the password so I can actually use my computer?You know hopefully the issue is resolved, agreed, but if not reset you default keychain. Sounds intense but http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1544 will make short work of it. it will reset your keychain obviously, and you will have to reenter a few passwords (mail, etc) but it will use your newly created admin password to make the new keychain. Resolves a world of issues!

My iPod shows the itunes stor symbol with a connector going in to it - when I connect my iPod to my Apple Mac it asks me to enter my Apple id which I do - and then it asks me to enter on my iPod my passcode which of course I cannot do as my iPod is frozen - any advise would be helpful - thank you.
Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then connect to your computr and restore via iTunes.

It's entirely possible. And it sounds like you already know what needs to happen in order to correct it. I'm afraid you won't be able to salvage any data that hasn't been included in your latest backup of the device via iTunes.

After upgrade GDM accepts password but doesn't login
I've upgraded system tonight. Then I restarted the system. Now GDM (Gnome Display Manager) shows me the login window, I type password, then I see black screen and then GDM shows the login window again.

When all this is going on can you open and surf the web on the browser?
All your errors can be from no internet connection also.
It seems wide spread it could also be from a update to facetime possibly.
