Wiki server blog enclosure URL malformed?

Howdy,
I am on Leopard 10.5.8 server and trying to use the Web Server wiki blogs (Group blogs, not individuals) to generate RSS that I will pass to iTunes U. I have gotten everything working, including SSL and the feed validates, but I have one problem: The URL to the enclosed media file in the RSS does not have the https, only http.
All other instances of http in the RSS are correct (https). Does anyone know where the enclosures are generated? I have check /usr/shared/wikid/lib/python/apple_wlt up and down, but have had no luck.

The server homepage makes XMLHttpRequest calls via JavaScript to /collaboration-availability/[servicename]/ in order to discover if a service is enabled for a particular virtual host configuration. Those URLs are aliased (or rewritten) to point to /usr/share/collaboration/availability/index.html if the service is enabled. If the request returns anything other than a successful response then the JavaScript assumes that the service is disabled.
I would first look to see what Apache is returning for the XHR requests. Also make sure that Apache has permission to access the availability file. You might also want to look at the javascript console in Safari to see if there are any JS errors.

  • Wiki Server "blogs and tags"

    I think the "more" menu item is ridiculous.
    There are only two items there (blog and tags).
    I don't see why those two links can't be listed along with the other main navigation links (Home, Activity, Documents).
    Even worse, this actually makes it all but impossible for people to (easily) find the blog and blog updates.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    I play with this file
    /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/config /initializers/register_apple_plugins.rb
    I have been able to remove menu items that I don't want.  You might want to try changing the order of them (I have not tried this)
    What I have done is also changed the main menu so one of the links is the calendar.  The other thing I did was diable people but when you click on the icon above my name it goes to a wiki instead.  If the wiki of the user does not exist then kicks you to a page "file not found"  or if you do not have access you cannot see it.
    I wanted the people pages options without the security problems.
    Just remember for the changes to take effect you have to stop and start the wiki.  To edit the file I will copy it on the desktop and then once finished copy it back.  Keeping a copy of the original is also a good idea.

  • Can't delete a blog comment from Lion Wiki Server 3

    Started the Wiki Server on my Lion Server today and as a test I added a test comment to a blog.  After I saved it I wanted to see if I could edit, change the content or just delete the comment outright.  The answer to all three is that I can't.  I am logged in as the owner the wiki and the administrator for the server.  I looked at the documentation and it appears that I should be able to do all three, but no luck.  Any help would be apprciated.

    You'll get a lot more help if you go to the Lion Server forum. The folks here mainly know about the client OS.

  • Wiki and Blog Server

    Hi,
    I recently changed the location of the stored files for my web server on leopard. At first, the user blogs were not working but after discovering a permissions problem with the folder on the RAID array that they were on, they began to work.
    My problem is that the group wiki and blog services do not work. It seems that the index for the page is created but not the folder for storing the files. Does anyone know of a workaround?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    External data stores are easily achieved with the various services running under 10.5 server. A strong requirement is setting the permissions correctly so that the service is able to read and write to the data store. So for instance an external data store for the group service is achieved by
    Server -> Web -> Services: Data Store: /Volumes/Collaboration
    Folder Collaboration:
    Owner: _teamsserver -rwx, Group: _teamsserver -rwx, Others: -rx
    If Collaboration is not at the Volume level then Everyone needs to have access through the directory structure to the directory containing Collaboration.
    The user blogs are referenced from the site folder to the user's home folder containing a Sites folder. The access to user blogs is not the same as the access to the group wiki/blogs content.

  • Documentation for oracle webcenter wiki and blog server 10.1.3.2.0

    Hi
    Can anyone tell me where I can get the documentation for oracle webcenter wiki and blog server 10.1.3.2.0. I am specifically interested in this version and not the latest version Oracle® WebCenter Wiki and Blog Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.4.0) because I have heard the older version provided out of the box portlets for creation of blogs.
    Since we want blogs very fast, I want documentation of this older version.
    Can anyone point them out to me as soon as possible please

    You can find the demo portlets here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/owcs_10132_demos.html#wiki_blog_disc_samples
    I do not believe there were any portlets provided with the earlier release.
    Anyway what i think is it should not take you more than a few hours to integrate blogging functionality if you are using the Connection & Task flows provided by WebCenter.

  • How to delete old unused blog tags from Wiki Server 3 in Lion Server

    My Tags index in my Wiki Server 3 wiki (Lion Server) still shows old tags that are no longer in use.
    But, how in the world does one remove them?
    Any help?   Thanks.

    I figured it out, but had one hoop to jump through.   I hadn't noticed a tiny little edit button in the far upper right corner of the tags window.   Clicking it reveals red minus signs next to each tag.  That's how to delete a tag.
    BUT, since my tags were no longer in use (I'd deleted the original blog(s) they were attached to, when I tried deleting them I got an error message.   So, I created a dummy blog entry, tagged it with the same tags that I want to delete, saved the blog, then went back to the all-tags view and deleted them (they existed this time).  After done, I deleted the temporary blog.   All done.
    It seems clear that the WIki 3 Server is very primative in many ways.  I hope Mountain Lion reveals a host of improvements.

  • Wiki Server content with spaces in URL broken after 10.6.5 update

    Any content posted to Wiki Server prior to the upgrade that included a space in the title (escaped in the URL as %20) will not play. It gives the "broken Quicktime movie" icon. New video uploaded via the exact same workflow will work. However, the new URL no longer escapes with "%20" but rather with a "+". I recommend not upgrading to 10.6.5 at the moment.

    It looks like you can restore function by changing %20 to a space, per:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12572029
    This will not be fun. There needs to be a fix for this!

  • Wiki Server 3: What is API URL for AtomPub/MetaWeblog?

    Previously (OS X Server 10.6), AtomPub/MetaWeblog editors could connect to Wiki Server using the API access point http://example.com/RPC2 (Command Line, Ecto/Marsedit)
    Now (OS X Server 10.7), attempts to hit /RPC2 are resulting in a 404 response. I've so far been unable to track down where the API access point has moved to, and didn't have any luck flailing around at other likely candidates (thanks, ecto list of common XML-RPC endpoints!)
    Does anyone know where Lion Server puts the XML-RPC access point?

    If you want to run wikis for a couple users the Lion wiki server is easy to use and you can establish several wiki pages.  We've been using Wikis on our home Mac Mini Server for a couple years and hvae several wikis to assign different permissions - one the kids can write, one the kids are just read-only...  They've been quite helpful.  And maintaining them if carefree - I've had NO problems.  And if by maintaining you meant publishing content, that's fine too (although not completely flexible).
    Having upgraded from 10.6 to 10.7 this fall, I will say that I preferred the 10.6 Snow Leopard Wiki over the new implementation, for example it offered several templates for customizing the Wiki look, editing CSS.., but those are gone now. Oh well, progress???
    Regarding manuals for Lion Server I've only seen the online manauls.  Snow Leopard Server had a much more comprehensive set of manuals so you may learn more about the wiki reading them than anything available for Lion (of course Lion and SL have many differences  http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/WikiServerAdmin_v10.6.pdf
    If you haven't run Mac Server before, there will probably be some learning curve pain involved, but we find it useful to run as a File Server (files, music, photos, videos), Time Machine Backup Server, WIki Server Mail Server, Mobile Home Accounts, and we'll even log directly into the server and use it as a desktop (but there are some tricks for using an account both locally and over the network).  If you have some of these broader needs consider implementing Mac Server.  If you just ned the wiki, implementing another wiki product may offer

  • Can't start oracle wiki and blog application right after installation

    I've been setting up the wiki and blog application 10.1.3.4.0 on weblogic server 10gR3, windows 2003 server SP2 and on trying to launch the application using the url format http://host_name:port/owc_wiki I get the following error
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    Any ideas? The access logs are showing that there was a GET request, but I can't find the reason why the server is not servicing the request.

    I hope who ever gets this problem gets help from this solution. I managed to solve my problem just that from the many diagnostic changes, I can't really put a finger on what really did the trick!!
    I desided to go through the insatllation one more time. I noticed that when I create by Data source jdbc/OWCWikiDS and test it, it was testing successfully.
    After setting up Data source I went bank to JDBC > DataSources > Monitoring > Testing. i selected my data source "wikiserver", and tested , i got this error -
    "weblogic server Warning! Connectivity to backend database not verified. This is either because required connection pool attribute "TestConnectionsOnReserve" has not been enabled, or an invalid value has been specified for attribute "TestTableName". Please check the server log for more details.."
    I then went to JDBC > DataSources > jdbc/OWCWikiDS> Connection Pool > Advanced
    Test Connections On Reserve, and I checked it. Further to that I changed my driver from oracle Driver (thin) to BEA's oracle Driver Type 4AX.
    Then I inspected my startWebLogic.cmd and noticed that my update for toplink was not at the exact place it had to be so I practically copied the whole if-else clause in the guide to replace my one.
    After that My application was now working.

  • Wiki Server :500: An internal error occurred trying to process your request

    Greetings,
    10.6.6 server
    Out of the blue our wiki server decided not to work anymore.
    This issue is limited to the wiki server. (all other services work fine)
    Users can log in authenticate and edit personal preferences, blogs etc.
    I have removed Globalindex.db and sessions.db and allowed the index to rebuild with appropriate starts stops of teams. I have cleared out old users who's plist preferences could not be loaded.
    All data is in place.
    AFP permissions are solid.
    User gets "500: An internal error occurred trying to process your request. Sorry." selecting a wiki or blogs, very polite but repeatedly unhelpful.
    As soon as a user clicks on an group the following error shows in the log:

    any help at all would be great! thanks.

    Hi,
    Although this forum is for 10.5 server, after looking through the log errors my guess is that you have a corrupted PageGenerationTemplate.py file. I would replace the file with one from a backup file dated before the problem started.
    Once you replace the file restart the web service.

  • How to create a sitemap for Apple Wiki server?

    Since the content of a Wiki server is very dynamic, can the server generate a site map automatically?
    If I manually created a sitemap, where should I put it so that it will show up in the root of my site?

    I have created a DSN in a web server (a Public IP machine) that is mapped to a Oracle DB.
    In my Excel using VBA coding, with the help of RDO object I will call the DSN in the Web server using the connection string like "DSN=ORS;UID=SDATA;PWD=SDATA;"
    This is working fine and in this case the client machine doesn't need Oracle client to be installed or any TNS entry.
    The user can run the Excel report by clicking a button and the click event connects the DSN in the web server (through its URL) and routes to the mapped DB and fetches the quried data.
    Please note that the above DSN is created based on Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver.
    But the issue is using the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver I couldnt call the SP with Ref Cursor.
    When I searched in Internet I came to know using the provider oraoledb.oracle we can call SP that uses REF CURSOR.
    Now my question is what is the driver name that I can use to create a DSN to make use of the provider oraoledb.oracle for calling the SP with REF CURSOR from Excel VBA coding ?
    Appreciate your prompt reply.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sathish

  • How to fix wiki server if my domain name is reallocated to a new static IP?

    Our wiki server in Xserve Intel was running smooth in 10.5.7 with a static IP in an intranet environment.
    Until Our office is reallocated and the server is migrated to a MacMini G4.
    We cloned the Mini server by Time Machine.
    We changed a new domain name and a new static IP.
    Problem:
    1 Some of wiki pages points to new domain name and some don't.
    2 All wiki jpg points to old domain name but the blog jpg is correct.
    3 Group Calender can't connect to the iCal server
    Please tell me the correct procedure to amend the parameter.
    (PS I am a newbie in Server Mx and has no knowledge in UNIX/Terminal)

    Snow Leopard did the same if you used the GUI. I responded to you in your other thread. You can also simply use a different Apache. Use Macports to install your own apache, which can be managed via command line or webmin. Thus, the apple one deals with Apple stuff, and, yours deals with everything else.

  • Wiki Server Custom templates

    Hi All
    We are currently looking to move more of our internal processes across the the Wiki. I was wondering is there a way to create custom wiki page templates? I don't mean to customise the apple supplied ones (they are fine) but to create templates for Meeting minutes, Customer call logs (In a a customer blog) that all have the same format? Or ultimately an entire project pre-build that we could deploy when a new project kicked off.
    Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Alex

    For Snow Leopard 10.6 the Extending Your Wiki Server content was merged into the Wiki Server Admin manual (http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/WikiServer_Adminv10.6.pdf)
    To create custom templates, you need to create custom XSL (which could break the wiki if the Apple defaults get updated), and Javascript (though I don't see why we should create custom nodes directly in the DOM just to make a series of pages.
    CSS only affects the styling of the blocks.

  • "URL Malformed Exception" in j2ee

    I've just tried to run the j2ee by first time in Linux, but I only got the next error "URL Malformed Exception" after it opened de port. I've alredy installed de JSDK and set enviroment variables JAVA_HOME and J2EE_HOME. Is there something I'm missing?.
    Thanks

    OK, I know that.
    The point is, when the j2ee server is trying to initialize de Naming Manager (JNDI) while it is booting up it finds a Malformed URL.
    I haven't been able to find someplace I can configure these URL and wich resource it is pointing to.
    Or maybe the reason is quite different and it is missunderstunded as as Malformed URL.
    In fact the class and method which are reporting the exception first are:
    javax.naming.ConfigurationException : Invalid URL: . Root exception is java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol

  • Wiki Server - People - suppress for unauthenticated users

    With Wiki Server 4 (Server 10.8.1), unauthenticated users hitting the web server's default home page are presented with Wiki Server's default landing page listing:
    "My Documents"
    "All Activity"
    "Wikis"
    "People"
    If an unauthenticated user tries any of the first three items they get no content, which is great (althouh only the "My Documnets" page prompts for credentials — I think they all should).
    However, if they hit the "People" item, it lists (exposes) all of the people on your system.
    We don't want a list of our users exposed — we think if you are unauthenticated, you shouldn't see anything when clicking on "People".
    Suggestions?

    ******** PLEASE BEFORE DOING ANYTHING COPY THE CONTENT FOLDER OF THE SERVER.APP AND BACK IT UP SOMEWHERE SAFE**************
    I have been working on this for weeks.....  I understand some people want to be able to share there blogs and people pages but you have to understand some people don't
    "People pages" should be set up is the same way as wikis...  The owner(s) have the ability to give access to whom they choose.  If it is a public "people page" it shows up in search and activity, if it is private it doesn't show up (or only shows up in search results with people that have access).  I also feel you should have the ability to choose whether a person has a "people page" or not.
    But it is what it is. So I'll step through what I did to make it work for me.  You do lose some services but this was my goal....
    1.  All activity does not work
    2.  Search does not work
    3.  tags do not work (I hope to fix this because I want tags....)
    4.  iPad now brings up the PC version of the wiki server, which eliminates the ability to upload files.  Some one with some java script experience maybe able to help us out but at this time I just chose to remove it....
    **The other thing to note is the iPad version is completely independent of the PC version (I address this also) so even if you make all these fixes someone with an iPad will still be able to search and gain access to people unauthenticated***
    Now all services (including the home page and people) need authentication to gain access.
    ************** Once complete you need to stop/restart wikis**************
    **************I recommend making a copy of the content file of your server app (just incase)**************
    Step 1.  Set up authentication: (SAVE A COPY ON THE DESKTOP BEFORE EDITING)
    1.Edit the controller for the wiki
    /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/app/co ntrollers/application_controller.rb
    2. find the block
       helper_method :service_client, :current_user, :current_version, :page_context, :use_inline_webauth, :javascript_includes_for_locale
       helper_method :webcal_enabled?, :webmail_enabled?, :entityURL, :iphone, :ipod, :ipad
       before_filter :master_before_filter, :block_older_internet_explorer
       after_filter :master_after_filter
    3. Change to
       helper_method :service_client, :current_user, :current_version, :page_context, :use_inline_webauth, :javascript_includes_for_locale
       helper_method :webcal_enabled?, :webmail_enabled?, :entityURL, :iphone, :ipod, :ipad
       before_filter :master_before_filter, :block_older_internet_explorer
       before_filter :ensure_user_is_authenticated
       after_filter :master_after_filter
    2.  Remove search/all activity/tag access (SAVE A COPY TO DESKTOP BEFORE EDITING)
    Go to:
    /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/config /routes.rb
    I removed the following lines of code:
        match "/updates" => redirect("/wiki/activity")
        match "/updates/:path", :to => redirect {|params| "/wiki/activity/#{params[:path]}"}
        match "/activity", :to => 'activity#index'
        match "/search", :to => 'find#index'
        match "/search/:id", :to => 'find#index'
        match "/find", :to => 'find#index'
        match "/find/:id", :to => 'find#index'
    3.  Remove activity from menu bars (SAVE A COPY TO DESKTOP BEFORE EDITING)
    Go to:
    /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/config /initializers/register_apple_plugins.rb
    I removed these lines of code:
        BannerLinks::Project::Activity,
        BannerLinks::Project::Documents,
        BannerLinks::Project::Tags,
        BannerLinks::Person::Activity,
        Sources::Activity,
       Sources::MyFavorites
    4. Redirect iPad to the PC version of the wiki server. (SAVE A COPY TO DESKTOP BEFORE EDITING)
    Go to:
    Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/app/con trollers/application_controller.rb
    Change:
          if ipad and ios5plus
          redirect_url = "/wiki/ipad/#route=#{request.fullpath}"
          logger.info("Redirecting to #{redirect_url} because we detected an iPad running iOS5+")
          redirect_to redirect_url
          end
    To:(You could probably just remove these lines but I was still troubleshooting at the time)
          # if ipad and ios5plus
          # redirect_url = "/wiki/ipad/#route=#{request.fullpath}"
          # logger.info("Redirecting to #{redirect_url} because we detected an iPad running iOS5+")
