I have not read all you wrote, so I may have missed some points. As I understand it, you installed FP 10 on IE7, but it won't play any Flash content?
    Try this
download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
close all browser windows, then run the uninstaller
download the offline ActivX installer for Internet Explorer from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
close all browser windows, then run the installer

How would appealing to Professionals by excluding windows XP be suicidal?   Assuming the next version takes a year or so; what pro editer will be running a 32 OS a year from now?
I didn't say anything about "professionals" (that's your addition) and I didn't say anything about Windows XP. As far as I'm aware, even Windows 7 will still be available as a 32-bit version. And I would submit that a large percentage--perhaps even a majority, though I have no numbers to back this hunch up--of the installed Premiere Pro user base are not what we would typically classify as "professionals". I quick reading of a cross-section of posts on this very forum should be evidence enough of that. I think the notion of a "video professional" went out the window when desktop video editing software and production equipment became affordable to Every Joe, and I say this as someone who considers himself a "video professional" and tries to make his living as such. The barriers to entry were removed, and for better or worse, Adobe is largely responsible for that--giving Premiere away for free with hardware back in the day, or providing the Creative Suite bundles today, for example. This is why Avid, which was always The Professional's Choice (tm) had to do away with half of their product line and slash the price on their flagship product to an obscenely affordable level. They realized that prestige meant nothing for market share and for profit.
I don't think Adobe necessarily cares too much about being the professional's choice at this stage of the game, at least not with their video editing product. They want to be as much to as many as possible--there is little benefit in being elite, and a move at this time to a solely 64-bit platform is elitist. They are digital media socialists, at least while they're trying to overtake Avid and Apple. I think of Premiere Pro in its present state as sort of a gateway drug--it may be as hardcore as you need to get, or once you get a taste, you need to move on to something a little more powerful. Look at how Premiere now interfaces with Avid (AAF import/export) and FCP (XML import): it's the digital equivalent of passing the dutchie. Once they've got enough loyalists, I do believe you'll see a move to an all 64-bit platform--but not until everyone's feeling reeeeeeeeally gooooooood.
Rats. Now you've got me thinking all seriously about this. Somebody pass the chips.

  • Why can't Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Time remap Audio and Video together?

In case you didn't notice, my question is WHY.  I don't know why Premiere Pro can't do this.  From what I understand at the moment, the only way to time-remap audio in any way shape or form using Adobe software is through Adobe After Effects, which my computer has absolutely no chance of running ever.  I know how to do regular stretching of audio in both Audition and Premiere Pro, but apparently I can't time-remap audio using either of these programs.
So why can't Adobe Premiere Pro time remap audio along with the video?  What's the reason that it can't?  It's a massive disappointment and would be very impressive to see accomplished in the future.  If it's possible to time remap audio and video together in After Effects, that's great and all, except for the fact that I can't use that program.  Why can't it be done in Premiere Pro and will it ever be possible in Premiere Pro?
Also, will time remapping audio become possible in Audition someday?

That sounds like a great idea.  File a Feature Request:

  • Will Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 run on a 64 bit (Vista, Windows 7) OS?

I have been using my Premiere Pro 2.0 application on a Wndows XP machine for the past couple of years. It's time to upgrade may computer and enjoy the increased power and speed that should come with it. All that is available nowadays are Vista or, more commonly, Windows 7 operating systems. In order to get RAM above 3 GB, I have to get a 64 bit system. Will I have problems running my older Premiere program on these systems?

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 MKV support?

Is there any way to get Adobe Premiere to support MKV files or it simply just doesn't support it?

We invite discusions on the opportunity and would even dedicate an engineer to make this happen.
Other than for the edification of us "users," this forum would likely not be the best place to hold the discussion. Adobe presence here is very limited, if it exists at all. However, we users can always stand to be educated. We may find benefits from using MKV, or, as the poster who reopened this thread did, may find that one, or more, of our clients requests it.
Many here handle the entire workflow and in so doing, determine the delivery package to their clients. Some, however, receive material, edit it, and then hand it off to someone else. These would be the most likely candidates, but the dictate for format comes from their clients, or from the next person in the production chain.
Most of us here are always ready to learn something new. Heck, there was a time that I did not know what JPEG2000 was, not that I use it much, even today. DNG was once a new format to me. Many of the newer Video formats and CODEC's are still not part of my vernacular - yet, but then I don't encounter them away from the forum.
I've read some articles on MKV, but have yet to grasp how it could help me. I feel that others are in the same boat. Can you give an abstract, that could give us "pointers" on the benefits?
    Hunt, always curious
[Edit] As one who knows MKV, do you have any recommendations on how the poster, who re-opened this thread can best get their material into MKV format for delivery to their client? I made one rec., but it was based on suggestions in other fora and might not be the best route. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
PS in the edit of this post, it looks like I may have lost the block quoted text. If so, it should read "We invite discusions on the opportunity and would even dedicate an engineer to make this happen."
[Edit 2] Yep - block quote gone, but material still there. The first line of this post is the quote from the post to which I am replying - not my words, but another poster's. May have fixed it now. Or made it so ugly that no one will even bother with it...

  • Does Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 not support the Quadro K2000D GPU card?

I can't get the Premiere Pro CS6 to recognize that Quadro K2000D is installed on my computer.  I'm running Windows 7.  I see in the list that Quatro 2000D and Quatro K2000 is listed as supported but I haven't come across Quatro K2000D.

If your nVidia card has at least 1Gig of video ram, use the nVidia Hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557 - which is a simple entry in a "supported cards" file

  • Will Premiere Pro CS5.5 resolve the problem of editing Panasonic 1080/60p footage?

According to Adobe....the following is a CS5.5 feature:
    Native AVCHD support
Import and natively edit AVCHD content from Sony, Panasonic, and Canon cameras without transcoding or rewrapping the content. Use the Media Browser to browse clips and view metadata — including metadata from Panasonic AVCCAM cameras.
However, does this mean we can natively edit footage shot at 1080/60p on the Panasonic (TM-700, TM-900) or are we still stuck with needing to "unwrap" this footage because of Panasonic's proprietary compression system on the 60p footage?
I'd love to buy one of those camcorders but if its going to be a pain to edit in Premiere Pro...then maybe I'll wait or get some other brand that doesnt require all this hassle.
Can anyone provide some feedback?  Adobe?

Thanks. I will do that to create the sequence in Premiere.
As for burning 720p60 on Blu-Ray, it seems a shame to start with 1920x1080 clips and end up with only 1280x720 on the screen.
But you are probably right to avoid interlaced material.
But will a disk burned at 1080/60i really be interlaced since both fields will have been recorded at the same instant of time when using 1080p60 clips to start with? Especially with recent 240 Hz TV using some form of frame interpolation.
I guess one can but try and judge with his eyes.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 constantly crashes when importing video files

I have not used Premiere Pro in a while, but recently when I tried to import video files (from .m4v, .mp4 and .mov) the program stops working, the "importing" window doesn't progress and I get the rainbow wheel of "death".
I read some other posts where some are having similar situations and some users suggested moving the file from an external hard-drive to an internal one (I have a 1TB external hard-drive) but that didn't do squat either.
Once the program is frozen I'm forced to "force quit" the program.
Does anyone know what I can do?

I am having the same problems, but my program locks up when trying to playback .MTS files that are shot natively on my GH2.  It will not render or export anything & when you try and scrub or playback footage it gets the spinning wheel of death.  To finish my last project, I had to transcode all the .MTS files to .MP4 files and it worked fine.  Also, anytime I shut down PP, I have to force quit the program for it to shut down.  Here are the detailed info you asked for...
What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).Premiere Pro CC (trial) 7.1.0 - 141 (because I uninstalled CS5, 5.5, & 6 thinking they may be the problems.
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.) YES, up to date
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac”. OSX 10.9
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime”..MTS files from a GH2
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?It tells me that it is an unknown error (I do not have a copy of the original error message)
What were you doing when the problem occurred?Trying to playback (wheel of death), Trying to Render and export (starts rendering, then just sits there and then gives the unknown error)
Has this ever worked before?I have worked on this projects for a few months, then just out of the blue it started with these problems about 1 week ago.
What other software are you running?none
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?some from Video Copilot and Plural eyes 3 (NOT used on this project)
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU).
    iMac 27in Mid 2011 3.4 Intel Core i7 16 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 AMD Radeon HD6970M 2048 MB OSX 10/9 (13A603)
No external devices, except a external hard drive.  I changed from a Thunderbolt Seagate 1TB (single 7200 RPM) to a Drobo Mini 2 TB RAID 5 in the MIDDLE of this problem, thinking the issue was the drive was to slow to keep up - NOT the case… it still happens with the new drive.
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration?I am not completely sure to be honest - I believe it is the factory settings.
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?both!

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Using the Source Monitor and Program Monitor

    strJiveDescriptionhttp://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/source-monitor-program-monitor.html

Even back in the days of printed manuals, there were often sections, that repeated, as they had application to a few slightly different topics. I always found that better (then), than just having a note to "go to _____ for info on this." Probably used a few extra trees, but one did not have to constantly flip back and forth. Now that we're talking 1's and 0's, I can see where a limited bit of repetition would enhance the flow of knowledge, and understanding, even when hyper-linked.
    Just my observations,

it's work on window PC, but when i switch to Mac it's not support the WMA file.

WMA and WMV are not natively supported on Mac. You could try converting the WMA file to another format that is support on Mac (e.g.: AIFF) or look into 3rd party plug-ins for WMA support.
