Will a software update erase everything off my BlackBerry Curve?

My Blackberry Desktop manager says that I can update my 5.0 software to the 6.0 software, but I'm worried if it will erase everything off my phone like my BBM contacts, pictures, music and everything else?

Hello Makenna,
During the software update the BlackBerry® Desktop Software provides a option to Backup the BlackBerry® smartphone.
You can also backup the BlackBerry® smartphone by following the steps shown here:

Thanks.

Unless you plan to restore it, if all you are doing is updating the firmware then nothing will be erased from your iPod. Even if it was you just have to reload from iTunes or your back up.

A few days ago, my HP printer software updated automatically, everything seemed fine (Mac is running Maverick, my laptop is Snow Leopard).  Out of the blue yesterday, my printer stopped printing (neither Mac can connect), I have tried everything.  Both the suggestion from HP and Apple, it's making me crazy I've spent most of time trying to fix it.

    You tried exactly what ?
I most of the time would start with the same Apple Printer Support page tech articles
OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion systems will have the necessary printing software already installed, or will automatically download and install software when the printer is connected or configured. Do not install software that came with the printer as it may be out of date, and do not connect the printer to your Mac yet. Follow the instructions that came with the printer to unpack, install ink or toner, and insert paper.  Finally, use the instructions in this article to connect the printer to your Mac.
Make sure the printer model is listed in Printer and scanner software, which is a comprehensive list of all printer models that have compatible software for OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion.
    How to add a printer
Start a print job on the Mac and manage its options
    Generate and manage PDFs
Manage the printer queue and printer dock icon
    Share the printer queue
Mac OS Printing/Fax (any version), OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion

printing in OS X Mountain Lion

Try to delete the print queue under Print & Fax / Print & Scan then manually add a print queue.
    Steps here: http://bit.ly/TdUuHL
If it doesn't work, reset the printing system:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1341
then add another print queue manually.

  • Will Apple Software Update update a 64 bit version of iTunes

On 64 bit Windows 7, will Apple Software Update update a 64 bit installation of iTunes, Bonjour, and Apple Mobile Support to a new 64 bit version of the software when a new version comes out or will it try to install pure 32 bit versions of the software when I use Apple Software Update.
Basically, is Apple Software Update smart enough to realize that the version of Windows 7 I am using is 64 bit and that I used the 64 bit package to install iTunes, Bonjour, and Apple Mobile Support, etc originally. I know that the software is not entirely 64 bit, but I would like to keep the parts that are.
    Thanks.

The answer is "yes, ASU does download the 64-bit stuff on a 64-bit PC".
I uninstalled iTunes, BonJour and Apple Mobile Device Support (all of which have at least some 64-bit componentry) on the 64-bit Vista system. Did an "iTunes + QuickTime 9.0.3" install via ASU. The 64-bit pieces were all in place after the ASU update. (AMDS program files, iTunes miniplayer stuff, iPod Service Module, 64-bit BonJour namespace provider, and so forth.)

  • Will the Software Update to 10.4.7 install firmware upgrade for SuperDrive?

Will the Software Update to 10.4.7 install firmware upgrade for a SuperDrive?
I have a Mac mini and I've just let the Software Update run as needed, but I am confused by the number of Apple update downloads listed.
I don't believe I need them, when I just use Software Update?
Seems like a simple question, but I was on Windows for the last 10 years.
    Thanks,

  • I've lost my iPod Touch. Should I erase everything off of it? And if I do, would I still be able to locate it with 'Find my iPhone' app?

If you want to track it, then put it in Lost Mode. If you erase it then you can't track it.

  • The update wiped everything off my phone.

The update wiped everything off my phone. It was updating fine, and I came back to the dreadful "plug into itunes" symbol.
Can someone please let me know why it did this? I updated to the iOS 7 without any problems like this. It's the iOS 7.0.2 that really effed me over.
I am truly devastated. All the pictures of my family are lost because I didn't think that this would wipe out my phone. If I had known, I would have backed it up.

No device in the world is perfect, and if those photos were so important,
they SHOULD have been backed up in the first place, regardless of what
    device they were on.

  • If i erase everything off an iphone that got stolen from me on track my iphone will it still be in the cloud?

I had my iphone stolen from me and i was wondering if i erased everything from the phone on find my iphone if it would still stay in the cloud

Yes QuickTimeKirk is right, you will still be able to access your data if a backup has been previously made using iCloud or iTunes. With a stolen iPhone it's also important to make sure you notify your network provider as soon as possible to prevent theif from running up your phone bill.

  • A lady at Best Buy erased everything off my iphone 3gs, now when i try to download facebook app it said it requires ios 4.3. I have hooked it up to itunes and everything but nobody knows how to get the ios 4.3 on this phone. HELP someone plz

I need help on how to download the ios 4.3. to my iphone 3gs. My mom was using it and everythig was fine but when she upgraded the lady erased everything so it would be like new and now when i try to download a app like facebook it says it requires ios 4.3. and i have asked people at phone places and i have hooked it up to itunes and still havent been able to..when i go to settings then general it doesnt show up any software updates, that whole part is erased. someon eplease help me!\

What version of iOS are you running? I'm going to bet that you do NOT have a 3Gs. You have a 3G. The highest version of iOS that can run is 4.2.1.
If you did not save a copy of the older facebook at that could run on 4.2.1 on your computer that you can sync back, then you're out of luck. The newest version (and the only one available in the app store) will not run on 4.2.1.
You will have to resort to using the mobile web page in Safari or find a 3rd party app that will run on your phone.

Ok, this is not funny!!!! What's going on with the iPhone?
Both the iTunes (old version) and iPhone were working fine until last night, when I updated the iTunes for the new version. A message came saying that I needed to restore my iPhone. Since then, the phone is not working. Every time I try to restore a message shows saying " The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (14). My macbook and iTunes does not recognize the phone and the image of USB cable is on my phone screen.
I already tried all the options on the troubleshooting, but nothing seems to work.
    Help please... I am desperate!!!

  • HT4972 Software update - lost everything!!

    Hi All
I did a software update on my iPhone 4 this morning and it did then attempted to restore itunes then came up with an error and said it was unable to restore the phone.  The phone was then off just with the itunes icon and asked me to plug it in.  I left it plugged in for hours and it eventually did restore but it only restored up tp October 2011 leaving 8 months of data missing from my phone!!!!! I have lost phone numbers, photos, calendar and apps!!!
    HELP!!

I had this problem to. You have to do it during the day so you can watch it. And it could most likely be because of your internet. When you update, make sure nothing else is using the internet. And if you have an apple id then your contacts should be synced with your account.

  • ITunes says an Update is Available, so  I click download and Software Update says everything is up to date?

This is really weird.  I have iTunes version 10.6.1 and it says version 10.6.3 is available.  I click to download and it opens Software Update.  Suprisingly, software update says "All apps are up to date." What is wrong???
    OS Lion 10.7.4

I'd try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the Apple Website:
