Will a blank Namespace field in SCDO create problem ?

Hello Everyone,
While cerating Object Class via tcode SCDO, if I leave the field Namespace blank, will it create any problem ?
When I give /0CUST/ as Namespace, I get a message :
" Namespace /0CUST/ not allowed "
and when I leave it blank I get a message :
" Change Document is not in your Namespace, Do you still want to create the object ? "

The last message is because you try to use a name which does not start by Y or Z.
For the first message, /.../ namespace is reserved to SAP, or you have to ask SAP one for the developments of your company.

The create blank signature field function is no longer available in Acrobat 8.0, as it was in 6.x and 7.x. This was an extremely useful tool to add a quick signature block to a document you needed digitally signed by another party.
Adobe LiveCycle Designer does have the ability to add the field, but that requires additional steps to convert the document to a form when a forms functionality is truly unnecessary for a simple signature capture.
Please, add this capability back to the native Acrobat program. We have hundreds of users who use this functionality daily.

You are right it is not as it used to be in Acrobat 6 and 7, but it is still there!
Go to Tools->Forms, and select the Digital signature tool.
A cross will show up, and you can use t for placing your new and EMPTY signature field

Create Blank Signature Field in Acrobat 9

Looks stupid, but I don't find the way to create blank signature fields in Acrobat 9 pro, I need it to pass the file on so that Reader users can sign it.
To sign and then delete the signature (leaving the blank signature field) is not a valid alternative, this will need to be done by many (not only me).

Blank form fields with data?

I've created a form in Acrobat and sent it to a few people to test. When they send it back to me, some people say even though they saved their data, when it's previewed in their browser (email) it looks blank. When I receive forms sent back to me, the form appears blank, but when I click in the field, the answer appears.
How can I fix the form so that no one is confused by a blank form after they fill it out? I'm not concerned about receiving the blank forms since there is data, I'm more concerned that a customer will see a blank form after they've filled it out and get frustrated.
BTW, we've tried opening the forms returned to us in MAC and PC, same problem.

The problem occurs when the Preview application on a Mac is used to fill-in the forms. It is well known the Preview corrupts PDFs in a number of ways and it should be absolutely avoided when using PDF forms. The damage it does to a document cannot be repaired, but you can open the corrupted form in Acrobat, export the form data (to an FDF or XFDF file), and import it back into a blank form. Then inform your users to use Adobe Reader and not Preview.
Also, some PDF viewers (e.g., iOS's built-in viewer) have no support for PDF forms at all, so forms will appear blank when opened. The fix for this is to have them open the form in Adobe Reader. This is assuming the form was not corrupted with Preview.

i have to make changes in the ZFM(Shipment Idoc Create). After executing the function module shipment will be created.
And when i run the Transacion VT03N in TAB IDENTIFICATION the "Shipment Description" field should be blank.

I have no solution to your problem, but I have noticed something which I very much need. I want to be able to extract entries from JAR file which I specified in JNLP application descriptor. The word is about COM libraries which I want to copy and register on every client. But I have no chance to open JAR file which is specified in the JNLP app-desc.
In your code, you do this:
InputStream bla = clazz.getResourceAsStream();
which is not different from delegating the call directly to class' ClassLoader, which is the thing I do. I refer to the JAR file without path, like this:
InputStream huh = this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("some.jar");
Returns null pointer. As far as I know (I tested it before) Java Web Start does not put its cache paths in "java.class.path" and "java.library.path" system properties, so I cannot hope to know certain path from which I could download my JAR.
So, is there a way to access those JAR files, to copy them locally somewhere, to extract files from them, etc?

Mac OS X Preview application and phantom blank form fields

I created a "employment application form" for my company in Acrobat. Occasionally our HR department will get a returned application form with the "phantom blank form fields". The information is there but invisible. I used the export form data and have been able to recover the data and make a viewable .pdf again but I would like to see if any one else has been encountering problems like this and what the solution may be.
In this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/4746439 Brian points out that it's likely that folks are using the Mac OS X Preview rather than Reader to fill in the form (thought for a long time that it was some sort of platform issue - the Mac thing makes perfect sense). Is there a way that I could possibly avert this problem when creating and distributing the document out of Acrobat?

How to make metadata fields required when creating folders

Related issue with SR 3-6472229431 and SR 3-6471130611.
We're using DIS 11.1.6 64-bits (2011_11_29 (rev 9756) 11.1.6.97) in a Windows 7 64-bits workstation (with UCM 11.1.1.5 in a Linux machine). The check-in of images to UCM goes fine.
I'm trying to make some metadata fields required when creating a folder. These fields are required when making a check-in, but not when creating folders.
Folders_g is enabled. DesktopTag too.
EDIT: Patch: 14695303 - WCC 11.1.1.5.0 BUNDLE ( MLR 16 ) NOV 6 2012 applied.
Is it possible?

After reading your response and rereading the original question a bit closer, the metadata prompting feature does not apply to creating new folders, only content.
Again, though, I think the focus here is in the wrong place. The metadata applied to a folder is intended to be ultimately applied to the content. You can build global rules that fire on submission of content to check if a field has a value, and throw an error if the value is empty.
If you expect users to create folders (and actually apply any metadata to the actual folder itself), you will be disappointed. Experience shows that users are not interested in that level of detail when creating content, let alone folders. Letting typical users create folders is a bad idea anyway, as they tend to create the same inefficient folder structures they previously created in file shares within Content Server.
If you need to tightly control folder attributes, you'll be better served by locking down the ability to create new folders. Otherwise you're looking at some type of customization. Keep in mind that you won't be able to customize the right click behavior of DIS. Any changes to DIS would have to be an enhancement request.

How to add new fields in the Create Suppport Message Screen

I have a requirement which is to add 3 selection fields in the Create Support Message Screen. The 3 fields are Category, Subject and Solution. The value of these 3 fields must aurtomaticallly populate the same fields in the Support Message screen in the Solution Manager for each message sent.
Is this functionallity possible? If yes, please give me some ideas how to do it..

Yes it is possible. Use statements SET and GET parameters in your program.
1. Get parameter ID for the fields Category, Subject and Solution from the data element. or Set parameter ID.
2. Use GET Statement in the PBO of the Support Message screen .
GET PARAMETER ID 'XYZ' FIELD <field-name>.
"XYZ is the parameter ID
"<field-name> - field should have the field . not in quots
3. Use SET statemet in the PAI of the Create Support Message Screen or where the value is available for the 3 fields.
SET PARAMETER ID 'XYZ' FIELD <field-name>.

4. Parameter ID : Double click on the data element of the specified field->Select Further Characteristics TAB -> u can see the parameter ID or U can set the parameter ID there .

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

Its required as there are many custom fields to be used for field catalog creation and adding them in one of the existing tables listed is not a feasible option for us. Please let me knw if its possible..?? If yes how to get it done..??

You need to add your field in the Data Dictionary first. For example, if
you want the new field in the Order Item field catalog do the following.
Look at structure MCVBAPUSR (SE11). If you already have a user structure
appended to this structure then you can add your new field to your existing
structure. If there is no structure already appended to MCVBAPUSR then you
must create a new structure with your field in it and then append the new
structure to this one.
If you look at structure MCVBAP you will see the data appended to the end
of it.
Now you should see it in the field catalog.

The same field should be in editable mode when we go and edit an existing Campaign.

I tried changing the rv_disabled = 'TRUE'.
But it will grey out the field even when editing an existing Campaign also.

At the Left handside there will be Runtime Repository tree u can see the Campaign in the Root Nodes , under go to the relations and u will get the CPGDescriptionRel (Description) as the relation . Get the attribute EXTERNAL_ID from the parent_entity variable in the GET_I_LANGU method.
data lv_campaign type CRM_MKTPL_CAMPAIGNID.
CALL METHOD PARENT_ENTITY->IF_BOL_BO_PROPERTY_ACCESS~GET_PROPERTY_AS_VALUE
    EXPORTING

Getting Records for Blank Date Field

In the listcube, click on calday and when a selection comes on
in the box of calday right click and option -> equal and leave
blank the field. That will display everything blank

Blank Space Field

Hey Folks,
In R17 you used to be able to create a blank WebLink field so that you can put an empty space in the page layout. You could hold ALT and type 255 to do so. I cannot get this to work on R18, has the work around been removed?

Hi, I am trying to blank four fields out in our FI IDOC for a certain business reason. These fields must be blank (it is the FIDCC1 message type). I am trying to use transaction bd79 (converting data from sender to receiver) maintain rules. Is there a way to blank out these fields using a conversion rule? I can change data fine but I cannot find a way to blank or null a field out. Thanks in advance.

You should have a look at the inbound function module (linked to your inbound process code). sometimes there are checks that if fields are initial that nothing will be changed.

You can implement the BADI" BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI".
You can check for the role of the user who has logged in(e.g. for user REQUESTER,there will be a distinct role to idnetify that the user is a requester) and then acc set the display properties for the field PRICE.
