Will a ZappyHost email account work on Thunderbird?

I would like to try Thunderbird. I would like to know if a ZappyHost account or email will work with Thunderbird? If I make that ZappyHost email my default email, can I add my other email accounts to Thunderbird? For example, I have the following email accounts. ICQ, AIM/AOL, Outlook, Windows live. CommSpeed webmail. Seldom if ever use these. I use Yahoo the most right now, followed by two gmail accounts and one ZappyHost account. Which is any can I put onto Thunderbird, and open them on Thunderbird?
I've read many posting about Thunderbird, and other email and desktop providers. I am looking for a provider that I can retrieve or get thru one email provider. And further information you can provide would be helpful.

Thunderbird can "out of the box" communicate with standards compliant mail servers either in IMAP or POP mail protocols. Does zappyhost offer IMAP or POP, a quick Google search indicates they do.
I know AOL offers IMAP. as do Gmail Yahoo and hotmail/Outlook/Whatever marketing name Microsoft is using this week does.
Windows live is a mail client, so no it will not integrate. The mail accounts loading in it almost certainly will be compatible.
ICQ indicate they offer both POP and IMAP
My guess is you can add ALL of them to Thunderbird as there is no practical limit to the number of accounts that Thunderbird can be configured to manage from the one spot. I have some 30 accounts.

Cannot get Apple to send a verification email.  I have tested that the email account works so I know that is not an issue.  Have been to the (not so)Genius Bar twice but they do not have a clue as why it will not send the email.  When I contact Apple I just get the same links to the same posts but no answers.

Not a lot of info in your post to go by - iPhone model, iOS version, location, carrier?

  • HT3748 My exchange email account works in iPhone but it does not work in mac, how do i solve it?

I've tried several times to add my work exchange email account on macBook Pro but it cant connect to the server. It works fine on my iPhone. Is there any solution to this problem?

Are you connecting to Exchange 2003? If yes, Mail requires Exchange 2007 and higher. Your iPhone can connect but not Mail. You would have to setup as POP in Mail. Microsoft Entourage 2008 connects to Exchange 2003. It's old End of Life software so it will receive no further updates.
If you are using one of the newer versions of Exchange you might need to turn off AutoDiscover settings. This link has directions for Microsoft Outlook:

  • When will a Lightning update that works with Thunderbird v31.0 beta be released?

I was using Thunderbird v 30 beta with Lightning 3.2b1 and it worked great. Thunderbird v31 was issued, and automatically updated. Add-ons are set for "automatic update". Everything in calendar is now grayed-out, and nothing works. I searched the Lightning downloads and found that Lightning 3.2b1 is the latest version offered, and that Lightning 3.2b1 states it is for "Thunderbird 30.0 and later". Obviously, Lightning 3.2b1 doesn't work with Thunderbird v31.
    Two things:
    1. I recommend that Lightning updates be released prior to the release of Thunderbird beta updates so that your testers who utilize the Lightning add-on have the full capability they had prior to the Thunderbird update(s), and
    2. There should a) be a notice sent with updated beta versions of Thunderbird that states whether or not they will properly interface with the currently-installed version of Lightning, and/or b) the update should not be allowed to automatically update if it detects an installed Lightning add-on with which it is incompatible and require the user to decide whether or not the user wants to proceed with the update and lose functionality.

Steven is right: while it is appreciated that there is a workaround, the current procedure - upgrade TBird, restart TBird, see that Calendar is broken, think of the right search keywords, find a solution online, download, install, restart TBird - leaves a lot to be desired, to say the least. And this reocurrs every few/several months.

Hello, is your gMail POP or IMAP?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the exact message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

  • How do I change my email account password in Thunderbird?

I changed my password on my Comcast email account, and now I cannot access my email using Firefox. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about passwords anywhere on your support site. I've looked in every single menu item, and there is NOTHING to do with passwords. Help. Help me, please.

All the articles recommended seem to use the old Firefox menu system. I solved my problem, but I'm not really sure how. I did find the saved passwords by clicking the "display menu" icon (three horizontal bars) in the upper right, and then choosing Options...->Options...->Security->Passwords->Saved Passwords->Show Passwords. Then the next time I tried to check my mail, I was prompted for the password, and checked the "remember password" box. Everything works fine now.

  • I can't set up one particular Yahoo email account but other Yahoo email accounts work fine.

When I try to add one of my Yahoo email accounts to my iPhone it says "Server Unavailable Please try again later".  But I am able to log in to this Yahoo email account successfully from my iMac via Safari and I am also able to add other Yahoo email accounts to the iPhone.  It's an iPhone 4 that was just migrated from iPhone 3GS.  I've tried both on an iPhone 4 and 4S. It worked fine on the previous iPhone 3GS.
    Please help!

Choose a slighly different name for the "Name" field, and try to add your Email and Password again.

  • Why won't my iCloud email account work on iPhone 4?

Having problems getting my iCloud email account to work properly within iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. It works perfectly on iCloud.com and Mac OS X Mail and started to work on my iPhone, but since approximately 3 days ago it won't sync or download new messages. I've tried the fix guide provided by Apple and all I've accomplished is to delete all of my folders and messages downloaded prior to when it stopped working. I have also tried restoring the iPhone to no avail.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

So, it turns out that iCloud mail does work on my iPhone, just not through a certain wifi hotspot.
    Feel quite idiotic now...

  • I am heading overseas shortly for 10 weeks and would like to suspend my iMac desktop email account but receive emails on my iPad. Will taking my email account offline do this? Fozzee46

I am heading overseas shortly for 10 weeks and would like to suspend my email account on my imac desktop but still receive my emails on my ipad while away. If I take my desktop computer emails offline, will this do it for me.
    Fozzee46

You may have to contact your email provider or ISP, though you may be able to set up the email account to be used via the portable device you could carry with you in your travels, but access may vary, depending on the data plan you have, if cellular based; if not try a web-mail based account such as gmail and see if your other mail can be forwarded so you can check it via browser online.
I'm sure there are some options, ones I'd probably not consider. You may find that if your iPad and Mac desktop share an account or sync, email would still be in the Mac's account once it gets back online to the email server.
Some variables likely exist, so beyond this, I won't speculate further.
Good luck in this and safe travels!

  • How do you make .mac email account work with Mavericks?

My dot Mac email account does not work with Mavericks, now what do I do?
Ever since I "upgraded" my OS to Mavericks, applications that used to work don't work anymore.  It is frustrating.  Now I find yet one more thing that doesn't work with Mavericks:  my dot mac email account.
Should I be changing my .mac email account to dot iCloud, and how do I do that?
My trusty MacBook is starting to look more and more like Windows with all its "improvements"  I'm not very happy.  What can I do now?

  • I am unable to complete the creation of an email account for mozilla thunderbird.

The programme does not recognise my username/ password. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Yes I ran into this last night.
The simple fact is you have entered something wrong. Server address, your email address (especially after the @ sign, which is what I did) or your password for the email account.
Just exit out and create a new account making sure it has all the correct info and typed correctly.

  • Sept 4, 2014 My iPhone is not connecting to the Hotmail servers. My other email accounts work on it but all the hotmail one comes up with is "The connection to the server failed". Are other people experiencing the same issues?

Sept 4, 2014 My iPhone is not connecting to the Hotmail servers. Hotmail comes up with "The connection to the server failed". Are other people experiencing the same issues?  From: gnof51

If your Hotmail account worked previously and it suddenly stopped and gave you that message, then it is likely a problem at th Hotmail end. Did you check the Hotmail website or contact Hotmail directly to see if they are experiencing problems?

  • Safari will not open email account

I can't open my email account using Safari.
It was ok, I haven't changed anything, but when I try to open my email account, nothing happens.
I believe it may be some sort of conflict with apple 'mail'

    Well that was easy !!
I called Apple Support, they told me to click Safari, then reset Safari, select all the options and reset.
Hey presto, I now have my email account open.

  • When I change my email account's password, Thunderbird deletes all my local copies of my emails

I have a Microsoft Office 365 account I access through IMAP in Thunderbird. None of the Thunderbird "save local copies/archive/etc." options seem to actually work like they did for my Yahoo POP3 account, which could be related to my real problem, but I haven't tried too hard to fix that because downloading all the emails gives me offline access anyway. Now the real problem:
Whenever I change my password through the Office 365 webpage, the next time I open Thunderbird it tries to access that account before I can stop it, gets the wrong password, and then deletes its entire cache of my emails, so it has to redownload them once I put the right password into Thunderbird. This redownloading takes forever. How can I stop it from deleting them in the first place?

delete the password in Thunderbird, before you change it anywhere else.
Thunderbird is not very smart, but it does know if a password is missing from it's store.
