  • My wifi won't work on my mac mini but works on my other devices?

Ok so I'll try to word this as best as possible. Basically, my family recently got a new wifi network. It works perfectly fine on my iphone, ipad, and all of my family member's macs, phones, and ipads. When I used my mad mini for the first time since getting a new network, the wifi won't work on it. it says i have 3 bars when I am connected to the new network, but when i try to use safari, it won't load. i even tried using chrome so the browser is not the issue. what do i do to fix it? i've already tried restarting my computer and all of that stuff.

I can't post a screenshot because the internet on my conputer doesn't work. I'll just type it out:
    (Network Name)
    DIsconnect from (Network Name)
    IP Address:
    Router:
    Internet: Reachable
    Security:
    BSSID:
    Channel:
    Country Code:
    RSSI:
    Noise:
    Tx Rate:
    PHY Mode:
    MCS Index:
and on the dns servers is just says:
under dns servers it says: 10.0.1.1
and under search domains it says: brittanyroad.com

  • WiFi won't work on Mountain Lion

    Hello,
I installed Mountain Lion yesterday and all went ok until I noticed that my WiFi isn't working. WiFi seems to be connected to my MacBookPro, that's what indicates the sign in the upper right corner (full WiFi). If I start Safari, Mail, App Store and iTunes internet won't work. All worked fine with Lion. On other Apple devices and Windows computers in our house WiFi works perfectly.
    Ethernet works.
Does anyone have any suggestions what to do?

If you are attempting to use a WiFi connection between the iMac and the Time Capsule, I would suggest the following as a possibility.  If you haven't already, on your "iMac" open your Applications folder>click on "Utilities">click on "Airport Utility">there you should see an icon with your Time Capsule showing, and there should be a Green light icon. Then click on the icon for the Time Capsule, which will bring up a box with an "Edit" button.  Click on "Edit" and there you will find the Basestation,Wireless, Network, etc. buttons.  Click on each, one at a time.  You should check that each of those is completed properly.  Then, go back to the "Applications" folder>System Preferences>Network>here Unlock the "Padlock" icon in the lower left corner of the window by clicking on it and entering your Passwword>turn "On" the WiFi lisitng in the column of networks above there.  Hopefully this all will resolve your issues.

  • MacBook wifi won't work properly

    Dear all
Last week I installed Lion on my MacBook. Wifi immediately stopped working properly - I can only connect to the router if I'm 10 inches from it (but the internet works extremely slow), and even then I often get either "connection timeout" or "! No internet connection".
I formatted the whole hard drive and installed Snow Leopard. The problems persist.
I've tried disabling my router's WPA security, with no success.
I've tried establishing an Ad-hoc connection with another computer, and that did work.
And internet is working through Ethernet...
Any help is welcome, this is driving me crazy! Cheers, and happy 2012
    MacBook 13''
    2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2Gb 1067 MHz DDR3
    Purchased on August 2010

    Okay, next idea:
Create a new user account. Log out of the current account and into the new one. Does wi-fi work any better in the new account?
I don't think it will work, but I want you to give it a shot anyway.
Did you purchase the AppleCare extended warranty for this computer?

  • My wifi won't work anymore

my wifi has had no problems until recently, about seven days ago my wifi connection was forgeton wear i had to re-type the code, i connected to the wifi network and its prooperly conected but my iphone 4 won't use the wifi it only uses the 3G which i ve used the wifi in my house since i got the phone with no problems, the bar on the top says 3G and not the wifi bars symbol,  anywho i ve turn off the phone, turn it back on, reset the network setting, turn off all the network settings then turned it back on and the phone work on the wifi for two minutes then turns back to 3G so the only way wifi stays on is if i turn of cellular data when im the house

  • WRT54GS v1.1 (4.71.4): Wifi won't work with wpa/wep/wpa2

Yesterday, I was using wi-fi connection normally when it just died without any warning. It was only my netbook that couldn't use the connection, my phone and other laptop were able to connect and transmit with wpa2-personal (tkip-aes) on. Now they aren't working either. Strange isn't it?
I tried to switch wifi's channel with no help, but I discovered that if I disable the security completely from the router it start's to work. With any security on dhcp wont even give any IPs for the devices trying to connect.
Has anyone else experienced such death with this model? What could be the reason?

    [SOLVED]
I followed these instructions to install a third party firmware after my mate's recommendation. Wi-fi began to work straight away!
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54GS_v1.1
Warning: There is a risk to break your router by following these instructions, don't know how big it is but if you can't take that chance then don't try this
Edit. I guess that user cant edit thread title to add that the problem is solved?

  • Home wifi won't work

my curve 9300 won't connect to my home wifi. I've tried every method possible, to no avail. I went to the telus store to ask about it, and a lady who clearly had no idea what she was talking about told me the curve is "just not powerful or high-end enough". I know someone who has a bold 9700 and it connected without a flaw to my home wifi. HELP!

    Hello there
If any other person connects to the WiFi and he/she browse the internet easily then the only case left is the software issue.
    1.    Off your mobile network by going Menu -> Manager Connection -> Press Menu Key or locate the mobile network check box -> uncheck it and just on the Wi-Fi then check. If it wasnot resolve your problem then
    Just do the thins below
    1.         Backup your settings (Full Backup) using BB Desktop Manager
    2.         Wipe all the things you have in your BB by going Menu -> Options -> Security Options -> General Options -> Press the menu key here and choose wipe handhels. A dialog box will appear and wipe including All third party softwares you have. Now proceed, Enter blackberry in the dialog box and start wipe.
    3.       After wipe Downgrad your OS to the OS which is come with you device at the time when you purchase it.
    4.       Reboot your BB
    5.       Restore your backup Only neccessary things please not full backup
    6.       Reboot again your BB (Hard Reset will be preferred, in the state your BB is on Pull out bettry, wait 15 sec, plug in)
This will resolve it if it wasnot then there should be no further software troubleshooting required. Reclaim the waranty. If waranty is not then Go to market and inspect your device with the idea of hardware issue. If non of this will resolve your problem then Just sale out your set because it will give your continus problem for this.

  • Haven't used iTunes in months...WiFi won't work on Iphone...HELP!

Back in late March 2013, iTunes lost all of my data (apps, music, etc) after a routine update.  I tried to restore but the most recent backup in the iTunes folder was from 2012.  I basically gave up on iTunes altogether and started using wireless on both my iPhone & iPad to download new apps and updates.  This was working just fine, until a couple of months ago.
Now, my iPhone 4S refuses to connect to WiFi anywhere.  I've tried to connect to multiple networks and it simply refuses to work.  Sometimes it's grayed out and other times it just searches forever and finds nothing.  My iPad connects to my home network with no trouble but it seems the iPhone simply doesn't recognize WiFi anymore!
This is a BIG problem because my iPhone is stuck on IOS 6 and is unable to download a possible fix or larger app updates.  I've considered reconnecting to iTunes for that reason, but I'm afraid to lose all of my data (settings, contacts, apps, music, etc) if I do so.
Before I go to an Apple specialist and fork out some money for a fix, I've come here for any tips and advice you guys could provide.
    Thanks in advance!

This whole process is frustrating - why can't iTunes simply synchronize with my iPhone and rebuild my libary that way?
Regardless I have a few more questions:
    1) Since iTunes on my PC is still linked to my account (even though library is empty) will all of my iTunes purchases and apps show back up after sync?
    2) Seeing as all my music is on my PC, should I simply painstakingly rebuild my Playlists AGAIN?  I really wish I didn't have to do this part in particular since, I manually added most of the individual song data.
    3) For future reference, what is the best way to back this up because clearly iTunes itself isn't capable of doing so.
    Thanks again guys.

  • Wifi won't work in the US

I have a European iPhone 4. After landing in the US yesterday I haven't been able to connect to any wifi. What could be the problem here? I understand I can't make calls with my iphone in the US but surely wifi shouldn't be affected?
Oh, and the same thing with my ipad. What's going on?

Thanks, but unfortunately this doesn't work. It's still the same - I can find the networks, I'm able to insert the password, I even get the wifi symbol in top left corner indicating I'm connected, but when I try to use e.g. Safari it says I'm not connected. Note that I don't get the blue 'approval tick' next to the network name, it just keeps processing. sigh.

  • HT4097 Had to restore now WiFi won't work.  Why?

Well, I have another question...I had to restore y IPad so I have to do a lot of reloading.  No problem so far but it does not connect to my WiFi even though it recognizes it is there.  I have turned completely off and back on but it will not work.  Why?

    Morning AssureSalvation,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For troubleshooting on this, take a look at this article:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
If you're unable to join a nearby Wi-Fi network
Try restarting your Wi-Fi router by turning it off and then on again.
Note: If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
When joining an 802.11n Wi-Fi network, ensure that your router is properly configured. See this article for more information.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    Hope this helps,
    Mario

  • Wifi won't work after sleep

I close my Macbook Air and put it to sleep.  Then when I open it to wake it up, the wifi will not connect.  The 'Fan" wifi icon shows it is searching for a connection but after a moment it stops.
This happens at work, home and school.
I have to turn the wifi off and then turn it back on to get it to work.
    Any suggestions?
