Will 4G iPod drive work in iPod Photo?
Quick question: I have an iPod photo which is not working ... I have tried a working drive from a 4G iPod and it still would not work so I am assuming the problem is with the circuit board rather than the drive ... I just wanted to check - the 4G drive should work in the iPod photo shouldn't it?
Hi,
Now I can tell you that 20gb 4th Gen iPod and the 20gb iPod Photo use the same hard drives. If you have the hard drives next to each other check the model number. It should be something like this MK4004GAH. It could be your Logic Board that needs replacing.

I think this is the info someone would need:
You may want to post machine info.

Will this hard drive work in my 2009 MBP 13 inch?
Hello, I've decided to upgrade the hard drive in my Mid 2009 MBP 13 inch to roughly a 500gb from 250gb. My friend has a 2011 MBP 13" and he just upgraded it to 1TB and has his 500gb 5400rpm SATA 2 and said I can have it. Will that hard drive work in my 2009 MBP without any headaches? I just want to be sure before I put it in...Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!
I think 750GB is the Max you can install in your 09 MB. ( not a 100% sure )
I've seen some people trying to install 1TB on their 09 MB and had issues.
Give it a shot, if it doesn't work, you can always exchange it for the smaller 750GB.
Good luck.. -

Will this external drive work??? HELP
Hi all,
I wanted to know if there is any way that this hard drive works with OS X? I've read reviews that it doesnt work with Macs, but some websites state that its Mac-compatible.

Anyone have this drive? Is there any way that i can reformat the drive or do something to it, so i can use on my mac?
Thanks very much everyone.I use a small USB drive from Maxtor, and it certainly
works as a bootable drive. You can boot from a USB
hard drive if you have an Intel Mac. I have done
it.
Daniel
Correct. It will boot from an Intel Mac.

Will a 2tb drive work in my macpro?
I have a 2008 8 core macpro. Will a 2tb internal sata drive work ok? Thanks.
Short answer is "yes." You have the long answer, which is, it's not as fast, won't take advantage of the new SATA controllers, etc.
But if you are looking to cram a 2T drive in your system, it will work and it will format to 1.89T or so, giving the room you need. I have a Mac Pro 4,1 (Dual Quad-Core Nehalem) box with three 1T drives and one 1.5T drive and they all work great. I'm using the larger drive as a Time Machine drive. In that I'm looking for security and capacity, speed isn't that big a deal.
And if you're looking for raw speed, you need to go to external arrays on your Mac Pro. If you're editing HD video, you must be on an array and you should be on a system that will feed you as many streams as your CPU can handle. -
Will this hard drive work with my macbook?
I have a late 2006 Core Duo Macbook. I was wondering if I could use this hard drive with my macbook, it's a 7200 rpm 200 gig hard drive. Btw I mean internal not external. Does the macbook have a limit on how big of a hard drive you can use? Would this hard drive work at 7200 rpm in the macbook?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145160Hi.
The drive will work perfectly in your macbook. Two weeks ago i was also thinking about buying the Hitachi Travelstar 7k200.
But afterwards i bought this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136123
The WD Scorpio 250GB. Off course it´s not as fast as the Travelstar. But for me three things we´re quiet nice about this harddrive: the noise (it doesn´t make anyone) and the price (got it for 150 euro) and it consumes way less power (means better battery life).
http://www.storagereview.com/WD2500BEVS.sr?page=0%2C7
BTW: It really doesn´t make any noise.
So just in case you´re still unsure whether to buy the Hitachi or anything else. But if you want the fastest notebook HD you can get today, buy the Hitachi.
Have a nice day and fun with your new HD!

Will new hard drive work?
One of my drives is starting to act up and I need to replace it. My Dual G4 manual says I can use 2 Ultra ATA 100 drives and 2 Ultra ATA 66 drives. It's apparent that drives have moved beyond these specs, I'm considering a Maxtor Diamond Max 10 300GB ATA-133 drive thats only $90 at Tigerdirect. Will this drive work, and will it suffer a performance hit being in only an ATA100 slot or ATA66 slot.
Thanks
Mac Twin G4 1GHZ Mac OS X (10.4.3)Hi Kennet
the vast majority if not all ATA-133 drives are backwards compatible with ATA-100 and ATA-66 so it should work fine. There may be a small performance hit but not as much as the figures would suggest. 133MBps is the maximum theoretical transfer rate but most drives don't achieve anywhere near that in burst yet alone substained data transfer.
Depending on how you intend to use the new drive it may be quicker in practice on the ATA-66 bus (assuming you only have two drives) rather than sharing the ATA-100 bus with another drive.
I hope this helps. -
Will this hard drive work with my iBook G4?
My iBook's hard drive is in disrepair and I was wondering if this had drive will work. I am pretty sure it will, but I don't want to spend any money until I know for sure. http://www.compusa.com/products/productinfo.asp?productcode=316211&pfp=srch1&tabtype=ts#moreinfo

iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.6)Hi TheKMan,
Welcome to Apple Discussions
Yes; it says it will work, but I didn't give us the size. I never really recommend anything from CompUSA, especially non-namebrand hardware. I have bought/seen a lot of CompUSAs products that don't work (need to be returned). The only thing that I like about CompUSA is that they have a great return policy.
Jon
PS Just wondering; are you going to replace your hard drive? Have you brought your iBook to your local Apple Store/Reseller?

Will this hard drive work on a T43?
My T43 hard drive (Fujitsu MHV2060AH) went kaput.I bought a new one, a 120Gb WD drive, just to find out T43s have a very limited list of hard drives they like. So now I have to return this drive.
So, I can't find my old hard drive model, but I found a similar one on newegg - Fujitsu MHV2060AT (http://is.gd/rFl8).
Does anyone know if this hard drive will work on my T43?
Thanks!
BernardoWhen you said that it will not work with your T43 do you mean that you bought a SATA HDD rather than an IDE? If you have an IDE and you are just getting the ERROR 2010, saying that your HDD is not supported and that you might need to update the firmware or something, you don't have to worry, as it should still work. You will just have to decide whether you can stand the error message everytime you boot. I really doubt you will be able to find the old supported HDDs for the T43.

Will western digital drive work?????????
I am going to buy a hard drive (this one). I called up western digital, and they said it would work with all mac computers. But the guy from tech support didn't sound sure. I think i saw baby boomer say that WD drives hardly ever work (i could be wrong).
I've had a 2TB WD My Book USB drive on my iMac for over a year with no problems. Also I reformatted it for Mac Os Extended Journaled. The software from WD is not that great though and I thought I lost the drive when I mistakenly entered the wrong password to access the drive and WD had a recovery process.
However the next time I will buy a Seagate drive. -
Will this external drive work with my macbook?
I'm thinking about investing in an external hard drive, is this one compatible with my original Macbook Pro?
http://www.amazon.com/Iomega-Portable-External-Drive-34945/dp/B003D3NDD2
(side question, I've never used an external HD before. Will it just mount on my desktop and I drag and drop files?)
Thanks in advance.Yes it will work . Most HD are preformated for windows machines so I would definitely reformat. More info: http://db.tidbits.com/article/10307
Might want to think bout partitioning if you have the space. Maybe one partiton is for making a bootable clone with carbon copy cloner. http://www.bombich.com/
I do not believe 10.4 is time machine capable- otherwise I would recommend that as well.
Backing up is a good strategy. Congratulations for making the step!
Yes drag and drop into your empty partition.
Hope this solves your problem

Will this DVD Drive work in a Lombard?
Hello my friend has a PB G3 Lombard running 10.3.9 with a 333MHZ CPU. It has a CD Drive in it, and I have a drive that i pulled from a Dell Laptop that had a bad logic board, well i took the dell housing off and found it is a HL Data Storage drive (which i successfully installed a HL drive in my powermac, so i feel good about this lol) anyway, can i put this drive in the Powerbook so he can watch movies and what not?
Hi ze,
I can't say for sure if that drive will work in a G3 laptop like a Lombard or Pismo. I do know that the 333MHz Lombad did not come with the necessary goodies to work with a DVD drive without a PCM CIA converter card that enables it. I haven't looked for quite a while, but the cards were running about $50, a year or so ago on ebay.

Will this hard drive work on my T61? Toshiba MK5065GSX
This is the link to the one I want
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/194726
I could get this instead, Ive seen on a thread here someone fitted it to a T61
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136790
There are quiet a few to choose from on that site, the link is below, however I do not know what I need besides it being a SATA. I would ideally like to spend less than £50 but its not a huge deal if its more and I prefer 500gb but 320 is ok.
http://www.ebuyer.com/search?limit=50&store=2&cat=4&subcat=2274&sort=pricelow&page=1Yes your first choice will work in your T61. Any 2.5" with 9.5mm height SATA drive should work without problems in your system, you will however only get SATA 1 performance.
Hope this helps
