Will adobe creative suite 5.5 run on mac osx 10.9.4?

We purchased the Creative Suite 5.5 with my daughter's last Mac laptop and now want to install it on her new MacBook Pro. This laptop does not have a DVD drive, though, so before we buy an external one, I wanted to verify that the software would indeed work with OSX 10.9.4.

Yes, it will run.
No need to buy an external drive if you don't want to.
If you have broadband internet and sufficient download allowance then you can download the software from
Download CS5.5 products
Once downloaded, install then enter your serial number to license it.

will adobe creative suite run on macbook air?

Do NOT get any MacBook 2012 models if you use Adobe CS4, 5, 5.5 or 6.  All models are crashing on any dialog box popup's, i.e. they are nearly unusable for work, unless you like saving every 30 seconds.  They do restart Indesign very fast after it crashes...  Apple has made no comment on what seems to be an obvious video card driver issue in OS X 10.7.4 on the new 2012 models. There are a number of other video related issues as well, but the show stopper for us is the Indesign incompatibility.  Google "fixed" the Chrome problems by removing the 3D accelerator calls thereby slowing down Chrome on these models.

  • I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 "Design Premium" for Mac.  Was Adobe Acrobat included?

    Hi,
I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 "Design Premium" for Mac.  It was purchased and downloaded ~Nov 2010.  However, it appears that I never downloaded Adobe Acrobat, which looks like it's on a separate disk.  Long story ... but am only starting to use this software now after 2 years!  Anyhow, I'm wondering if I can safely download this disk at this point?  Also, I see that there is a number of updates which I should be installing, so wondering if I should hold off on those until after Acobat is downloaded?  I did get a serial number from the install of the the other Adobe software included in Creative Suite 5.
    Many Thanks,
    Janice

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium on Mac

I am about to purchase the current MacBook Pro: 13" 2.4 GHz
Everything in it will be standard.
In the Minimum requirements for Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium it says I need a mac with 7200 RPM hard drive for editing compressed video formats; RAID 0 for uncompressed.
The Standard MacBook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz has a 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm Drive.
There isn't an upgrade that I can see to get a 7200 RPM drive.
Will the program work on this MacBook? Will the software just run slow? What is RAID 0?
    Hope somebody can help.
    Thanks

I agree with sig. It doesn't make any sense to buy a bottom-of-the-line MBP to run one of the most demanding software packages in existence, particularly if your emphasis will be on video. You'll want a 15" i5 or i7 MBP with 8GB of RAM, one or more large 7200RPM FireWire 800 external hard drives, and a high-resolution external monitor for that.

  • How do I install Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium (Mac Version)?

    Hi,
I've just received the ADobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium Student teacher edition.  My student ID was validated when I was ordering it so that I wouldn't have to register it when it arrived.  I'm new to the Mac and when I put the disk in nothing comes up to prompt the intallation.  I saw instructions to open up application folder but I couldn't see the "install app." prompt.  I have the serial number needed but don't know how to install and activate it.  I hope you can help!

There is no autoplay on Mac OS.  You will want to double click on the DVD and then launch the Setup or Install program.  It should be at the root level on your DVD.

  • I Purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium for Mac about 4 years ago and now every time i launch one of the applications it says "Trial expired"

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5 and Premiere Pro CS5 in late 2010 and I use the applications on a daily basis, until now. About a month ago I decided to create an adobe account and log in since it asks me every time, after i logged in the applications worked for about a day or two but on the third day i was getting an error that said trial expired on every CS5 application i opened except for Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Adobe Bridge CS5 and  Adobe Onlocation CS5, I no-longer have the original boxes with the serial numbers due to the fact that I moved about a year ago and the boxes with the serial numbers must have been accidentally thrown away (trust me i have spent hours looking for them, i opened every box i have). What can i do to get my products working again? To repurchase all of the products it will cost thousands of dollars that i don't have.
    Thanks for reading!

  • Adobe creative suite 5.5 pc to mac?

can anybody help ..can adobe creative suite 5.5 design premium edition student and teacher edition be transferred from a pc to a mac.  we bought this 2 years ago.

You can only swap current versions, meaning CS6. If you are still eligible for S&T pricing, simply buy a suitable CS6 Mac version, otherwise you would have to buy the commercial CS6 upgrade and make the paltform switch along the way....

  • I need to reinstall my adobe creative suite 6 on a new MAC, which does not take CDs. How do I do tho

I need to install my adobe creative suite on a new MAC, which does not take CDs.
    Any clues

Is your CS6 serial number for Windows or Mac? If Windows then you must apply for a platform swap to get a Mac serial number for CS6.
If you already have a CS6 Mac serial number then download CS6 from

  • Adobe Creative Cloud package fails to Install - Mac OSX Mavericks

I've been trying to get the Adobe Creative Cloud package that I had built with the Creative Cloud Packager installed onto a staff member's Mac but it always ends with "The Installation Failed" (No error code or explanation). If I watch the Application folders while it's running, Dreamweaver CC 2014 and Flash Builder 4.6 pop up but then get removed and then the installation fails. I have already run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, renamed the OOBE folder, and tried the installation with a newly created admin account. The package installs just fine on other Macs, but this one did have older versions of Adobe Software from CS5 and CS4 installed. I uninstalled them but my guess is that there's left over files somewhere causing a conflict.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thank You!

I managed to find a solution to the problem. I ended up uninstalling every Adobe related application and then went through the user/library and system/library and removed everything Adobe from the Application Support and Preferences folders. Unfortunately, I do not know what application or file was ultimately causing the issue.
    Thanks again!

  • Will Adobe Creative Suite 5 run on a Macbook Air?

I'm thinking of replacing my Macbook Pro 15" with a Macbook Air. I mainly do copywriting, but sometimes I need InDesign and Photoshop. Does the CS suite require a quad-core computer? Will it run on a Macbook Air?

  • Will Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium work with Mac OS 10.9?

I am concerned about upgrading from Mountain Lion when Mavericks comes available.

Knight Lancelot we have not tested CS5.5 with Mavericks.  Please be aware though that Creative Cloud versions of our applications are receiving "Incompatible Software" errors.  Please see "Incompatible Software" error | Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9) - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/incompatible-software-mavericks.html for additional information.

  • I accidentally purchased a product that needs Lion operating system. I currently have snow leopard. If I upgrade, will my older software (Adobe Creative Suites CS3) still operate properly?

I'm currently running Mac OSX 10.6.8. I accidentally purchased a product that requires Lion or Mountain Lion. If I upgrade to Maverick, will this software run properly, and will my older software (Adobe Creative Suites CS3) still run?

CS2 is no longer supported without Rosetta, last available in 10.6.8
Also, my top popular Applications in the same boat:
Office 2004 and older including Word
    Eudora 6
    FileMaker Pro 6
    AppleWorks (all versions)
    Quicken 2007** (inexpensive "upgrade" available)
NB> You may HATE 10.7 -- I know I do, and refuse to run it. It eliminates the Save command, and implements Document versioning. I am too set in my ways to make such a fundamental change. (and then the changes were largely abandoned in the next major version).

  • Installing Adobe Creative Suite 6 Student Edition on Macbook Pro

I'm trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 6 Student eddition on a new Macbook Pro.  An Application called ARVATO downloades
'Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium MAC.zip'.  When I try to open the file it just creates a CPGZ file.

Licenses are platform specific, so the Windows version will only work on the Mac if the Mac has Windows emulation software installed.  The other option would be to trade your Windows version for a Mac version, but then you lose the use of it on the Windows machine.
