    I have iPhone 4s wchick cannot connect on wifi,wifi is grayes out and says"No wifi",i restart my phone,i reboot it and finally i restore it the problem remains,i put it on a freezer for more than 5 minutes and works for 1-2 minutes,but when outside temperature returns on the phone still can't connect on Wifi!what to do?
    Anyone having the same problem?My iPhone 4s its not 6 months old!

    Try restoring your phone usng DFU mode. Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.

  • IPhone 4s no longer connects to wifi, wifi is greyed, FaceTime no longer works

    I have been having issues ever since the iOS 5.1.1 update and I thought with the iOS 6, all these bugs would be fixed. Unfortunately they have not. My iphone's wifi has not worked for several months now. I believe it is the reason my FaceTime no longer works. Weird thing is, is that I can still receive FaceTime calls, but cannot make them myself. The wifi section in settings is greyed and I cannot even switch it back on. It's permanently in the off position. What is going on with my phone . Dissapointed in my Apple product.
    PS- We have an Apple wireless home router, top of line, and we have everything Apple in our house specifically to deal with disconnect issues. My iPad works great at home, same with Apple tv. I know it's my phone.

    If it doesn't help you likely have a hardware failure. As your phone is still in warranty take it to an Apple store. Make an appointment first.

  • IPhone 5s: Intermittent wifi; wifi signal is full but phone not connected to internet

    Hi all, I have a strange wifi connectivity problem.
    At home:
    iPhone 5s connects normally to wifi, but after several minutes of usage (particularly browsing the internet), wifi signal remains full but safari states that phone is not connected to internet. Other apps like whatsapp also don't work. When I disable wifi then enable it again on my phone, I can connect to the internet temporarily again, but after a few seconds it disappears again. If I leave it for a while, it automatically connects again, but intermittently and unpredictably. All in all, unreliably.
    At home, MacBook Air works fine with no connectivity issues.
    At other wifi locations, the same iphone 5s has no problems at all with wifi connectivity.
    Also, I have already
    - reset phone
    - reset network settings on phone
    - reset router
    - unplugged and replugged modem and router to wall switch
    - previous iPhone 4 on iOS 7 had no issues with home wifi
    Thus, I am uncertain if this is a phone or wifi issue. My best guess would be that it is a compatibility issue between the iPhone 5s and my home wifi?
    Any suggestions as to where I could start solving this problem would be very appreciated! Thank you:)

    If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPhone. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
    First, test your iPhone on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
    If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
    If your iPhone does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPhone is bad.
    If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

  • Macbook 2GHZ Core2Duo OS X 10.8 WIFI WIFI WIFI

    Oh dear,
    Updated my macbook from leopard to ML. Erased the drive, did a clean install, did the first lot of udpates and now my wifi isn't appearing on the top right menu bar.
    Gone into network but there is no wifi option.
    Went into system profile and the wifi (under the network tab) only shows 'software versions, no physical hardware).
    I have tried  a new HD, along with 2 x clean installs. I even went back to Snow Leopard to try that, still same.
    Now what?
    Have tried all sorts of fixes and patches etc, to no avail.....
    VERY dissapointed.

    I have tried  a new HD.....
    It sounds like a hardware problem since you tried everything. If you installed the hard drive yourself (unknown), you may have disconnected the wifi board.
    Try a SMC reset.
    It makes perfect sense for you to take it to the shop.

  • Macbook Pro 10.7.5 internet will not work. HELP!!! Ethernet and WIFI both say connected but still no internet.

    I have a macbok pro running 10.7.5. My internet has always worked on it but I decided to try changing my router set up - the set up didn't work so I reverted back to the original setup that had previously worked.
    Now, I have an Imac running tiger - I can connect to the internet via WIFI or Built In Ethernet with no problem.
    When I try to connect to the internet on the Macbook Pro running osx 10.7.5 my internet will not work
    Safari Says (You are not connected to the internet) and Google Chrome says (Page is Unavailbe) and lists some trouble shooting options that I tried.
    When I go to System prefrences > Network my WIFI and Ethernet both say "Connected" and have a green light next to them.
    I have tryed deleting the connections and starting new ones and I have even tried deleting the Location and starting a new one.
    Nothing works - no matter what I do, even know the WIFI or ETHERNET says Connected, the internet will not work on the Macbook Pro.
    The Internet works fine on my Imac and I have tried everything such as swaping cables but there doesn't seem to be a problem with my internet
    or with my router - it all works fine with my Imac running Tiger.
    Can anyone help me get my internet working on my Macbook Pro again? Any ideas?

    Hello ASGR.SYS amd WahWar,
    I tried both of your suggestions and neither of them worked.
    ASGR SYS - When I tried it your way i got a message saying that the that the diagnostic couldn't repair the problem. It shows the thw WIFI, WIFI SETTINGS, NETWORK SETTINGS, ISP, all turn green. But the Internet and Sever stay red. The thing is, there is nothing wrong with my internet connection as I can connect to the internet on my Imac running tiger, both through ethernet and wireless. When I go to System Prefrences and Ntwork the WIFI and ETHERNET both say "Connected" even know I can't veiw any websites.suggestion
    When I tried WAHWAR's suggestion I get a message that says cannot connect to the WIFI network and then it lists your typical trouble shooting tips. Like Make sure you entered the right password and make sure you are in range of the wireless network
    Again, just to confoirm - My internet connection is working fne both the WIFI and the Ethernet. When I use it on my IMAC running tiger, everything connects as it should and it works perfectly. But when I try to connect with the MacBook Pro, Even know the connections in the Network settings window show up as "connected" the MacBook still seems to think that my internet connection isn't working at all.
    I have tried creating new connections, creating new locations, and I have even gone as far to reset my router and start completely from scratch. The result so far has been the same - the IMAC running tiger will connect - my blackberry and iphone will connect - but the macbook pro running lion will not connect..
    I'd apprechiate any other suggestions

  • My macbook air will not detect my home wifi anymore!

    In Summary:
    Macbook air used to work perfectly on home wifi
    Wifi dropped one day and all devises lost connection but when the wifi was fixed the MBA wouldn't detect it anymore even though all other devises did
    MBA still works on all other wifi networks
    How can I get my MBA to detect the home wifi again / why won't they link anymore?
    My home wifi (Sky is the provider) dropped one day because the lines went down but after it was fixed the macbook air (2012) stopped detecting it..
    The macbook will detect any other wifi network (office, public, friends houses etc) and works perfectly but will not even pick up the home wifi.
    This is particularly confusing because all other devises including iphones, laptops, tablets etc will detect my home wifi without a problem.
    The only time it has connected to the home wifi since dropping is when my laptop picked up my neighbour's wifi (which is rare where i live as houses are far apart) and then my home wifi showed up and worked perfectly until i closed the MBA and it wouldnt pick it up again
    I have been without internet in my house for c. 6 weeks now even though the laptop appears to work ok on other networks and the home wifi works perfectly with other devices
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Go to System Preferences > Network. Select Wi-Fi or AirPort from the left column. Click the Advanced... button.
    Under the Preferred Networks list, select every Wi-Fi network that appears, including the one(s) you want to use, and delete every one using the "–" (minus) button. Select the box "Remember networks this computer has joined" if it is not already selected.
    OK then Apply.
    Select your wireless network in your Mac's Wi-Fi menu and provide your wireless network password. Be sure the network you select is yours and not someone else's.

  • How to set netctl to have eth0 up and wifi

    I didn't find the clear answer, yet.
    My situation require to connect via wifi and a access point hooked on eth0 to serve more wifi users. The system works, but I must enable the eth0 manually.
    This is my setting ( a small ASCII drawing )
                 +-----------------+                                               +------------+                                                    +------------+                 /
                  |    modem/      |                                                |                 |                                                      |                 |                 /
    web----   |   router          |-----<< WiFi        WiFi >>-------|  Arch Box |-----Ethernet---------------------------| Access     |-----<<<WiFi -
                  |   192.168.1.1 |                          192.168.1.2    |                 |   <192.168.2.2       192.168.2.1> |   Point      |                 \
                 +-----------------+                                               +------------+                                                    +------------+                  \
    Here's my setting
    $ ip route
    default via 192.168.1.1 dev wlan0 proto static
    192.168.1.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.2 metric 9
    192.168.2.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.2.2
    During boot I face privoxy failure because it's looking on the ethernet to be available, that it isn't automatically up, as the wifi should take priority.
    I configured a profile for route like
    $ cat /etc/netctl/wired
    Description='A basic static ethernet connection'
    Interface=eth0
    #Connection=ethernet
    IP=static
    Address=('192.168.2.2/24')
    Routes=('default metric 1 via 192.168.1.2')
    #Gateway='127.0.0.1'
    DNS=('127.0.0.1')
    DNS is managed by pdnsd. Also the internet sharing is working and iptables is finely set. Only the bother to re-enable the ethernet every boot.
    I'm afraid it doesn't start the wired configuration by netctl-systemd, At the moment I don't will to shut down, so I can't ensure that is possible. I most of my trial didn't work, then I just have to do the old style ifconfig eth0 192.168.2.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 up and restart privoxy.
    Any advice, please.

    The Ethernet connection is used to get into my box (sets as a server), which provide Internet sharing, by some nice junk filtering.
    Then for my box the route to Internet is on 192.168.1.1, that is the gateway.
    The second route is an incoming route which will follow the the 192.168.1.1 branch. Maybe it's defined as bridge, but it isn't something of my knowledge.
    Practically we, family members, might chose either to connect to the modem directly or to my AP, the disadvantage to go directly, conflicts with my box, slower DNS and a big bunch of advertisement.
    So, the traffic starts from the right hand side to go to Internet (on the shown sketch). The AP just take newcomers to go to my box, via Ethernet connection.
    So yesterday I waited to stop, to much traffic. But this morning I restarted, because of new kernel too, but the netctl profile blatantly failed on me at the first trial. The I got back to the elder style to get things going. But I do believe that it should have a chance to start automatically.
    I read the wiki, but no one mention about this kind of lay-out.
    Furthermore, I should arrange privoxy to look out this and start after

  • BB Link thinks it has a WiFi connection so backup won't run

    Summary: BB Link thinks that it has a WiFi connection when WiFi is switched off and phone is connected by USB.
    Computer: Dell E5550 OS Win 7, SP1, 64 bit.
    Link 1.2.3.56
    Phone: BB Q10, OS 10.2.1
    Problem:
    The phone is plugged in to a USB port and the computer responds by making a sound and installing two BB devices in Device Manager neither of which has a yellow question mark.  The phone pops up to say that it is now connected to the computer.  The WiFi in both computer and phone is still switched off by default.  The phone has been shown to work normally with Link in three other computers (32 & 64 bit)
    Link should start automatically but does not do so.  After Link is started manually, the phone then connects and disconnects in Link twice before finally establishing a connection.  Any new photos are then synchronised and are listed in Recent Activity in Link.  The phone is meanwhile charging, and the phone SD card and flash memory are mapped in Windows Explorer as drives Y: and Z:  Link displays in colour code the disposition of files in the phone memory on the device home screen.
    The next Link screen is Backup & Restore which displays in bold yellow "Device cannot be backed up or restored when connection is through WiFi"  WiFi on both phone and computer is still OFF!
    The Contacts / Calenders screen gives a similar message to the Backup & Restore screen and asks me to connect using USB as WiFi cannot be used for this function.  As far as I can see, USB is the only connection present.
    The Synced Media screen is OK as this will work with WiFi even though it is not switched on.
    Switching on the WiFi at this stage unsurprisingly changes nothing, but when it is then switched off, the phone disconnects from Link.
    I have uninstalled and re-installed Link countless times and also deleted and re-installed the device drivers in Device Manger about 3 times, but with no positive effect on the situation.  I still cannot backup to Link and have to pull out an old computer (which I would like to dump) for this purpose only.
    Hopefully, someone might have experienced this situation before?  I know that OS 10.3.1 might solve this problem as might a newer version of Link but right now these are not available to me.

    Yes, you are correct about the Intel wireless system used by Dell.  If you connect using the taskbar wireless symbol then you do have the opportunity to uncheck the Connect Automatically box.
    However, if you connect from Manage Wireless Networks, then you are also offered the opportunity to create a profile (or not).  To create a pofile appears to be the default.
    What Link has picked up on however is not clear at all so it appears that this problem may very well be computer specific.  The other strange aspect being that phone connection cannot happen unless I am logged onto BB ID.
    Many thanks for your suggestions.  I'll just have to wait to see if an upgrade can sort this out.  At least I can presently copy files using Explorer.

  • Wifi no hardware installed since 10.10.1

    Hello,
    first, forgive me for my terrible english, and my lack of knowledge of the OS.
    I bought a macbook air 3 weeks ago, no problem.
    I have an iphone 5 too.
    Yesterday, Yosemite updated and, when restarting my computer : ni wifi. wifi hardware not installed message.
    I live in Japan and have a small wifi pocket thing, that I linked to my computer by usb to see if I would get internet.
    I had internet with the usb, but nothing I tried repaired my wifi not installed problem.
    I tried detection test : error CNW001.
    I tried recovery : other problem, since I am on internet with usb I cannot access to ICloud or my account anymore from my mac. (I read something about en0 and saw mine was en3 but I honestly don't understand what it is about)
    so I cannot log in, so I cannot proceed to recovery, so I cannot repair my wifi settings.
    I work until late so I cannot reach the call center, and even if so, explanations in Japanese are possible, but I would prefer to get some help in English.
    I feel helpless as I don't know anything... so please could someone explain to me with simple words what could I try to do ?
    Best regards

  • Cyberoam 802.1x WiFi on iPad Mini ?

    I am planning to purchase an iPad Mini in India.
    My college has a Cyberoam 802.1x WiFi
    Wifi is hidden.
    Configuration; PEAP with Mschapv2 authentication
    It requires a login id and password to use the internet.
    Please tell me whether this type of WiFi can work on iPad Mini.

    My friend, wifi a/b/g/n is wifi network type and I know that iPad Mini supports the same. WiFi 802.1x is an encryption type(used in enterprise wifi networks) not a network type and I am asking about that.
    I'll be glad if you could please help me regarding this.

  • Can't log onto Wifi..

    My dear Apple friends I have a quick question for you!
    I bought a macbook pro a few months back in Oz (complete convert now despite my lack of computer skills) and Ive been trying to link it up to my home WiFi unsuccessfully. Essentially I was putting in the wrong WEP password initially and it wasn't working (duh!) so then i clicked on the network preference thing and then chose network diagnostics to fix it myself. Essentially despite putting in the correct info, this message comes up at the end saying that my password/network name/type of wireless security may be wrong and i can't get online.
    The one thing that is bugging me though is that during every step of the process this little box appears saying my network configuration has changed so I think I might have altered it by accident?? I know the Wifi is working as it's fine on my phone but I had this issue last week whilst visiting a friend so I think I've done something wrong along the way. It states my Wifi, wifi settings, ISP are fine (green light next to them), network settings has a yellow light, internet and server are red.. I've also tried putting in all of info via the "closed network" option to no avail. I also deleted Wifi on network preferences, replaced it with a new one, restarted everything possible and deleted a system configuration folder and restarted it on the basis of advice from here.
    Any ideas what to do guys and girls? Any help at all would be great thanks!

    What type of security are you using on your wireless network? WEP, WPA? If WEP what flavor, 64 or 128 bit? What are you checking the password you are using against? Are you verifying that it is correct directly from the routers config pages? Are making sure you are using capitals if needed when entering the "password". If you are using WEP encryption, don't try and use the passphrase as the password, actually enter in the hex key that is generated on the router, and only use key 1 if there are multiple keys listed.
