Will a normal optical wireless mouse works with a MacBook?

Hi again
Just wondering if a USB optical wireless mouse bought for a PC will work with the MacBook? Just that I hate using touchpads all the time...
Thanks!

PC!

The v270 is overpriced, but BTMM that costs twice the price is not? That's some wierd logic there - LOL!
In any case, find a mouse that you like that feels comfortable in your hand at a price that you are willing to pay.
I like both the Logitech and BTMM for what that's worth. I do like the MM better, but YMMV.

Does the hp mini wireless mouse work with a mac?

The only one that will work with OSX is the one you order with the Mac Pro from Apple. The others don't have the correct firmware for OSX.
I've also noticed that the online store lets have an option for the QuadroFX 5800 to purchase with a Mac Pro
No, it's the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600. That is the only way to get it. NVIDIA does not sell it directly.

The above question. Will I have to download any extra drivers? Is the MM really that bad? Thanks.

    Officially...No: http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/specs.html
In reality... probably. Why would you want it anyway? There are many many better mice out there.

  • What wireless routers work with the MacBook Pro?

I have been having problems with my inconsistent D-Link 624 and I realize that I will have to replace it.
I would like to know what routers are compatible with the MacBook Pro. My D-Link worked fine with my iBook but I think it does not work with the Intel binary. Any suggestions?

I had problems with a number of different Linksys routers (dropped signal, couldn't connect to some iChat AV calls, etc). I'd been using some Airport express routers for music around the house, which I switched around a made a primary wireless router and a reange exapnder. I've had ZERO problems since.
BTW, I was having almost identical problems with my PowerMac G5 (with a wireless card).
I'm curious if something in recent upgrades (10.4.7?) has changed the OS's ability to connect reliably with non-Apple routers.
But at least my Apple routers seem to be working very well.

  • Can't verify disk permissions (or get wireless to work) with SR macbook

Anybody else on an SR macbook wanna try verifying their disk permissions and tell me if it works? Also I have the ubiquitous airport problem (it just plain doesn't work). I used to have a mid 2006 revision and it worked flawlessly (until someone stole it!)

Your response was not a helpful response.  I like you also want to use the "supremely superior MAC", but unlike you, I would prefer to have one laptop I use for everything and would prefer to use the best.  I would sure rather convert my entire business to MAC (which would mean 100s of machines), but unfortunately all the software that it takes to run my business only runs on Windows.  All of my software runs much better on the MAC even with Windows O/S.  That would be a huge selling point for MAC if they even made a modest attempt to support users that only want to use a MAC and would llike to completely move away from the PC. I would love to throw all of my PCs in the trash.  I have an iPad and use my iPhone for everything I do in the business side of my life along with my MacBook, with only one issue that the Windows side won't let me connect to my wireless networks and I can't find Apple support or others like you that can offer any solutions.

  • Does the Magic Mouse work with a MacBook (early 2008)

Just wondering before I decide to buy it.

As long as bluetooth is installed it depends more on software level.  Since you show as 10.6.7 then a definite yes.
    Here are the software requirements:
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0* or Mac OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0
Note that the update isn't needed with 10.6.2 and later because it's already included.

  • Will the new Apple wireless keyboard and mouse work with my Macbook Pro?

Looking at purchasing a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Macbook Pro. Figured the one made by apple will work, but not sure... Any suggestions on a good wireless keyboard and mouse, or knowledge on whether Apples will work or not?

    keyboard: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/MC184LLANB/
    magic mouse: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/MB829LLABB/
I just got them last week and the keyboard is new and the mouse is used but looks brand new.  And you get a free pair of AA bateries with the mouse.  And you can get 2AA batteries for the keyboard for an extra $1.29 I highly recommend going this route as I did very recently and am very pleased.

  • Will any wireless keyboard and mouse work with the Macbook Air?

I just need to know if my existing keyboard/mouse will work or if I need to purchase new.

Any BlueTooth keyboard or mouse should work. I have a nifty Kensington BT keyboard that switches from my desktop to MBA to iPad with the flick of a single key and I have a BT Magic Mouse.

  • Will the Apple 30 Inch display work with my MacBook pro? Confused!!

    Hi all,
thinking of getting a used Apple 30 inch display to go with my MBP, but not sure if it will work at the correct resolution. Ive read you need a Duel Link DVI cable, but I have Thunderbolt not mini-display port. My MBP is early 2011 (think), so I am really confused. The 27 Incher with thunderbolt would be good too, but they are too expensive for me.
Graphics card is AMD Radeon HD 6490M, 16mb RAM. 10.6.8.
I would really appriciate any advice !
    Thank you all in advance,
    Bish.

I am replying to my own post here, but i have made excellent progress and wanted to let any other viewers in the same boat, know the solution.
Basically, the Duel Link DVI cable from Apple (£70 / $99) is the bad boy that works. My confusion was Thunderbolt, but apparently Thunderbolt IS ALSO a DVI port ! So, buy the 30 incher on Ebay or off a mate, and BANZAI ! done. Glorious res of about 2560x1600pixels is awesome!
The only downside here is that it might be too big LOL !!!!
    Good luck all

  • Will this Hitachi internal hard drive work with my macbook?

I have a Hitachi 250Gb SATA 3.0Gb/s internal hard drive left over from my PC. the info for the drive is here:
    http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/products/Deskstar_T7K250
It is an older drive, but it says it is compatible with Mac OSX 10.3 and the Power Mac G4. If I get one of those internal hard drive enclosures that use USB cable to connect to computers, will it show up on my macbook and be useable? If so, which should I use, firewire or USB?

I think you've misunderstood, I know it's not a hard drive to put into the computer; I want to use it as an external drive using something like this with the 3.5" SATA hard drive:

  • Will the Apple Magic Mouse work with my Mac Mini?

    Hi
    I have a mid 2007 Mac mini — the Model 2,1 — running Mac OS X Snow Leopard, 10•6•8
I’m thinking of treating myself to the Apple Magic Mouse, or Trackpad.
Will the Magic Mouse, work with this model and version of the OS … ?
(I’m ALSO told I need to have Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0: how do I go about checking that I do … ?)

I'm not sure about the 2007 mini, but a quick check is to open your system preferences and look for Bluetooth preferences.  If there aren't any, then no magic mouse for you...

  • What is a good wireless printer that will work with a macbook and windows laptops?

What is a good wireless printer that will work with a macbook and windows laptops?

Any printer that visibly supports OS X will work fine. My personal recommendation is Brother, followed rather distantly by Canon.
Recently I have grown to favor Brother printers over the others. They are inexpensive, their OS X integration is well-implemented, their consumables are reasonably priced, and their technical support is free forever. If you need to call them and explain that you have a Mac, you will immediately receive competent assistance.
The third and subsequent choices are so far down from those two they're not worth mentioning. I have grown to dislike HP printers, for all the above reasons.
Read user reviews from vendor websites - Amazon is a good place to start, since Amazon lets people write almost anything they want... right, wrong, or completely idiotic.
Read the reviews on the respective manufacturers' websites as well, but consider the likelihood of them deleting negative reviews.
Process all those user reviews employing your own common sense, and draw your own conclusions.
Consider AirPrint compatibility for future needs. Those features add very little to the price over a USB - only or wireless printer. Understand that not all wireless printers are AirPrint compatible - AirPrint must be specifically indicated. Choose among this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
After OS X compatibility, the next consideration should be the cost of consumables. Laser printers are cheaper than inkjets in that regard.
Here is a list of AirPrint compatible Brother printers and multifunction devices

  • Will a wireless printer work with airport extreme?

Will a wireless printer work with airport extreme? Such as an HP Photosmart D110.

Yes, it will as long as it is within wifi signal range of the Extreme.  Of course, you'll need to go through the printer setup sequence. NOTE:  The D110 is not AIRPRINT compatible, so it will not print from ios operating systems that are installed in mobile devices such as iphones, ipads, ipods.  However, there are Apps that are available for non airprint printers, but their quality and effectiveness are questionable.

  • MS USB wireless mouse working through Intellipoint at startup

I use a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 with my 2009 MBP running OSX Lion. I've installed Intellipoint 8.2 software. Problem: The MBP recognizes the mouse, but doesn't automatically start Intellipoint. I have to remove the USB receiver and plug it back in, and the mouse then works under Intellipoint software and settings. How can I get Lion to get the mouse working under Intellipoint on startup?

Do you have a wired USB mouse to try?
It seems to me that the drivers from the WIFI mouse is not of the correct version for the OS you are running on.
You may want to google for the correct drivers as well.
I have tried a wired usb mouse and that wont work either :(
There are only 1 set of drivers for the wifi mouse I have, checked on the manufactures website and the driver version is the exact same one as I have on disk. The mouse worked on my other pc with the exact OS
A ps2 wireless mouse works but that mouse has no range :(

Hi - I hope this helps. The problem may be hardware related in which case I can't help, but if not, try this.
Right click and delete both of the yellow mouse HID drivers in device manager. Then do a normal shutdown and Restart with the keyboard using Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Windows Task Manager.
This should force the system to reinstall drivers when it next boots.
You may find that a simple Scan for Hardware Changes also works after you have deleted the yellow drivers.
Another trick is to try the mouse in other USB ports - sometimes the system just gets confused and sets the device to a particular port. If it is put in another port it often can't find the device.
    Good Luck
I have tried the wireless mouse in every usb port, also uninstalling them in device manager - all had no effect :(
