Will 4.0.2 upgrade delete all my iPhone applications?

Hi there,
I'm a iPhone 3GS user and I've been wondering if upgrading the software to 4.0.2 will delete all my applications/pictures/music. Also, if you tried 4.0.2 already, do you recommend it or not? I love the fact that you can now create folders for your apps on that software, but I've also heard a lot of cons of getting it.

All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps. All photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone should be on your computer as well.
Photos and videos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera, so all photos and videos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be on your computer as well.

Download a free app and try again, you can delete the free app afterward.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

IPhoto upgrade deleted all my photos - how do I restore them?

Hello, I have just upgraded my iPhoto and it appears that this has deleted all my iPhoto library. Any advice on how I can restore my old photos?? iPhoto appears to have started up as a new user and doesen't have any record of any or my photos or albumns.

I also lost about 4000 photos, folders all empty, after putting older iphoto library onto external hard drive and opening it with updated iphoto.
found the photos in the pictures folder (although anonymously as jpegs, have to open them to identify them) but how do i return them to iphoto? and why are the other 5000 photos still visible in iphoto?
when i open the package contents in the iphoto library on the external hard drive there is a folder called originals which has all the photos in, but iphoto seems not to be pointing to it. hard to explain what i mean but basically the photos exist, i photo library doesnt see them, the other iphoto library on the computer that came with the upgraded version is fine.

After intallation was completed, the automatic startup just placed a small box on the screen "Import wiz". This just sat there with no activity. After I closed this box, none of the Firefox start buttons would open the program -- just the blue rotating icon for about 2 seconds then nothing.

BPC 7.5NW : How to delete all data in application

Hi,
I need to delete transactional data in an planning application. I've run a "clear" and I clears all the data, but unfortunately, it's "only a delta" delete. So there are still several datapackage request in my application. Of course the sum is zero, but there are still lot's of data.
How to I do a full delete af all transactional data and request ?
i need this in order to delete all masterdata and reload it.

Hi,
Easiest way of complete deletion of transactional data from application is from back end.
Login into back end(BPC BW) via logon pad
--Goto tcode RSA1 and click on infoproviders tab
   --Search for Application (from where you want to delete data)
   --Select the application and change from planning mode to data load mode from context menu
   --Select delete data from context menu
     --Select No to keep dimension data
   --Once data deleted from application(infocube) change back planing mode(from context menu)

10.4.6 upgrade deleted all of my calendar data

I have managed to lose all of my calendar data, including all of my calendar on my exchange server (via entourage sync).
I didn't see the readme before I upgraded, so when I ran sync, it asked me what I wanted to do during sync. I made sure that entourage had everything current, and I chose to delete and re-create the events on my phone. That happened, but the phone ran out of juice during the sync process and powered down. iSync told me what happened, and since I didn't have the charger handy, I went on about my business.
When I synced next, iSync told me it had 620 record that needed to be overwritten, and would I like for that to happen. Assuming it meant the 620 records *on the phone*, I said yes. It then proceeded to empty entourage, my exchange server, and my phone completely. iCal kept a copy, but within a minute or two of opening it, all of that data disappeared too.
So, I suppose I'm probably out of luck, but just in case... is there any way to recover all of my calendars? No, I didn't have any backups that I know of (unless they are automatically created). This is amazingly painful, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hm, yes, you are right...
Two solutions here:
1) plug your ipod on an other mac and get your files there
2) before plugging your iPod:
a. reboot your mac (make sure you start clean)
b. remove the SyncServices folder in your Home -> Library -> Application Support
c. reboot your mac (make sure your re-start clean )
d. this will remove the iPod synchronization state so it won't synchronize when you plug it in.
2) will require you to reconfigure your sync settings for all your iPods, .Mac and Palms
Still, I think 1) would be safer.

ICS upgrade deleted all email and 1 of 4 email accounts

Upgraded to ICS and ALL emails were deleted and 1 account.
Reentered the deleted account and revalidated the others and was at least able to retrieve the emails that were still on my server.

That's true for IMAP accounts but these are POP accounts. I have all servers set to delete after 14 days and the emails I retrieved were 14 days old or less. I can verify this through webmail.
Prior to the upgrade I had some emails dating back to March. These were definitely not on the servers.
While I still have copies on the office computer and backups it would have been nice to be warned if this is normal for the upgrade.

ITunes upgrade deletes all podcast subscriptions

I just upgraded to 9.2, and afterwards, all of my podcast subscriptions had been deleted, which means that I have to go re-subscribe to them all. This isn't the first time this has happened with an upgrade. Talk about a royal pain! Is there something I'm supposed to back up before upgrading to avoid this?

I would check what is set to sync in the Podcast tab in iTunes when the iPhone is plugged in. There may be a setting that may be removing it when you sync your iPhone with iTunes.

The newest upgrade deleted all my apps!

hello there,
a few minutes ago i decided to hit the 'upgrade itunes' icon that kept on annoying me. i made sure to click all the corresponding warnings that told me that i should backup all that i had in the ipod (touch, 2nd gen) into my account and then merrily set off.... to disaster.
the ipod, at first, would not respond. when it finally did, i opened it to inly find that all my apps that i have downloaded since i got the touch are not there. all the apps that i used on a daily basis, all the notes and everything in 3rd party apps.... gone.
this only got incredibly more frustrating when i repeatedly tried logging into my itunes store to find the apps and re-download them. i can only see a list of said apps, but i think it is mildly ****** to ask of one to go searching for them again and download them one by one. what the heck?!
does anyone know a simpler way to get them back? i remember the previous itunes had a view of your account in which you could see all the apps you had ever purchased with icons and all, and if you had deleted one that you wanted back you could click on it again.

Same thing here. After upgrading to iPhone OS 4, not one app can be found on my entire system. It makes no sense. When you click on the gray exclamation point to locate the app, it's saying they're in a folder called `Mobile Applications` in my iTunes folder. Okay... except no such folder exists. ***? It's going to take me hours to re-find and re-download each and every app. There has to be some secret/hidden location where .ipa files are stored but I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas would be terrific.

10.6 upgrade deleted all playlists, purchased items, podcasts

I just upgraded to 10.6 - and was horrified to find out when opening iTunes again, my playlists, podcasts, purchased items, etc weren't there. It's a total iTunes reboot! All my audio content is stored on an external HDD (yes, its plugged in) - though the iTunes Libraries are on my laptop.
Any idea how to recover these without having to go through the hassle of Time Machine?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library as iTunes Library (Corrupt) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See MusicFolder Files Not Added and Super Remove Dead Tracks for tools to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.

Server 10.5.7 upgrade deleted all user and group Info -- Receiving error -1

After upgrading our Dual 2.0 G5 server that was running 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 all groups and user information lost access. In addition when starting the workgroup manager error -14008 appears. Also when we look into the console log the following shows up

I looked into A&I more, maybe it's not as nuclear as I thought. I presumed it meant I needed to reinstall all non-apple Apps, which means digging up disks and codes, none of which I have here. I'm away from home for another 4 weeks, which means doing that is difficult.
Being away is also why my back-up is a little out of date, I didn't bring the time machine drive for that MBP with me. I had it shipped to me as soon as I had problems, but the back-up I'd have to roll back to is now 1-2 weeks old and might still have the funky user:group problems since my timezone problems began before the 10.5.7 update.
I think DiskWarrior may of finally repaired the user:group issues. Not 100% sure but it's looking better. I just noticed that the primary user is admin but User is 502 and Group is 502. Whereas my secondary user account (also Admin) on that MBP User is 501 and Group is 20. My recollection is 20 is staff and both users groups should be 20.
I'll look into A&I more, probably do it when I get home.

I'm having huge problems with my email account and with soem otehr feature since i upgraded to Mavericks....
Others sharing teh same problems? Also, I tried to contact apple via chat but option is not given to me now that I am travelling trough Asia... HELP!!!
Also app store now wants to sign me in with anotehr username (teh one of the programmer who 5 months ago installed the programs for me)...
