Will Adobe Creative Suite 5 run on a Macbook Air?

I'm thinking of replacing my Macbook Pro 15" with a Macbook Air. I mainly do copywriting, but sometimes I need InDesign and Photoshop. Does the CS suite require a quad-core computer? Will it run on a Macbook Air?

Do NOT get any MacBook 2012 models if you use Adobe CS4, 5, 5.5 or 6.  All models are crashing on any dialog box popup's, i.e. they are nearly unusable for work, unless you like saving every 30 seconds.  They do restart Indesign very fast after it crashes...  Apple has made no comment on what seems to be an obvious video card driver issue in OS X 10.7.4 on the new 2012 models. There are a number of other video related issues as well, but the show stopper for us is the Indesign incompatibility.  Google "fixed" the Chrome problems by removing the 3D accelerator calls thereby slowing down Chrome on these models.

  • How do I activate/download my Adobe Creative Suite onto a new macbook? My previous computer and download was for Windows on a Dell.

How do I activate/download my Adobe Creative Suite onto a new macbook? My previous computer and download was for Windows on a Dell.

The answer depends on which version of Creative Suite.
    Either
install Windows on your Mac using Bootcamp or Parallels then install Creative Suite in the Windows Virtual Machine on your Mac.
Or, if you want to install natively on your Mac:
If CS6 then you can apply to Adobe for a platform swap
Order product | Platform, language swap
If CS5 then you must pay to upgrade from CS5 Win to CS6 Mac
    Creative Suite 6
If CS4 or earlier then you're out of luck. You'll have to buy a new copy of CS6 for Mac or pay to join the Cloud.

  • Want to run adobe creative suite 5.5 on macbook

I want to run adobe creative suite on a macbook pro - which one is most suitable - i do want portability so i am looking at 15' and 13" - please advice

Which programs are you going to use in CS5? Some are more intensive than others, particularly Premeire Pro, After Effects, and Flash Builder. Everything else shouldn't give you a whole lot of trouble. I would get the 15 if possible, since it is quad core. That will help out quite a bit. If you can, boost it up to the i7 for even faster performance and hyper-threading for 8 virtual cores. Boost your memory to 8GB (use third party RAM), and you will be screamin fast

  • Adobe Creative Suite Cloud on a MacBook Pro

I need to upgrade my ancient Adobe Creative Suite 3 and just learned that Adobe is now offering just one upgrade option - Creative Suite Cloud. I don't have much choice but upgrade, but before I take the plunge, I'd like to find out what I'm getting in to.
I found an unanswered thread on an Adobe forum where someone on a Mac complained about CS Cloud taking up far too much space on his hard drive. He also said something about having to move his websites into a different folder for some reason.
Anyway, I'd love to hear from others who are using Creative Suite Cloud on a Mac, especially if you upgraded from CS3. Do you have any tips to share?
I should add that I'm using MAMP to power my sites.
    Thanks!

Are you talking about adobe creative cloud?
If you are, the Adobe Creative Cloud give you most of Adobe's tools (and all that most would need) to do anything.  I will warn you about this though, is that it is a subscription, and you are basically renting it.  that means you really do not own it.
About the hard disk space, all Adobe apps seem to take up at least a GB (and this does not matter if you get the master collection or the Creative Cloud).  so ether way, it will take some space.
Also, if you want to try-before-you-buy, you can go to creative.adobe.com, and get a free account and try out all of he adobe apps available for creative cloud.  The best part of it, your apps will be updated to CS7 (if or when it comes out) instead of buying the apps again in your subscriptions.  if you need even more information, you can go to adobe's site to find out more (www.adobe.com)

  • Will adobe creative suite 5.5 run on mac osx 10.9.4?

We purchased the Creative Suite 5.5 with my daughter's last Mac laptop and now want to install it on her new MacBook Pro. This laptop does not have a DVD drive, though, so before we buy an external one, I wanted to verify that the software would indeed work with OSX 10.9.4.

    Yes, it will run.
No need to buy an external drive if you don't want to.
If you have broadband internet and sufficient download allowance then you can download the software from

  • Will Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium work with Mac OS 10.9?

I am concerned about upgrading from Mountain Lion when Mavericks comes available.

Knight Lancelot we have not tested CS5.5 with Mavericks.  Please be aware though that Creative Cloud versions of our applications are receiving "Incompatible Software" errors.  Please see "Incompatible Software" error | Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9) - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/incompatible-software-mavericks.html for additional information.

Not sure how to proceed after I have downloaded CS5

If you have already downloaded the installer then double click it to install and enter your serial number when prompted.

  • Would my I-Mac be able to handle Adobe Creative Suite?

I was looking to get Adobe Creative Suite 3 (web design-standard) to start learning some website developement. I listed the system requirements below. My concern is the first two. Like I mentioned I have an I-Mac with the Intel based duo core processor. I am assuming that requirement is satisfied based on the statement "or mulicore Intel processor." My second concern is the operating system. I am currently still running Tiger as I have heard some not so good things about people upgrading to Leopard. Would this be an issue? Any advise and/or direction is much appreciated. Thanks.
    Macintosh
    PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel® processor
    Mac OS X v10.4.8-10.5 (Leopard)
Java™ Runtime Environment 1.5 required for Adobe Version Cue® CS3 Server
    1GB of RAM
4.5GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
    DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7.1.2 software required for multimedia features
Internet or phone connection required for product activation
Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos* and other services

    Very short answer: YES
    Longer answer:
    1. Make sure you have the maximum RAM supported. 3 or 4 GB depending upon the iMac model.
    2. Personal experience says Adobe Creative Suite runs fine on all recent (since mid 2006) iMacs.
    3. Upgrade to Leopard. Worth it.
    4. Our small business runs CS3 on a 2.16GHz iMac and a 2.8GHz iMac.

  • Hi I've just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion now Quarkxpress 6.5, Adobe creative suite CS2, Adobe Acrobat 7.0 professional and Microsoft Office 2004 will nolonger open. Can anyone please advise me what I can do to get these programs running.

Hi I've just upgraded my MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Now my installed programs:- Quarkxpress 6.5 - Adobe creative suite CS2 - Adobe Acrobat 7.0 professional and Microsoft Office 2004 will not open - I get a banner saying not supported by power mac. Can anyone please help me I really need these programs for my work. Thank you!

    hi tuggerose
i think it is bad new for you. if it's any consilation i went through the same thing when i loaded mountain lion when it first came out. i think the problem is that mountain lion is a pure 64bit operating system and the software you have is 32bit. earlier os's were able to emulate 32bit but the new system does not. the answer is new software. i did it and it cost me a load of money and much angst so your not alone.

I have a 2007-08 model iMac, running Snow Leopard.
    Thanks!

Partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Mavericks into it and "dual-boot" to determine which flavor of OS X you are running.  DO NOT install Mavericks over your Snow Leopard environment as Mavericks will destroy it!
You can then experiment using Mavericks all you want with the ability to boot back into Snow Leopard as needed.

  • MacBook sv FCP Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, Office, Pronters...

Hi there, can anybody tell me whether the new IntelMacs are gonna be compatible with those programs?
MacBook sv FCP Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, Office, Pronters...
I know FCP update is coming in March. But what about the rest?/?

Firstly your post probably would have been more successful in the macbook pro forums for next time but many software makers such as adobe said the will make universal (meaning it will run without emulation, thus at full speed on the intels just as they do currently on the powerpc chips) programs soon. When they come out is up to the maker. Also currently apple's rosetta which emulates powerpc written code to work on the intel processor can handle a plethora, although not all, powerpc applications (including the current version of photoshop).

After doing what she asked, I deactivated, and uninstalled my Adobe Creative Suite 2. Everything. So after all this, I reinstalled, entered in the new serial I got through their webpage for the special version after creating an Adobe ID. Guess what? After an unpleasant re-installation process (there is three downloaded parts you have to download for CS2 in which disc2 and disc3 are set on a default path that is separate from disc1 which you need to converge being it creates two folders with similar naming structures), and I ended up opening Adobe Photoshop only to find it say the very same thing I meant to avoid: your serial, name, organization, yadha, yadha, is incorrect/missing. Adobe will now close.
So frustrated with this company, and its support.

Well, now I cannot reproduce the error because I cannot install it again! Woohoo! For some reason, all three discs executables try installing the folders, files, etc... into a different folder making it when I try installing CS2 impossible since it asks for Disc 2, Disc 3, etc..
ANYWAY, my main issue was began with when I somehow managed to install it correctly, I got the very same message I contacted you guys over: Adobe Photoshop will now close because missing serial number something like that, and following it saying it will close.
