Wildcard in topic names

Is it possible with Weblogic to subscribe to multiple topics using wildcards?
          I may have topics xmlA and xmlB. Can I subscribe to both of them by passing xml*? More importantly, can you do this with MDBs i.e. have wildcards in the descriptor where the destination-jndi-name is defined?
          Thanks!

I have the same problem since migrating from
          WebLogic - MQ to WebLogic JMS. We use notification/ElementChange/* wildcard in MQ

  • Using a topic name marker in TCS2

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to set up FM to RH converstion for the first time since TCS1. I have TCS2 with FM 9.0p255 and RH 8.0.2.208.
    In my project, I'm attempting to use a topic name marker to specify the HTML filename and topic title in RH when I convert my FM files. It appeared to be working well but some in some linked topics, the topic title would be the filename rather than the title I'd specified in the FM marker. After some investigation, it seems that adding cross-references to a topic in FM breaks the topic title portion of the feature. Add the internal cross-reference in FM, update in RH, topic title = topic filename (though they are both specified in the marker). Remove the cross-reference in FM, update RH, and the filename and topic title are as expected.
    Has anyone else seen this issue and may know what I'm doing wrong or have found a workaround?
    I want to be able to create my TOC separately in RH rather than using the FM version. Not being able to control the topic titles is a big enough deal for me that I may have to abandon the project if I can't fix it.
    Thanks for any help,
    Glynnis

    In case anyone else has this problem, I eventually called Adobe tech support. My issue has been identified as a bug in both TCS2 and TCS3. With any luck, they'll fix it in an update.

  • How can I have a topic name different than the filename of a linked Word document?

    I've encountered multiple issues with linking to Word files ...here's another one: If a Word document is entitled Feature_ABC, then upon generating the HTM after linking it, the HTM's filename and topic name are both Feature_ABC. As underscores are ugly in topic names and features can be renamed, I would hope that I could rename the topic to be different than the filename.
    The Help documentation suggests this is possible by editing the Topic Name Pattern in the Word Conversion Settings dialog of Project Settings. However, reagardless of the Pattern entered, every time I generate or update from the context menu of a linked Word document the topic name remains the same as the filename.
    Because the topic name is shown in the Search panel and browser tabs, it will be a little ugly and may even be confusing. It is possible to edit the HTML directly, but then the HTML is overwritten each time the Word documents are update and the great advantage of using linked documents is lost.
    Is there a way to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

    Thank you for your quick reply - just checked Multifox out.
    It seems it still forces me to open a new window, while preventing the need for a new profile.
    Why isn't it in the addons.mozilla.org ? Looks dangerous ...

  • Title Bar to include Topic Name - html5

    Hi
    Is it possible for the Title Bar value to reflect a variable, i.e. to include the Topic Name as part of its value?
    Currently it is a single value for every page produced, as set in the General Tab of the Multiscreen HTML5 Settings window.
    This is apparently causing us a problem with our SEO ranking (we're using Robohelp to produce the online help for our software).
    Thank you
    Dan Wait

    Many thanks, Willam.
    I have another question, which may be a bit of a stretch!
    Is it possible to insert a variable (for example 'Our Software Name - ') that is added as a prefix to the title of every html page generated (i.e. the title bar as displayed in a web browser), but not reflected in the Topic Title within the Topic List in Robohelp?
    For example, say I have 2 topics, one titled 'About', and one titled 'Configuration'.
    It would be ideal if the html page title as displayed in a web browser reflected 'Our software name - About' and 'Our software name - Configuration', etc.
    I can see that I can add a variable within the General Tab of the Properties section of each topic, but that just seems to override the actual topic name.
    Alternatively I realise I could do a Search and Replace and add 'Our software name - ' after the  <title> tag for each html page within Robohelp, but that also renames the Topic Title in the Topic List to include the prefix.
    I hope that makes sense.
    Many thanks
    Dan

  • How can we change Topic Names Generated after linking a document

    Hi:
         I linked a document and generated a topic in RoboHelp for HTML. The topics are generated with some names and i am not able to rename them after they are generated.
    I tried doing this as per help
    Define the topic name pattern for generated topics
    When you set heading styles for pagination, the heading text is included by default in the filename of the topic file created in RoboHelp. For example, suppose you define Heading 2 for pagination. If the Word document has two Heading 2 topics, “Introduction” and “Beyond basics,” the topics are created as files named introduction.htm and beyond_basics.htm. The result is intuitively named HTML files that indicate the topic title. In addition to this default scheme, you can define more naming conventions. If, however, the Help system uses sequentially numbered files, such as helptopic001.html, helptopic002.html, and so on, you can define the pattern to support that convention.
    Do one of the following:
    Select File > Import > Word Document.
    Select File > Link > Word Document.
    Select File > Project Settings.
    In the Conversion Settings dialog box, select Other Settings.
    In the Other Settings tab, set the topic name pattern.
    Topics are named according to the selected pattern. You can select one of the following or create a topic name pattern.
    Default
    Uses the topic title text as the topic filename.
    <$filename_no_ext>-<$paratext>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the following:
    The name of the Word source file without its extension
    Hyphen as the separator
    Paragraph text used to demarcate HTML topics
    For example, a Word file named “Chapter.doc” with “1-Introduction” as paragraph text is converted to an HTML topic named “Chapter-1-Introduction.”
    <$filename_no_ext>-<n>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the following:
    The name of the Word source file without its extension
    Hyphen as the separator
    A sequential number
    For example, “Chapter.doc” is converted to an HTML topic named “Chapter-1.”
    <$paratext_no_num>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the paragraph text used to demarcate the HTML topic, without numbering. For example, paragraph text “1.Introduction” is converted to an HTML topic named “Introduction.”.
    <$paratext>
    The name of the converted HTML topic contains the paragraph text used to demarcate the HTML topic. For example, paragraph text “Introduction” is converted into an HTML topic named “Introduction.”
    But, still its doing the same. Can anybody help me .
    1. How can i generate what i need .
    2. or How can i rename the topics which are genrated.
    When i import word document, i can rename the topics. But, when i link them. They are readonly.
    Thanks
    Santhosh

    I verified it at my end and found that at times the "other settings" are lost if only other setting are updated but this behavior is a bit random.
    I have a workaround for this issue :-
    1. please link the document first
    2. Open the File->project setting dialog and click Edit button for Framaker setting (this wont cause any issue as you wont be using these settings)
    3. In "conversion setting" please update any "other settings" and then click OK
    4. Now on the other setting for word documents will get retained and after this it will always be retained for even the new projects.
    5. then OK on project setting dialog and can verify it by reoprning these settings
    Hope this helps

  • TCS 4 - Mapping FM chapter title to show actual chapter title as topic and not a random topic name?!

    I recently upgraded from TCS 2 to TCS 4. I use it to "link" FM books to Robohelp and provide webhelp output to our tech team.
    I saved my project settings from previous project and imported them into the project I was re-creating (same source book). The project generated without errors and with the correct number of files (I did experience some crashes but they did get resolved).
    When I  delivered the webhelp output to tech (using a version control application) we discovered some of the files had different file names.
    It seems that all of the chapter title styles in my FM books are being brought over with a different name, such as with the name of the project.  This issue is only for my FM chapter titles, which before were also topic titles and still are but with a different name. Because I'm linking a book, I cannot re-name the files.
    In !SSL! folder my old file used to read something like this:
    C:\CompanyProductName\!SSL!\WebHelp\CPN_Help\04.UG.Intro.htm
    and how appears as this:
    C:\CompanyProductName\!SSL!\WebHelp\CPN_Help\04.UG.Intro\Company_Product_Name.htm
    In the Robohelp Project Manager, the file that you see in Topic List view appears as Company Product Name, instead of "Introduction". The correct content is there but the topic title is the project name.
    It seems that the conversion settings changed slightly from TCS 2 to TCS 4 and maybe I just don't understand what I need to select. I previously selected Topic Name Pattern to be (Default). Today, I tried different options to no avail. I couldn't get my topic file names to change unless I change the topic name pattern for all the topics (I can't do that for 2000+ files!).
    Attached are the settings I'm using. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Your TCS4 conversion settings window looks a bit different than my TS3. I have a menu of options for the Topic Name Pattern, but yours doesn't.
    I set my H1, H2 and H3, to start a new file and to name it based on the paragraph text <$paratext>.
    For your Title Chapter, select "Pagination (split into topics).
    And under Topic Name Pattern name, try manually entering <$paratext> or any other combination you want for the html file title.
    Alternatively,
    Select Topic Name Marker and your files will take on the name of the text in the topic alias.

  • Give topic name of file while import word doc

    give topic name  the name of word filename while importing

    Please only post a question once. I have deleted your other thread.
    The file names are taken from the title of the topic(s) created when you import. In your case you have only created one topic so the file name will be the name of the first heading.
    Whether you create one or many topics depends on your pagination settings. If you tell Rh to paginate on Heading 1 only and the Word document only has one Heading 1, then you will get one file. Two X Heading 1 and you will get two topics taking the text of those headings for the file name.
    If you also paginate on Heading 2, it will follow the same logic.
    See the Printed Documentation pages on my site. It's a long read but it should make it all clearer.

  • Get jms queue and topic names from JNDI

    Hello all,
    How do I get all possible queue and Topic names from JNDI (in my app) so I can store them in a HashMap?
    Thanks

    I'm guessing you know where in the JNDI you put your queue and topic names. Then you can do:
    context.listBindings("myJNDIContext");
    and go through the NamingEnumeration that this returns.

  • RoboHelp 8 HTML/TOC Levels/Topic Names

    Hi,
    I'm a new user to Robohelp HTML 8.
    I have several HTML files (created in Homesite 5.5) that I have imported into Robohelp.  Headings are defined as <h1> <h2> and <h3>.
    I have two issues (so far) relating to TOCs that I have been unable to solve.
    1.  The name that displays in the TOC listing is the name of the link and not the name of the topic. For example, in <h1><a name="ovr">Overview</a></h1>, the TOC displays "ovr" when I want it to display "Overview".
    2.  Robohelp doesn't seem to recognize the differences between <h1>, <h2> and <h3>.  All headings are at the same level.  I have been unable to locate a screen or setting I can use to configure the TOC. Is there one?
    I realize that the files I am importing need a lot of tweaking for RoboHelp.  They were used differently, and right now, I'm just  trying to determine the scope of my nightmare :-)
    Thanks for your help!

    The code looks like the remnants of a hyperlink, just the name part with no link.
    Unless you know something about it, the code does nothing so remove it. You can remove those topics from the TOC and add them back in or just rename them in the TOC editor.

  • Add a topic name to a feedback form

    Hello.
    I am using RH 10.
    In our help system, I would like to add a feedback link to each topic. When the user clicks the link a feedback from opens. This feedback form should have the name of the topic or the file name (either one) that the user clicked the feedback link on.
    The name can display in a field or be hidden, we just need the information included when the user mails the feedback form.
    I know how to create the form and add the feedback link to the master page.
    A discussion here
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2238475#2238475
    indicates that the topic or file name could be captured and passed to the feedback form.
    I have seen the grainge article about creating a simple email feedback form ( http://www.grainge.org/pages/snippets/mailto.htm) and it is helpful, but not exactly what I need.
    Has anyone used RH to do this, and if so, how?
    Tbanks for your help.

  • Asterisks on some topic name tabs in RH7

    Sorry for the "stupid question" but I can't find anything in
    the RH Help on this and was wondering why some topics have an
    asterisk at the end of their names in the RH 7 HTML editor...? I'm
    working with imported topics from various older versions of RH so I
    thought maybe it was that these topics used a different style sheet
    or had not yet been entered in the TOC or maybe they were using a
    template... None of these are true. Can someone explain what the
    asterisks mean? Not all topics have them.
    Thanks!
    kc

    Hi KC
    Normally it means the page has been edited but hasn't been
    saved. Try clicking File > Save All (or pressing Ctrl+S) and see
    if those asterisks perform a magickal disappearing act.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Wildcards in principal names

    I need to be able to use wildcards in some principal names in the policy file.
    I tried to solve it with the equal() method in my Principal class, but it does not work. Where is the principal names (values) in the policy file compared to the names of the principals of the same type in the subject?
    I see two possible solutions, but I would prefere another solution. What do you think? These are my solutions:
    1) Let my principal class implement com.sun.security.auth.PrincipalComparator in addition to java.security.Principal.
    2) Some how solve it with the implies() method in the Permission classes. (How?)
    Pleas help!

    The comparison is done inside the sun.security.provider.PolicyFile implementation (the default implementation of java.security.Policy).
    PolicyFile calls Principal.getClass().getName() along with Principal.getName(), and then compares those values to the class name and principal name listed in the policy file. Note that these are simply String comparisons (they are not done using Principal.equals).
    That means you are left with the following choices. You can implement PrincipalComparator, as you mentioned, or you can extend and replace the PolicyFile implementation.
    Alternatively, there is one obscure feature in PolicyFile that is not well documented. It supports a minimal amount of wildcarding. Specifically:
    grant Principal com.foo.Principal * {
    grant Principal * * {
    If the principal class is wildcarded, then the principal name must also be wildcarded (this is the second example above). Unfortunately this may not give you the level of wildcarding that you desire.
    If the permissions you want to grant are all custom permissions (you have control over the implementation), then it may be possible to design them in a way to achieve what you want. Look at javax.security.auth.PrivateCredentialPermission. That permission encapsulates principals inside of its target name. You would have to design your custom permission class to have a similar syntax, and then the implies method could perform the correct logic for principal name wildcarding.
    In this particular case, since the policy file grant statement does not contain principal information (see the example in the PrivateCredentialPermission javadocs), the String comparison that I described above does not occur. Instead, Permission.implies is called, and you have control over that behavior.
    Hope that helps.

  • CreateQuery() using LIKE and % wildcard: wrong parameter Name :(

    Hi, I cant find an example of an EJB-QL that uses a LIKE statement and wildcards surrounding a parameter.
    I`d tried this:
    queryString = "SELECT p FROM Prestadores p WHERE p.nombre LIKE '%?1%'"and also:
    queryString = "SELECT p FROM Prestadores p WHERE p.nombre LIKE '%:nombre%'"in ths code.
    try {
                Query q = em.createQuery("queryString");
                //q.setParameter(1, nombre);
                q.setParameter("nombre", nombre);
                listaPres = q.getResultList();
                cargarBusquedaPrestadores(listaPres);
                return listaBPres;
            } catch (Exception e) {
                System.err.println("PrestadoresBean.getDatosPestadorxNombre(String Nombre) Exception Inesperada");
                System.err.println(e.getMessage());
                return null;
            }but i get:
    You have attempted to set a parameter at position 1 which does not exist in this query string SELECT p FROM Prestadores p WHERE p.presNombre LIKE '%?1%'or
    You have attempted to set a parameter value using a name of nombre that does not exist in the query string SELECT p FROM Prestadores p WHERE p.presNombre LIKE '%:nombre%'.respectively from the SUN App server log.
    any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    If you use wildcards inside parameters and fix other bugs the problem will disappear.
    Try this:
    queryString = "SELECT p FROM Prestadores p WHERE p.nombre LIKE ?1";  //quotes aren't necessary
    Query q = em.createQuery(queryString); //Of course there can't be "queryString"
    q.setParameter(1, "%" + nombre + "%");
    listaPres = q.getResultList();
