Wifi will connect to phone but not Mac. Mac connects fine on other networks.
I'm staying with my aunt and uncle over the summer, and for the first week I was here my MacBook Pro connected just fine to their wifi, and then a few days again stopped working. There is no issue with their Internet because it connects on my phone, and my Mac is able to connect just fine to the wifi at work, but for some reason it won't connect to their home Internet. I noticed when tweaking with it last night the ip was different an than my usual ip, so when I was at work today I tried copying down the normal ip and when I got back home I tried putting in the ip manually. Now it says the wifi connects but the Internet and server still don't work. Tried network diagnostics several times and cannot find an answer. Please help!

I would recommend taking a look at the article below for some basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting. Often times, if the device isn't connecting to a specific network, then it just an odd setting on the computer.

Okay so today one of my friends used my phone to sign in to his Apple I.D I don't know why? The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
The iphone is not a backup device.
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
Wi-Fi card will work on OS9 but not with mac OS X
I've been having a lot of problems with my imac until I brought to a repair center last year. They had to replace the motherboard and a few other compenents to get it working. Anyway, the end result would be that the wi-fi card wouldn't work. I can detect it and the computer can 'see' it in MAC OS X 'Tiger' but no wi-fi networks are detected. Now what's really strange is that networks are detected when I boot into mac os 9. I've looked for drivers for the airport card but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? One other thing...my internal modem does not work as a fax, it keeps saying modem busy (even though I have an ethernet connection). Please help. Thanks.

Both iPod Touches are configured identically - with a static IP address, differing by one digit.
Same DNS, Same Gateway, Same Proxy IP Address, Same Username/Password.
The issue is not caused by configurations, it is caused by a difference in how authenticate proxy configurations are handled between the firmware supplied with a pre v2 iPod Touch, and the updated v2 firmware.
Perhaps v3 will resolve this issue, but at this time if you have any choice, do not upgrade further iPod Touches to v2 if you require internet access via an authenticated proxy in applications such as Maps, Weather, Mail etc.

I have just bought a Macbook Pro, and tried connecting my iPod Touch to it. It didn't work (nothing shows up on the iPod to say it's even connected). So I tried plugging it into my windows7 machine, and it works fine.
I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get it to work under OSX. (I'm a Mac noob )

If nothing above worked, it's likely a hardware issue with your Mac's USB ports. I would make an appointment at your local Apple store/Genius Bar and see what they can do for you.

Computer will recognize my iphone but not my wifes
My wife and I both have Iphone 4's that have been set up on the same computer. Recently the computer will recognize my phone but not my wifes. When I plug her's in, I get a double chime and that is it. Plug mine in, get a single Chime, and Itunes opens and syncs. I have removed Itunes and the supporting programs, including Bonjour, and reinstalled. It did not work. Also I took her phone to the Apple store, it recoginzed on their computer there and they installed IOS 5 for us. Got home and still nothing.
Any help would be great.
ThanksHello: Thanks to all who replied or read my concern. I was able to solve the issue on my own. What I forgot to mention in the original post was that both my wife and I were attempting to use the Free App " Find My iPhone" from the App Store to set up Find My iPhone which I'm not certain if that was the source of the headache.
At any rate, I simply deleted the app from both iPhones and set up them up in iCloud using the same AppleID account and password which is what it said all along-but I was not getting it. After doing so, both my iPhone and my wife's iPhone are listed in My Devices.

I have been having trouble connecting to my wifi on my ipad mini but my iPod is just fine......it will connect and then say "Unable to connect to network" I've tried resetting my ipad mini and turning off my router for 30 seconds and its not working.
What TC do you have? Model number direct from the base is a big help, it will be A1 followed by 3 numbers.. eg
A1409 Gen 4.. The new AC is A1470
How is it setup?
I need the whole network setup. what modem/router, how is the TC connected etc??
I also need to know what IP the ipod gets, so I can see what mode the TC or network router is working in. -

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

When I go to plug in my iPhone 5 to my PC it will charge my phone but it doesn't show up that it's connected to my computer or in iTunes. I have tried just about everything that I can find in the support discussions but nothing has worked. Any other suggestions?
If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only. -
I have spent 3 hours trying to get my ical updated on my mac with events added to my iphone calendar. Itunes will sync the calendars from the mac to the phone, but not vice versa. I have read every post which relates to this problem, but I do not use iCloud, there is no iSync app on my mac, and there is no menu to delete sync history under system preferences. My mac is fairly new and is running Mac OS X 10.7.4. I tried to delete the iphone from itunes and start over, but can't even do that. Now what? Any advice short of throwing both devices out the window?

if you downloaded driver updates through bootcamp onto flash drive then once windows is installed, open the flash drive in windows. You'll see an application called Setup. Double click on it and it will install all the drivers for wireless and ethernet and usb.
You cant just tell windows to search for driver updates. These EXPERTS aren't telling you this. -

With your phone plugged in, open Image Capture and see if the iPhone shows up. If not, you are having a sync problem. If it shows up in Image Capture, but not iTunes, I'd delete iTunes and reinstall it.

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.
