Will adobe support a full 16GB of RAM on Windows 7 Home Basic

I have Windows 7 Home Basic, which supports only 8GB of RAM. I've just put in another 8GB without checking this small detail (silly me). So I have a total of 16GB RAM out of which only 8 GB is detected as usable by the OS. My question is will Adobe CC utilise the complete 16 GB of RAM or will it go by the OS spec?

Duothus you can find the system requirements for those software titles at System requirements | Creative Cloud.  Applications such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator can only benefit from additional memory being available.

Will the U430 Touch recognize 16GB of RAM?
I love this laptop with 8GB, but am a heavy user that needs lots of RAM.
Would it recognize 16GB of RAM?  e.g. I was thinking about trying this:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148646&cm_re=16GB_DDR3_PC3-12800-_-20-148-...
    Advice would be most welcome.

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to inform you that the maximum RAM/Memory that is supported up to 8GB and 16GB is not compatible with this Laptop model. Below is the image with the exact specifications of the RAM:

  • App 5.0 - when will adobe support a deployment?

Currently app 4.6 is only supported for Reader xi (11 versions).... when will Adobe support a 5.0 App-V deployment.  We are not implementing a 4.6 enviroment just for Adobe.
If they could support Adobe Acrobat too, that would be great.
When will they Support Microsoft Application Virtualization 5.0 ?

These things are not announced way ahead of time.

  • If MBP 13" 17,1 upgraded to 16GB, will Ubuntu OS use full 16GB?

I'm think of boosting my memory to 16GB on my MBP 13" 17,1 (mid-2010). I have both OSx and Ubuntu installed.
If I upgraded to 16GB (from 4GB) will Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) use the full 16GB, or will it limit itself? I need to run some computationally heavy software (Comsol) on Ubuntu and need to use max memory possible.
I have all the lastest required updates for using 16GB: OSX MountainLion 10.8.4, bootrom MBP71.0039.B0E, and smc 162f7. Please let me know if I'm missing something required for 16GB upgrade.
Thanks in Advance, I appreciate any advice given.

I cannot address the question if Unbuntu will use up to 16 GB RAM, but the only vendor that has proven 16 GB RAM compatibility for your MBP is OWC.  RAM from others MAY work but there may be a risk.  Macs are known to be very selective with RAM.
    http://blog.macsales.com/16353-owc-announces-maxram-memory-upgrades-to-16gb-for- 2010-mac-mini-macbook-and-macbook-pro
Why would Unbuntu have a limitation on RAM usage?  That I would find to be curious.
    Ciao.

  • When will Adobe support the new Canon S100 RAW format in Lightroom (& Camera RAW)?

Just bought a new Canon S100.  It generates RAW files, but Lightroom would not import it as it said it was unsupported.  Any ideas when Adobe will start supporting this new RAW format?

Got mine yesterday and discovered LR and PS didn't recognize the camera.  To make maters worse the Canon software and manuals are on the included disc.  Unfortunately my iMac wouldn't recognize the the disc.  I called Canon and they told me the camera was too new and they couldn't help me. They didn't have another disc they could send me or I couldn't download the software on line.  They told me to check back in a few weeks.  Before I hung up, the rep asked me if there was anything else he could help me with.  All I could do was laugh.

  • Will Adobe support Authorware?

One of my concerns is that Adobe has switched over
all the other Macromeidia products to the Adobe branding but not
Authorware. My concern is Authorware is going to be phased out. My
concerns are amplified by the poor support provided by Adobe of
Authorware now that the support functions ar combined. Her is my
story: I created at web issue on line. I will admit I did this
right around the transition of closing the Macromedia support. My
issue was upgrading from Authorware 6.5 to 7.0. It took three weeks
to get a responce. I was very patient. Finally it was determined I
needed to talk with a support person by phone to unlock the
software. I called the ohone number and the support person was
clearly not on US soil and we had difficulty communicating. I was
patient. I am upgrading from 6.5 to 7.0 and the upgrade box clearly
said only will upgrade from 6.5 but this person tried a 6.0 unlock
number. Then I was refrered to the "more highly trained" technical
people. I had to call again while at work and spend 2 hours on the
phone where they again kept using a 6.0 unlock number. I also was
talking to someone not on USA soil. The final conclusion was,
"sorry I can't unlock" and that I should return the software and
buy "Flash instead because it is the same software." Here I became
frustrated. I was astounuded that her was Adobe support and they
could not unlock there own software (I think because they did not
understand the difference between 6.5 and 6.0) and did not even
know there own software (Authorware is not the same as Flash).. I
did not express anger but I felt was reasonable to ask to speak to
a supervisor. A this point I was put on hold for an hour. I hung up
and called back. I did not want to be put on hold. The person was
kind and said thye would take myphone number and the supervisor
would call me back the next day. It is four days later and no one
has called me back. I do not call this good support. I guess the
only alternative is to return the software and not use Adobe
software anymore because they do not support their software.

  • When will adobe support the G700 & G500 for GPU accelerated processing?

when i bought my new mac pro trashcan mac told me that their graphics cards were supported so i plunked down my $10k and waited for a month for it to come in the mail.  I was working just fine using what seemed to be GPU acceleration, but then (as you know) it stopped working.
what's going on and when can i expect this to be resolved?  if never, then i need to switch to a pc where i can buy the cards that adobe supports!

Did you happen to have an OSX update that caused the change?

  • Will Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Function Properly on MS Windows XP  Pro x64 editionV2003 SP2

    I am running
    MS Windows XP
    Professional x64 edition
    V2003
    SP2.v4666
    Dell Precision PWS670
    Intel Xeon CPU 3.20GHz
    3.19GHz. 3.93 GB of RAM
I import SD video from Canon FS 200
Considering the hardware, software and camera I have will  "Adobe Premiere Elements 8"  allow me to export edited product to use as streaming video in Dreamweaver 8?
    Thank you.

With a Duo-core Xeon, you should be fine with SD material.
With the MOD files, this ARTICLE and its links, might prove useful. Be sure to follow all the links to other articles, and especially see the replies in those by Chris at JVC, as he knows those files intimately, and uses PrE to edit them.
As for OS, Win7 would be the way to go. It seems to have proved to be better than Vista, in almost every instance. The question is then - 32-bit, or 64-bit. Things to think about: PrE is not yet a 64-bit program, so cannot fully take advantage of a 64-bit OS. Win7-64 still seems to have some driver issues, but the people writing the drivers are catching up, and there is hope that by SP1, those will no longer be an issue. Also, one needs more RAM installed, to take advantage of a 64-bit OS, and your MoBo probably cannot take any more RAM. Also, the speed and connection of the RAM can be important, and your BIOS (and MoBo sockets), probably cannot take advantage of this newer RAM. If you are not planning on upgrading the MoBo and your RAM, then you will probably be much happier with a tuned Win7-32-bit OS. However, some programs are being released for 64-bit ONLY, like PrPro CS5. They will not run on a 32-bit OS. With the 32-bit OS, you do lock yourself out of some programs. It becomes a tough call, and only you can make it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Will a 2010 27" iMac support more than 16GB of RAM?

Recently, sticks of 8GB SO-DIMMs have been coming out (Corsair makes some, I believe). I'd like to know if putting, for example 4x8GB (or 32GB) of RAM into a 2010 iMac running Lion will work, or if some firmware limitation won't recognize the extra memory.

    Yup it will work http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/1333DDR3S32S/

  • When will Adobe support Nikon NRW file format?

    Adobe guys and ladies,
Is there any information that you can add to the dialog shown below that will help me decide if the NRW format used by the Nikon P7000 P&S will be compatible with my >> 10,000 image Lightroom collection?
    thanks,
    WK
    Customer 09/15/2010 11:13 AM
I now shoot topside and underwater (using an Ikelite housing) with a D300S. My work flow is to copy the nef files to Lightroom 3 (for Mac) as dng files for tweaking either in LR3 or occasionally in Photoshop. I'm presently considering a P&S such as the P7000 but I'm concerned that the proprietary nrw format will be a "deal killer". How do I convert nrw files to either raw, nef or dng but not tif? WK
    Response 09/15/2010 10:25 PM
HI Thanks for the question. As with any new model software to convert RAW images will have to be updated for newer models. The Microsoft WIC compatible NRW should easily be read and converted by your software once they update for the newer model. Of course for the best conversion we'd recommend using Nikon Capture NX2. Thanks -David
    Customer 09/16/2010 08:35 AM
Hi, The issue of file incompatibility is of great concern for many potential P7000 buyers. Let me ask the question a bit differently: Can the NRW format used by the P7000 camera be read directly (or converted to NEF or DNG formats) by available Mac software such as Aperture, iPhoto, Adobe Lightroom 3 or Adobe Photoshop 5? thanks, WK
    Response 09/16/2010 08:35 AM
HI Thanks for the update. I'm sorry but you'd have to ask Adobe and Apple about their plans to support the P7000 images. I'd guess based on their support for other RAW format we've produced that they would but since it is their software they would be the ones who could answer. Sorry we can't help more. -David

Of course, Nikon does its best to obfuscate their file formats...
That's a load of CR@P - please cease this continued misinformation.
Even in the earliest days when Nikon encrypted their white balance, it was decryptable via the Nikon SDK (without having to use the rendering feature as well...). Its just that Adobe wasn't using the SDK because the Nikon formats are all based on tif and as such are easy enough for Adobe to deal with without resorting to the SDK that they hadn't bothered. At that time, Thomas Knoll made some off-hand remarks that started a huge wave of misinformation that has been propagated on the internet ever since. In my opinion, he owes Nikon and the photography community an official public apology.
Nikon's purpose in controlling access to the information in NEFs was aimed at quality control, so idiots like me didn't start futzing with their camera data via plugins and fly-by-night applications and smearing Nikon's good name to people who didn't know enough not to blame things on Nikon. In the beginning, Nikon required approval before releasing their SDK to third party vendors. Now, it is available immediately to anyone willing to fill out a form on their website (and it includes complete documentation). Until you, or anybody else claiming this that or the other thing about the accessibility of information in Nikon's camera files, downloads the SDK and plays with it, to see for yourself, you don't know what you are talking about.
The fact that there was a delay between the release of the P6000 and its support in CaptureNX does not prove anything except Nikon was eager to release the camera, and followed up with changes to the SDK and/or CaptureNX after the fact.
I apologize if the tone of this post seems stern, but in my opinion, its time for the misinformation to stop, and the huge body of erroneous information on the internet to begin to be dismantled.
Note: I am not a Nikon defender. I just don't like to see people being unfair to them.

  • Will Adobe support CS4 under OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard?

Is Adobe expected to support CS4 under OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard?

I installed Photoshop CS4 after installing snow leopard. PS is crashing when saving JPG files. It is completely repeatable.
I deleted the preferences files and I got it to save the file once. The second time it started to crash again.
The file is a PSD file with several layers it is 4267x1200 pixels.
I then flatten the file and save as ....  JPG
As soon as I click on the JPG quality or OK button photoshop freezes. THIS IS REPEATABLE EVERY SINGLE TIME.
The big lie from Adobe is that they said that CS4 was certified to work with Snow Leopard, it DOES NOT.
I went and spent the $350 for the upgrade to find out that CS4 is just as unstable as CS3 (which actually can still save JPGs
but crashes usually while retouching an image with the brush tool).
My machine is a current iMac24 with plenty of free disk space and 4Gigs RAM
I ran disk tools too. no problems here either. Even if I restart and only run PS it still fails.
Adobe you have to fix this. It is completely unacceptable to tell customers to go buy CS4 and have it NOT WORK.
I have used PS for more than a decade and it has been quite good. you have concentrated on bloatware features, too frequent updates to get more money (greed) at the expense of quality.
I do not believe that you are honestly concerned about quality, just more money for overpriced upgrades.

  • Will Adobe support EncoreDVD 2.0 on an AMD system?

If you own an Adobe product, using it on a system with an AMD processor will not (and should not) ever mean a denial of support.
What it means is that Adobe will not pursue the problem if it turns out to be an AMD-specific problem with Adobe software.
All Adobe products in the Digital Video group are expected to work with AMD processors, as long as they have the SSE2 instruction set.

Updating Acrobat 5 will not install Acrobat X as updates are for that particular version only. It has to be a new installation, yes Acrobat X standard is compatible to run on Windows XP with Service Pack 3 for 32 bit or Service Pack 2 for 64 bit.

  • Installation problems - will Adobe support customers?

I am presently installing the trial version of Production Premium on a brand new 64 bit i7 acer.  I really want to buy this software but i see that lots of people are having all kinds of problems downloading their purchases or using them when they are downloaded.  Does Adobe offer enough support once people have paid the big bucks or is it basicly caveat emptor?  I can't afford to buy this package and not be able to use it.  Thanks!

  • Will Adobe support MCAD layers?

If I create a PDF from a Solid Edge *.dft file (...the "drawing"...) will the PDF include the layers?
    Same question for SolidWorks...
    Thanks.

The 3D format supported in Acrobat 3D is .u3d. This is what is used in the 3D annotation. The Acrobat 3D product converts many different 3D file types into a .u3d file on its way to becoming a 3D annotation inside of Acrobat. The .u3d spec does not support layers in the way I believe you want to use them. It may, and I'm way out on limb here because I don't really know, store or convert this layer data as some kind of metadata, but I don't think that would be useful in this sense.
