Wikis SAP Portal
Hi:
I read this document, this blog and this roadmap, some says that will be at NW7.0 and others that will be at NW7.2 only so I want to know if SAP Portal Wiki will be at NW 7.0. I´ve search for documentation, installation, SP, SAP Portal role and nothing.....So I´m a little confuse about version and dates.
Thanks for your time on this thread.
Rocío.
Rocio,
I guess you are referring to WIKI being in-built in portal.
It has been released but only the pilot shipment for some customers, I guess it is still in the testing phase.
Yes, you have had a look at most of the WIKI related documents, but [this one|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0a153da-0ede-2a10-90ac-bec2d7fa2a33] talks about the WIKI shipments.
Also refer to this thread for further details.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/thread?threadID=1283772&tstart=0
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Change the default language of an existing SAP Portal
Hi,
Our SAP Portal works with two languages, Spanish and English. The default language is Spanish, but since the company is becoming more international, we want to set the default language to English. Need to know if you can change the default language of an existing SAP Portal.
Specifically, it is the case of the standard UWL notifications, which are sent by mail in Spanish. For tasks defined in the application, the message is personalized and sent in two languages at once. However, when the task is not defined, notifications arrive in the default language, which is now Spanish. Could anyone tell me if I change it?
Thanks for the help!Dear Marciano
I hope you are well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums .
In relation to the scenario that you have described regarding the language setting for EP and the UWL.
The language that the portal is displayed in depends on the following heirarchy, with the languages at the top of the list taking precedenceover those at the bottom:
1.Component (iview) language (defined in the portalapp.xml)
2.Portal Mandatory language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
3.User language (defined in the user#s profile).
4.Request language (defined by the browser).
5.Portal Default language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
6.System Default language (default locale defined by the OS).
So for example, if you have your portal user language (as in point 3)set to Czech, but the language of the iView that is the logon page (as in point 1) set to English, that logon page will be displayed in English.
Regarding the navigation path for the prtDefault.properties kindly refer to the SAP Documentation outlined below which provides a detailed summary and walkthrough regarding the language settings.

Integrate Mac OX personal space in SAP Portal
Greetings Mac Master,
I'm trying to integrate the Mac OX personal space (Ical, blog, Wiki ...) into my SAP Portal by urls Ivew, but when i test my link i have the error message in the portal which says "the content can not be display in the frame".
But if i test by opening in a new windows it work, can you tell me if i miss somethings ?
Thank you all for your advisesHello Erik,
Yes your are right, the solution was to edit the httpd_teams_required.conf file in the apache2 folder by changing the line :
Before:
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
Header set X-Frame-Options "SameOrigin"
</IfModule>
After :
#<IfModule mod_headers.c>
Header set X-Frame-Options "SameOrigin"
#</IfModule>
Before edit the line turn off the web services first, when it's done restart it.
Cheers.

SAP Portal Custom Themes to change ESS/MSS UI Look and feel , possible ?
Hi,
I have a requirement where the look and feel of the UI controls of the ESS/MSS applications have to be different - Jazzy
I know XSS homepage framework is for the customisation of Areas, Sub Areas. What I am more interested is only the look and feel UI of ESS/MSS applications.
If I change the standard theme of portal using Theme Editor and create a new custom theme with different back ground colors, fonts, sizes for all the UI controls,.Will the customised Theme apply on the standard ESS / MSS screens ? Also my doubt is we are using EHP3 and I am not sure how many are Webdynpro java based or webdynpro Abap based.
Will the theme apply to both WDA and WDJ application UI controls?
Any inputs in this regard will be of great help. thanks in advance.

Hi all :
I am a beginner in SAP Portal, truely speaking in the whole SAP domain. I just graduated last year and worked for 1 year in core Java and VB development. In my new job, I have to deal with all ERP/SAP stuffs.
My first responsibility is to learn SAP Enterprise Portal for the time being. Though I know it's a part of the SAP NetWeaver product suite, my understanding is to learn the Portal I really dont need to learn the core SAP R/3 right now ( but definitely yes in the long run ) as it says Portal can also be implemented to handle/manipulate non-SAP data. I am mainly interested to learn development using SAP Portal ( eg. a dynamic website with a backend MSSQL server
So my question is what's the good starting point for a beginner like me? I did have a look at the help.sap.com website but got bit confused. It starts directly with the assumption that I have got the necessary softwares/servers/studios installed. So just wondering what's the best starting point for me to start from the scratch in order to learn Portal? Also are there books for beginners to learn development in Portal?
Thanks and regards.

Com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap doesn't work
Hi all,
I needed to change the file 'WinGuiRenderLayer.properties'
I found the par under 3 locations:
d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap
d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
d:\usr\sap\SPD\jc00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp
I changed the file in those locations (I removed the bak extension and restarted the server).
Also, I made sure that the pars/directory contains the jar files.
After I restarted the server the application integrator iviews doesn't work (Web Dynpro, Transaction...).
Before I did the changes, I backed up the original pars/directory.
Copying the original pars didn't help.
How can I solve this?

Thanks,
OmriSolved it.
This is what I did:
1) Took par from my production environment (same SP level)
2) Clear the par (by using 'Archive Remover')
3) Clear the pcd cache
4) Upload the par (redploy)\
5) Restart the portal
Thanks,

Hello,
We are thinking about implementing the BI 7.0 and publishing some reports with it in Portal. Question is should we use the BI portal or SAP EP portal? We are already having SAP EP 7.0 installed and BI portal (with BI) is also installed.
For performance reason -- we should use the BI portal for report and links these reports in main SAP portal so user has one single point of to see the report from SAP EP.
My thoughts on performance on single source of (main) portal for BI and all the other stuff on main Portal should not be an issue because all the work for querying the reports will be done in BI server, Portal is only show the reports ? is this assumption is correct?
If we have two portal, as system admin we have to maintain two different portals,
What be the best approach (pro and cons) using the BI Portal VS SAP Portal?
Please advice.
FareedI answered my own question ,

This is very nice link and answered all my concerns.
