Will Air Display work on my Mac 10.5.8?

So i just downloaded Air Display in hopes of making my desktop Mac a second monitor for my Macbook Pro. The desktop is version 10.5.8 and is having troubles downloading the software. I may be doing the installation steps wrong.. I have no idea. Any suggestions?

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor; your system is a PPC Mac.

The good news is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports the PPC Mac architecture. The bad news is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

You can try the third-party product '''''TenFourFox''''' that supports PPC Macs. Firefox 8 version of '''''TenFourFox''''' is available. The product is based on Firefox released versions. All support is provided by the developer, not by this site:

Yes, all the latest Cinema displays work with the mini except for the 30".

Energy Saver, you can keep the computer awake while the screen saver shuts the monitor off but I'm not sure that would do it for you.

  • Will thunderbolt display work on mini display port?

I just purchased a new Thunderbolt 27" display and was told at the Apple Store that it would work with my 2010 Mac Pro on one of the mini display ports.  Got it home, hooked it up and.... nothing.  Connected it to my MacBook Pro (Retina) via Tbolt port and it fires up as expected.  Was I misled at the store?  I want to have the future technology at hand for upgrades coming down the road.  But I fear I'm stuck between older technology and Tbolt tech.  Any suggestions?

There is no way to make a Thunderbolt display work with a computer that does not have a Thunderbolt port.  Only the new (late 2013) version of the Mac Pro has Thunderbolt.
A Mini DisplayPort display will work with a Thunderbolt port (except the port on the back of a Thunderbolt display), but a Thunderbolt display will not work with a Mini DisplayPort.

  • Will AIR runtime work on embedded XP?

will the adobe AIR runtime work on embedded XP? anyone have
    experience with this?

It will work fine on XP. When you download it if you want to try the new Orange Firefox Button(only shown by default in Vista and 7) right click on toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar. You can toggle between the two.

  • Will this card work in 2008 Mac Pro? XFX Radeon HD 5770 850M 1GB DDR5 MINI HDMI DUAL DVI PCI-E (HD-577X-ZHL) (A)

Hi,  found, what looks like an interesting upgrade to my 2008 MacPro video.  This card works with Windows, UNIX and FreeBSD (the code from which is very much in MAc OSX)..  Anyone tried this card with success (or otherwise)?

Let's  assume you are running 10.8.3 as there is more support.
What did you have? what is your budget?
"work" can mean, there is no boot screen but once the system is loaded it does.
Will the output display ports work, it all  depends on how  close it is to the ATI reference design Apple uses.
Are you planning to flash it? there are site forums that can help recommend cards.
And if you work with CS6 and want to use Mercury Engine and have CUDA then you want nVidia GTX series.
I would see what Mac supported cards MacVidCards on ebay has.

  • Wil this Dell Display work with my mac pro ? standard graphics card

    http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs 1&sku=184923
Above is the link to the one i want! will it work? i think yes but second opinion would be nice.

It depends in part on what graphic card it is attached to. And if you have 2nd monitor.
Mac Pro 2009 + OEM GT120 + Dell doesn't always work with the MiniDisplay Ports.

  • Will FCP 7 Work with New Mac Pros?

Any indication of I will still be able to work in FCP7 on the new Mac Pro 2013? I'm not too keen on FCPX at the moment. Thanks for any info.

All true, however, FCS 2009 (aka FCS 3) does run with the current OSX (10.8.4) which is two full versions beyond the last supported one (10.6.8).
So, the real answer is, we'll have to wait and see how things play out.

  • Will Lion still work on a Mac if you unauthorize the itunes after install?

I'm more curious as far as if I ever decided to upgrade to a different Mac and want to sell the current one.  There's not a lot of obvious information out there in regards to this due to Lion currently being a digital purchase only.  Thanks to whomever can supply a valid and informative answer.

iTunes is separate from the OS - if you unauthorise it, even on your current version of OS, then the OS will still work.

  • Will Time Machine work on older Macs 8600 e.g.

I upgraded my 8600 with a G3 and IDE controller card. I want to use TM to back to the 8600 with a few 320GB hard drives installed. Will this work? I just have to keep the 8600 on and running correct? BTW: it's running OS 9.2.2 networked to my G4 with OSX Leopard.

  • Will '07 CinemaDisplay work w/new Mac mini?

if so which adaptor is required?

If it is 1920x1200 and uses DVI, then you can use the Mac Mini's HDMI port and the HDMI to DVI adapter that comes with the computer.
It may be a 23" display (measure the screen diagonally, not the case).  The 27" is more than 1920x1200 and does not use DVI.

  • Will Apple TV work if my Mac has an external hard drive?

Planning to get a big external hard drive to house all my media.
Will AppleTV be able to see my iTunes content if all the content is on the external drive?
    Thanks,
    jf

    Absolutely.
It does not matter where the media is stored so long as itunes can access it.
External USB/Firewire drives are generally fine with all but the oldest computers.
Network storage generally also works but does in effect double network traffic so if the network is already stretched speed wise this can give less than optimal performance but one rarely hears of problems in practice.

  • Moving to Europe...will Thunderbolt Display work?

Hi. I'm moving to Finland this summer and would like to take along my new-ish thunderbolt display. I have a power converter to go from 110v to 230v, but i was wondering if the 50hz vs. 60hz would cause a problem. Thanks in advance for your help.

    The display specs say:
    Input voltage: 100-240V AC; 50-60Hz
    So I would say, yes.
