Will Adobe Branch Out?

I am just wondering if adobe will ever branch out since it is now offering Business Catalyst, along with Creative Cloud. However, there is one peice missing that would be awesome.
Why do i still have to use microsoft outlook? Can you make a email client that is intergrated with illustrator?
I mean it would be awesome to just select some content on my artboard, click export proof to email, and have a nice html adobe proof email sent to our customers right from within your software. Make the proof emails sent from adobe export function customizable and include a few flashy templates.
Adobe why do i have to sucribe to multiple companies offering clouds. Take over email clients and incorporate it into what you got.

So I wonder if adobe can create a removal tool that will uninstall all parts of the adobe downloader manager. This way the block due to pieces in the registry and elsewhere will be removed, thus allowing a clean new install of adobe download manager?
I think for just us average users, we really should not be going into the registry itself and trying to delete things. From what I can see in the registry there are the following items:
NOS folder
get_atlcom class
also in the C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files there is an object get_atlcom class
If there were just some tool from adobe to delete these like there is with the uninstall of flash player

When will Adobe AIR 2 be out?

Will it be out this year? If so, what major functionality will be introduced? Especially, will it allow an AIR program to launch other programs?
I wish we know more about AIR's roadmap so we can make decisions on how we will develop our products. Right now it's like a black box and we have to guess what will happen.

As far as I know, the only publicly-announced details about the next major version of AIR are the limited details that Arno Gourdol (Engineering manager for AIR) shared at "Flash Camp" in San Francisco last May.

Admittedly there aren't many new features described/shown, and one of the features has actually already shipped in the dot release (1.5.2) that came out a couple of weeks ago.

go to the installation directory (not a shortcut) and confirm they're installed and try to start from the install directory.

With that version of Photoshop, the most recent version of Camera Raw you can use is 6.7. If updating your Photoshop or subscribing to the creative cloud is not an option then you could use the free DNG converter provided by Adobe. The latest version of the DNG converter is 8.7.1. I am not familiar with Mac operating systems, so I'm not certain if your OS is compatible with the latest version. You can download it and try.

How do I stop the fake "Adobe Reader out of date" hijack

In IE I will get a fake "Adobe Reader out of date" screen from newupdate24.com. The screen looks official. I clicked on the update message and got loaded up with virus and malware.
The IE phishing filter is enabled and has no effect.

Is there any information that you can add to the dialog shown below that will help me decide if the NRW format used by the Nikon P7000 P&S will be compatible with my >> 10,000 image Lightroom collection?

I now shoot topside and underwater (using an Ikelite housing) with a D300S. My work flow is to copy the nef files to Lightroom 3 (for Mac) as dng files for tweaking either in LR3 or occasionally in Photoshop. I'm presently considering a P&S such as the P7000 but I'm concerned that the proprietary nrw format will be a "deal killer". How do I convert nrw files to either raw, nef or dng but not tif? WK

HI Thanks for the question. As with any new model software to convert RAW images will have to be updated for newer models. The Microsoft WIC compatible NRW should easily be read and converted by your software once they update for the newer model. Of course for the best conversion we'd recommend using Nikon Capture NX2. Hi, The issue of file incompatibility is of great concern for many potential P7000 buyers. Let me ask the question a bit differently: Can the NRW format used by the P7000 camera be read directly (or converted to NEF or DNG formats) by available Mac software such as Aperture, iPhoto, Adobe Lightroom 3 or Adobe Photoshop 5? thanks, WK

HI Thanks for the update. I'm sorry but you'd have to ask Adobe and Apple about their plans to support the P7000 images. I'd guess based on their support for other RAW format we've produced that they would but since it is their software they would be the ones who could answer. Sorry we can't help more. -David

Even in the earliest days when Nikon encrypted their white balance, it was decryptable via the Nikon SDK (without having to use the rendering feature as well...). The fact that there was a delay between the release of the P6000 and its support in CaptureNX does not prove anything except Nikon was eager to release the camera, and followed up with changes to the SDK and/or CaptureNX after the fact.
I apologize if the tone of this post seems stern, but in my opinion, its time for the misinformation to stop, and the huge body of erroneous information on the internet to begin to be dismantled.
Note: I am not a Nikon defender. I just don't like to see people being unfair to them.

The Mac apps store policy is that dot point updates are free. Major upgrade releases are paid if the developer so chooses. So if you bought Amazing App 2.0 then all updates, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc., are free. But when amazing App 3.0 comes out, it is a paid app, if the developer wishes to charge for it.

Sorry it took me a while to come back. Anyway, I cleared out the old Xcode files and went into the Developers Download area and selected to download 4.6.3 and was presented with this window
I clicked on Savefile and it downloaded. I was intrigued as to why this would work as it was exactly what I had done before. Out of interest I decided to issue the download again and this time it created a zero byte disk image and a "part" file of 1.6mB. I shall just have to put that behind me (accepting that I don't understand why one download should work and all the precious attempts should fail) and move on.

Hello again. When I said PSE 12 was an upgrade on CS2, I meant that simply from an informal point of view - and it is: it's better software in most respects. In expert mode, the features and functions are much the same as in the CS2 I had before, but enhanced and slicker. Less 16 bit colour depth and a few other things of course. Unfortunately, as it now transpires, the "few other things" has turned out to include the measuring feature.
Thanks for the work-around - only problem is ... to what Info Panel are you referring when using the line tool? I've looked around but can't see the line length being shown anywhere. Thanks in advance for any light you might be able to cast on it.
Incidentally, I upgraded my written-off Canon D5 MK II with a D6. To me it's an upgrade - it's a much better camera - though by the letter of the law, the strict upgrade path would be to a 5D MK III. One can use the word "upgrade" in this informal (but entirely meaningful) sense, I hope, without being sent to prison!!

With a Duo-core Xeon, you should be fine with SD material.
With the MOD files, this ARTICLE and its links, might prove useful. Be sure to follow all the links to other articles, and especially see the replies in those by Chris at JVC, as he knows those files intimately, and uses PrE to edit them.
As for OS, Win7 would be the way to go. It seems to have proved to be better than Vista, in almost every instance. The question is then - 32-bit, or 64-bit. Things to think about: PrE is not yet a 64-bit program, so cannot fully take advantage of a 64-bit OS. Win7-64 still seems to have some driver issues, but the people writing the drivers are catching up, and there is hope that by SP1, those will no longer be an issue. Also, one needs more RAM installed, to take advantage of a 64-bit OS, and your MoBo probably cannot take any more RAM. Also, the speed and connection of the RAM can be important, and your BIOS (and MoBo sockets), probably cannot take advantage of this newer RAM. If you are not planning on upgrading the MoBo and your RAM, then you will probably be much happier with a tuned Win7-32-bit OS. However, some programs are being released for 64-bit ONLY, like PrPro CS5. They will not run on a 32-bit OS. With the 32-bit OS, you do lock yourself out of some programs. It becomes a tough call, and only you can make it.

When will Adobe allow an artboard preview feature in Illustrator?

InDesign's solution to hiding graphics outside the artboard is the W key – a simple and highly used feature.
When will Adobe release this feature for Illustrator? I know there are scripts and other workarounds, but we just need a simple keystroke function.
Any ideas how to get Adobe moving on this?

Just been trying to sort this one out myself, I noticed that you tried re-installing Adobe Reader with the same result.
Could it be that, when you installed the first time / updated and then re-installed, Adobe Reader Protected Mode was automatically re-applied by default. Read Out Loud will not function while in Protected Mode.
You must disable it to hear Read Out Loud document reader, it is quite safe to disable this additional security function, and the only way to make it work.
To disable Adobe Reader XI Protected Mode
- Open Adobe Reader
- Click menu item Edit
- Select Preferences
- Preference panel opens
- Select Security (Enhanced) in Categories list
- Uncheck Enable Protected Mode at Startup
- Dialog opens Click Yes
- Close Preferences
- Close/Restart Adobe Reader
- Open a document you wish to read
- Activate Read Out Loud
- Choose Option to read Page or Whole Document
- or setup for Reading with the Accessability Assistant.
Hope this is the answer you are looking for, my Read Out Loud feature is functioning fine now it had me baffled for a while, thought my sound card was malfunctioning.

Will Adobe enhance the tethered shooting functionality?

Since there are several third party tethered shooting programs out there, I was wondering two things.....
A) Will adobe every enhance the camera control and shoting functionality in LR4 like the OEM and third party programs?
B) Is it possible for a third party to make a tethered shooting plug-in for LR4?

When it seems to take many more months than their competitors to offer new camera support for tethering ... I seriously doubt we will see much in the way additional capabilities for tethering in Lr from Adobe ... at least not any time soon ...
The Lr SDK has always allowed for tethering plugins ... at least one ... though when Adobe offered tethering directly in Lr, the developer stopped working on his plugin ... keeping in mind it was a free plugin for only the Mac platform ... So I would think that any enterprising coder with the desire to offer a plugin could do so ...
