Will a Canadian iPhone 5s work in Hong Kong

Hi,
I just bought a new unlocked iphone 5s from apple store and i was wondering if it would work in hong kong. I am going down there for 6 months and i would like to use my phone down there...
I don't care if LTE doesn't work as long as I can get internet on it and that i can use it to text and call people...

Since it is an unlocked phone, it should work. Again, the warranty is only valid in Canada, and you understand it may not support all bands. Otherwise you should be alright. It is probably better to activate it in Canada before you leave.

  • Will a Canadian iPhone 6 work in the UK?

I currently live in the UK though I'm a Canadian. I have been looking at upgrading to a new phone as I currently have an unlocked Canadian iPhone 4s that I brought to the UK with me. I was hoping to upgrade to the 6, and thought buying in Canada might be less expensive overall as I am going home for a visit in a few weeks. This being said, I have read a lot of reviews saying that the UK is not very LTE friendly and often doesn't even support the 4G from the iPhone, because they are on different networks or something…I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to get the phone in Canada as it would be cheaper, and I may end up back in Canada within the next two years, meaning it might be more ideal to have a Canadian phone anyway. I just wanted to know if there is any other information I should know before making this decision.
    Thoughts?

I tried to understand that chart/table twice, and still don't fully understand how to decipher it really. It's a lot of jargon to me. This is what I've got from it so far….Can you let me know if I'm anywhere near the right track?
The Canadian LTE band compatible model (Model A1549) does not appear to be the same as the Model A1586 which appears to be the one that is compatible with UK bands. Does this mean that buying the A1549 would not work in the UK 4G bands and the A1586 would not work in Canada? There is a disclaimer on the A1586 however, saying that "Models A1586 and A1524 also support LTE networks listed for models A1549 and A1522." So it would be ideal to get the A1586 which should work on both sets of bands. Is this a correct assumption?
From what I found on this website. http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/ my carrier in the UK (Three), will work on the 800 MhZ, which is listed under both models. But I don't fully understand as I said earlier.
I understand that the warranty is not valid worldwide. This is not something that really worries me unless there are a considerable number of bugs within the iPhone 6. Is this the case? I have had my 4s for nearly 3 or 4 years now, and have not had to take it back for repairs or anything once. (knock on wood). I could likely easily send it to the apple store in canada for repairs and have my parents at home send it back to me in the UK when it was repaired.
I'm more concerned about whether it will work in both countries successfully to the best of its ability, or not.

  •  Will an unlocked iPhone 5 work on the Verizon network?

Will an unlocked iPhone 5 work on the Verizon network? I know this question is probably premature, I don't think apple has mentioned anything about it yet, but I saw that past unlocked iPhones (4 and 4S) would not work on Verizon. I'm a Verizon customer and I want to keep my unlimited data plan, the only way to do this is buy a iPhone at retail, but from what I saw regarding the 4 and 4S I may not be able to do this. I did read that the iPhone 4S is being made in three distinctive models, 1 with a CDMA network and 2 others with varied GSM - LTE networks. I'm hoping this means that an unlocked iPhone 5S can now run on the Verizon network. Any ideas if I'm correct? Thanks.

Honestly I'm not convinced to jump to sprint so quickly. I am monitoring my data as it is, I'm a heavy data user as I watch a lot of movies from Netflix Hulu plus crackle etc. the flip side of this is that I do most of this on my iPad, which I have currently unlimited data on, so I can still get by without unlimited data on my cell, it's more of me not wanting to lose what I have. But thanks for all the info. I'm secretly hoping that apple has redone the unlocked iPhones but I wont lose any sleep over wishful thinking. I'm just quite anal I guess lol. Thanks again

  • If I block safari will find my iphone still work

If I block safari app on iPhone 5c will FIND MY IPHONE Still work?

Yes, blocking all data would prove to be a problem for Find My iPhone, and it would only work when connected to wi-fi. Also, you could not block other internet browsers, except you could block the installation of other apps. You could restrict Safari and the installation of apps, which would prevent using Safari and installating other web browsers, and that should still allow cellular data for Find My iPhone. You would also have to look at any other data using apps, such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. that would user Internet if you were to see about not using Smart Limits. That is a hard call to make.

  • Is there any way to get my iPhone 4S from Verizon to work in Hong Kong?  So far it only says cannot activate cellular data

Is there any way to get my iPhone 4S from Verizon to work in Hong Kong?  So far it only says cannot activate cellular network.  I have cleared all settings, turned off CDMA...etc and still nothing.

If you are there now, there is nothing you can do.  Before going you should have talked with Verizon, they have international service programs they can activate, but it has to be before going.

  • IPhone 3G S in Hong Kong

Did you folks know that the iPhone 3G S in Hong Kong is an unlocked phone? I had no idea! I wonder how someone in the U.S. can buy an iPhone 3G S from Hong Kong. I'd love to use my T-Mobile prepaid SIM card on an unlocked iPhone.

But do you know using A-GPS requires data streaming? Especially Google Map requires a constant Internet connection. You can go purchase $99 Tom Tom or Navigon Map but again A-GPS requires some data to be transfered back/forth between the server to lock the satellites in order to locate your phone's position. The GPS position program in iPhone integrates WiFi, Cell Tower, and Internet Protocol to speed up the satellite log in process. You cannot limit the method to use for the A-GPS in iPhone.
If you accidentally select Safari, Stock, Temperature, and any apps that requires Internet connection, then you will be charged by the data plan without clarification like those in Symbian OS. You can't turn off the data transfer unless you are roaming.
So I suggest you don't try to be smart when using iPhone 3GS. It's basically a computer that has to be connected to the Internet to survive in order to get the most from the device. iPhone is not just a phone but a mobile communication computer.

  • Will an unlocked iPhone 5s work in Spain?

I am moving to Spain for a year and would like to get a new iPhone before going. My plan is to buy an unlocked iPhone 5S from the apple store in the US, bring it to Spain, and use a Spanish phone company (vodafone, orange, yoigo,...) SIM when I get there.
Will the unlocked iPhone 5S that I can buy from the apple store in the US work there?
The model I can buy at the US apple store is A1533 (GSM).
    Thank you!

So, it would work over there. However, it would potentially be on 3G as opposed to 4G/LTE?
    Correct.
My recent experience in Spain was that cell service is excellent almost everywhere.

  • Mobileme is dead.  Will find my iPhone still work?

mobileme is dead.  Will find my "Find my iPhone" still work much longer?
It seems to for now, but did Apple mention a replacement for "Find my iPhone" without mobileme?
    -Apple 2GS

MobileMe is NOT dead - where did you get that idea?  iCloud will eventually replace MobileMe, but it's still in beta and there will be MANY announcements about the transition before it occurs.  Right now, iCloud also provides Find My Phone,  but I wouldn't rely on it as it's still beta code.

  • Will an Att Iphone 5 work in the UK with a UK sim card

Will an Att Iphone 5 with a UK sim card work in Scotland.
I don't want to unlock or jailbreak my phone either.
    Thanks

How do you "officially unlock" a phone.
    Does that change the warranty.
Does unlocking change EVERYTHING like jailbreaking it does.
Do I have to reload everything on my phone.

  • How can I get my iPhone inspected/fixed (in Hong Kong)?

I have just had an extremely unhelpful experience with Apple Store/Support, and am wondering if anyone has tips on how to get my iPhone repaired quicker.  I live in Hong Kong, so this is probably only of interest to community members here.
My iPhone broke down over the weekend.  Half an hour or so ago, I visited the Apple Store in IFC Mall, and discovered it is now a requirement to make an online booking to seek help from the Genius Bar.  Luckily, an available member of staff did try to assist me.  So far so good.  After tinkering with my phone for a while, he concluded that I needed to have my phone inspected and, for that, I would need to make an online booking.  So I went back to my office and tried to book, only to find that "there are no available appointments".  I called the store, and discover that it is only possible to book for today and tomorrow.  The person on the phone tells me that I can try to book again later.  Bear in mind it is only 10am-ish here in Hong Kong, and bookings for the next 48 (working) hours are already full.  I do not want to risk waiting till tomorrow and discovering that, again, bookings are full.  The guy suggests that I try another store.  I am not keen as I work literally upstairs from the IFC Mall store and the others are far less convenient.  Reluctantly, I try to book elsewhere, but there are also no available appoitments at the other 2 Apple Stores either.  There are a small number of authorised support service providers dotted around Hong Kong, but none are terribly convenient, plus I prefer to do this via the Apple Store if at all possible - and preferably downstairs at the IFC Mall store so that drop-off and eventual pick-up can be easily done while at work.
Is it just me or is this system very consumer-unfriendly?  I asked to speak to a manager at the IFC Mall store to ask if I could just drop my phone off for an inspection, and I was told (a) there isn't a manager in-store and (b) I could leave my name and number and a manager will call me back "in 48 hours".  Meanwhile, my phone does not work at all, yet all I need to do is to drop off my phone for an inspection (I don't even need anyone to look at it).  I have no idea if this is how the Genius Bar works in the rest of the world so maybe my expectations are too high.
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how I can get some help from Apple on this?

I'm pleased to report after a bit of persuasion, a second visit to the IFC Mall store this afternoon got me an ad hoc appointment at the Genius Bar so my phone is off for a repair now.
