Wildcard Certifiate support for Unity Connection

Does Unity Connection started supporting Wildcard cerficates for the Unified messaging with Exchange integration?
CUPS 8.6.4 started supporting it for Calendar integration but we are not getting any document related to Unity Connection which states its supported now.
BR,
Sachin

Hi,
Thanks for the question.
Okay so I did some digging and found a few details that will help clear this up.
1. The documentation is wrong and we will be getting it correct as soon as we can. The CUC 9 admin guides states that you need to create an 'External Service' however this configuration has been changed.
2. Yes, Exch 2010 and I'm sure Exch 2013 will be supported. TTS uses IMAP for the connection method and as long as Exch permits IMAP traffic you're good.
3. To configure TTS, of course enable IMAP for Exchange. On the CUC side, you'll need to start with the class of service and check the following "Allow Access to Exchange Email by Using Text to Speech (TTS)". Then you'll need to create a new unified messaging service where you add the details of the Exch server and make sure to check "
Access Exchange Email by Using Text to Speech (TTS)". Then apply that UM service to an end user and test. FYI, when you check the message from the TUI it will be the option of external messages (default option 7).
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Good Luck,
Brad

  • Cisco support for Single Inbox Feature in Exchange 2003 for Unity Connection 8.5

    Hi There,
Does Cisco support a Unity Connection 8.5 solution/design with the Single Inbox Feature (for Unified Messaging) configured with Exchange 2003, or does it support the Single Inbox feature on Exchange 2010 only?
    Thanks

Thanks Anthony - I just found an updated doco that confirms that.

  • Licensing for Unity Connection after Upgrade from 8.5 to 9.1.2

I upgraded my Unity connection from 8.5.1 to 9.1.2. ( my CUCM is still on 8.5.1) . I have 200 CUWL-STD ( 2200 DLUs), and 50 CUWL-PRO (850 DLUs) . Now I am working with Cisco to get a license file for Unity Connection and apply that to my ELM. I attached my licensing page for when I was in 8.5.1 . Just want to make sure if I will be getting enough license with that license file, or possibly I need to buy more. Someone told me that if I want to have users with mailbox I need to order more licenses since every user take one CUWL license.
Honestly i do not know how CUWL licensing work regardig to Unity or even CUCM.
    Thanks,

  • COBRAS Import for Unity Connection 8.5 and Subscriber LDAP Integration Status

Using COBRAS Import for Unity Connection 1.1 Build 212 with Unity 4.2 Voicemail Only and Connection 8.5(1)SU1 with LDAP Directory Integration
When I run COBRAS the old alias matches the new alias and my desire is for subscribers being moved to be LDAP inegrated.  However after COBRAS runs, the radio box for LDAP Integration Status on the subscriber is set to Do Not Integrate with LDAP Directory. Is there a way for COBRAS to select Integrate with LDAP Directory when the alias matches on LDAP?

    Hi ben,
If you are just importing from and not authenticating against LDAP, then the PIN comes
    from the Connection Template you used to build the users;
Note that no passwords or PINs are copied from the LDAP directory to the Connection database. If
you want Connection users to authenticate against the LDAP directory, see the “LDAP
    Authentication” section on page 9-7.

  • REQ: VLAN Support for Access Connections

    hi,
i would like to see VLAN support for access connections. i have a thinkpad t400
    cheers

    VPN-User wrote:
What can be understood wrong with "VLAN support in Access Connections"? If you want to know what VLAN stands for, just google.
I know perfectly well what VLAN is since i work with networking every day and that's why i asked because i still cannot understand what maharaja mean by AC VLAN support. I asked because i might be able to help since i use VLAN with AC a lot so don't understand exactly what he find to be missing. I'm pretty sure what he is looking for is already there.
Not sure why you felt it necessary to post such a arrogant reply which is not helpful for anyone, but asking for VLAN support could be several things so that's why some further explaination would be necessary to understand what exactly the request is about. I guess you  made you point to tell everyone you know what VLAN is, but then you should also realize that the question in the first post might need some further explanation since the feature might already be there.

  • Java Version for Unity Connection 7.1

    Hi,
We have recently found that the latest Java Version 7 Update 11 when automatically updated on the users PC, the Unity Connection web page does not work when Media Master is used. The controls or menu does not respond.
    Windows 7
    IE 9.08112.16421
    Java 7 Update 11
Does Unity Connection 7.1 only support Java 6 Update 33?
Will there be a patch from Cisco?
    Thanks

    Hi,
There is a known issue that Cisco Unity Connection requires Java Version 6 update 31 and
earlier to work with. For more information, refer to teh bugs below:

  • CUMA support for Unity based on Lotus Domino

In reviewing documentation, CUMA v3 specifically says it does not support Domino back ended voicemail.  However, this isn't spefically stated in the v7 documentation one way or the other.
Does anyone know if Domino based Unity is supported for CUMA v7?

    Hi,
It is Unity w/Exchange. Here is the documentation -
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuma/7_1/XML/new_installs/cuma71_new_install_config_chapter7.html#task_CUM_2818401683954631448
States only for Exchange. Basically, CUMA connects to IMAP over 143 (TCP) for VoiceMail Adapter to Exchange. There is no documentation states it does support domino.
    Thanks

  • /RestoreRoutingRule CLI for Unity Connection

I am consolidating several unity 7.2 servers into Unity Connection 8.5.
I have hundreds of routing rules which are in use today which I need to recreate on the Unity Connection server.  I read in  the COBRAs help that I can run the CLI /RestoreRoutingRules to restore the routing rules which is what I would like to test.
In the COBRAS tool, I can not modify the path name of the backup to include the /RestoreRoutingRules so am just wondering how I do this?  If someone can provide a reference or direction on where / how I do this, it would be most helpful.
    Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by " I can not modify the path name of the backup " - you don't need to - when you run the COBRASImportForConnection.exe, you pass the "/RestoreRoutingRules" option on the command line.  So in other words you can open a command box on your Windows machine where you installed import, go to the directory where you installed it (by default C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\COBRAS\COBRAS Import for Connection\) and run the tool like this:
    COBRASImportForConnection /RestoreRoutingRules
it'll then offer you the option to include routing rules in your restore (a seperate wizard page will be displayed during the import for this).
You can also add the CLI option via the desktop shortcut if you'd rather but I usually just open a command box for such things.

  • Please Add LTE Band 12 Support for better connection

I was deeply disappointed to find the recent 5.1.1 release of Android didn't include adding Band 12 support to the Z3C! The Sony representative I spoke to in March said the phone had the radio to be able to connect via Band 12 and just needed to be enabled in the software. Recently you enabled Band 12 for the Z3 (http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/06/03/t-mobile-updates-its-xperia-z3-to-lollipop-throws-in-band-12-lte-support-for-good-measure/) so you clearly have the software to do this already, please please please add it to the Z3C software!!! • Fix for Unity connection bug CSCtl41495

    Hi,
I need a fix for this bug but don't see any of the following versions available under Unity Connection download page. The current release I am having is 8.0.3 ES22 and would like to stay on 8.0.3 release.
    Fixed-In
    8.5(1.0)ES17
    8.6(0.99981.1)
    8.0(3)ES25
    8.0(3.23028.1)
    8.6(0.18)
    8.6(0.96000.132)
    8.6(0.96000.53
Can someone clarify when the next full version 8.0(3.23028.1) would be available for download on CCO? Or can recommend any other version available on CCO which has a fix for this bug. I checked the release notets of available versions, couldn't see it fixed in any of them.
    Thanks,
    inner_silience

    Hi,
This has been ported back to 8.0(3).  If you open a TAC case, we can publish you the latest 8.0(3)ES27 that contains the fix.
    Hope that helps,

  • Automating user creation for Unity Connection when sync'd with LDAP

    Hi
Is it possible to automatically create users that sync with unity connection?
I have a unity connection 7.0 server that is sync'd with LDAP and i use a ldap filter so that only users with a specific attribute are sync'd. I can see the users when i try to do an import but is there anyway that they can automatically be created

    No
Check this check box so that Cisco Unity Connection gets basic information on Connection users from the LDAP directories that you specify on the LDAP Directory page. Data is synchronized only for the Connection users that you created by importing users from the LDAP directory. Connection does not automatically create new Connection users when new users are added to the LDAP directory.

  • Syslog For Unity Connection

    Hi All,
Is it possible to enable syslog for helpdesk administrator user id in unity connection?  If yes, will it capture all the activity who is doing what in unity (all activity including voicemail Pin reset with extn details).
Please help me here to close the security team concern for this.
    Thanks in advance !!!!

    Hello,
The feature your looking for is called 'Audit Logs' have a look at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/service/8_5_1/admin/saaulog.html
Here is a very cut down list of logged Unity Connection events.
    Command-Line Interface
All commands issued via the command-line interface are logged
    Cisco Unity Connection
Cisco Unity Connection Administration logs the following events:
•User logging (user logins and user logouts).
•All configuration changes, including but not limited to users, contacts, call management objects, networking, system settings, and telephony.
•Task management (enabling or disabling a task).
•Bulk Administration Tool (bulk creates, bulk deletes).
         •Custom Keypad Map (map updates)
Cisco Personal Communications Assistant (Cisco PCA)
The Cisco Personal Communications Assistant client logs the following events:
•User logging (user logins and user logouts).
•All configuration changes made via the Messaging Assistant.
The one issue is that I am not aware of being able to send these files to an external syslog sever, they are only written to the servers own log files. Maybe somebody else can add further assistance.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig

  • Need suggestion for Unity Connection 9.1(2) alert on SIB failure?

On Unity 8.x I had a monitor on the UnityMTA folder as an easy way of knowing when messages weren't being passed to Exchange.
I'm looking for an alert to notify me on CUC v9.1(2) (SIB) when messages cannot sync with a user's exchange mailbox.  I'd like to know of any problems, even just for a single user, before the user knows.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is any intuitive or simple way to get what you want here. There are Single Inbox Traces via the Connection Mailbox Sync service but you'd then need some sort of automated way to pull/parse that data and I think that would be rather cumbersome.

  • SMS Service Provider for Unity Connection

    Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has ever setup the SMS Message Notification feature within Unity Connectiona and if so, can you recommend the Service Provider that you used? I am having a hard time trying to find a provider for this feature.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    Martin

I had a customer do it with Sprint. They charged a per-message rate (more if they had to relay it to another carrier) and added it to the customer's business account. They were *very* guarded about the server details relating to the setup of it though. Yeesh.
