Yes you can. If you have two 2003 AD servers currently and upgrade one of them to 2008 AD then they'll continue to be able to work together. The domains functional level will remain as 2003 across both servers so at this stage you won't get any benefit from
the new AD functionality available in 2008.
Once you've then upgraded the second 2003 server to 2008 you can then upgrade the functionality levels in AD to make it 2008. It's been a while, but I believe it doesn't happen automatically, so once all AD servers have been upgraded you have to go into
AD and upgrade the functionality levels yourself.

When I open Firefox, even in safe mode, it causes my Windows 7 64-bit to totally crash and I get that blue screen of death =(. This has happened suddenly on Nov 16, 2010. I had been running Firefox on Windows 7 64-bit with no problems previously. Help?

I have had Windows 7 64 bit for the past year and have run Firefox with no problem. It was the most problem free of the three browsers including IE and Chrome.
I have a Vista side where I run my online backup and did so yesterday. Went on Firefox. No Problem.
Today I booted into the Windows 7 side. Seemed to boot up okay. Until I opened Firefox. Suddenly, my whole computer crashed, windows shut down and that bluescreen popped up. I restarted normally. Same thing. I restarted in safe-mode. Couldn't find any problems. Went back to regular mode. Started FF. Boom crash.
Back to safe mode. Did a system restore. Back to regular startup. Didn't help. Attempting to open FF crahed windows.
So back to safe mode. Started Firefox. Crashed the whole computer and same blues screen.
So I uninstalled FF. Reinstalled FF. It still makes Windows crash.
So now I am on IE :P

FireFox 4 and earlier versions will not install on my Windows Vista, 64 bit computer. The file downloads and the file extracts but I never make it to the installation wizard.

I have tried to download FireFox 4 and earlier versions from several different website, thinking the files might have gotten corrupted, and each time I download the file the exact same thing happens, the file downloads and the file gets extracted but when the extraction completes the small window dissappears and nothing else happens.
My machine is a Windows Vista 64 bit system and I've tried downloading the file with my 32 and 64 bit Internet Explorer but nothing seems to work. Can someone help me please because I would love to be able to completely delete I.E.

Hi, thanks for your Flash file info. Well you must have been doing it right, since all of your Flash files for IE and FF are correct.
The SWF plugin for FF and the SWO for IE are also correct.
You shouldn't be having any problems with Flash Player.
What you can try is to turn off the hardware acceleration feature. Go to any video, like youtube and right click on the video and click on Settings. Display Settings is where you will UN check hardware acceleration.
See if that helps. Let me know.

Error installing AIR 3.3 on Windows 7 64 -bit machine

you should check your system health with SFC /scannow

Will Lightroom 5 work in Windows 7 32 bit

My friend as Windows 7 32 bit and wanted to know is Lightroom 5 in 32 bit work. In my CD I says 64bit or 32bit. If it shows 32bit should that work. I wouldn't use my CD for my friend.

ITunes 11 will not run on on windows 7 normal mode or safe mode

I am at my witts end here. I don't know what to do anymore. Let me first start off by saying I hadn't updated itunes in months so I'm sure that probably has something to do with this. Finally upgraded and now itunes won't do a **** thing. I've gone through the troubleshoot guides and done everything step by step and nothing works. I've uninstalled quicktime. I uninstalled itunes, rebooted, and reinstalled (with no quicktime) still nothing. I tried opening it while holding down shift + ctrl so it would open in safe mode and still nothing. I tried removing pref files and still nothing. Tried creating a library, still nothiing. Removed the SC file. Again nothing. I did discover one thing. I tried creating a new user and once I did that it opened up fine, so I do know that it has everything to do with my main user. I don't know what else to do. Does anyone know something I haven't tried. I'm guessing there is a file or files that are messing it up. (Oh i tried repairing too, nada there as well) I'm desperate for a solution so I can use itunes again. Help!!!

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:

and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

ITunes 10.5 will only run as Administrator, Windows 7

I have seen numerous threads on this but none of the proposed solutions work. I can get iTunes 10.5 to run, but only when using "Run as Administrator". I should not have to do that to run iTunes each and every time. I've done everything short of reinstalling Windows and I'm not going to do that as the PC runs perfectly fine except for this one issue. Without running as Adminstrator, when I go to run iTunes it just flat out refuses to run with no error message provided.
Also, with iTunes running as admin, it steals the IR remote commands "Stop" and "Skip" and blocks Windows Media Centre from being able to use those IR commands. I am guessing that part of this is because iTunes is running as admin. I've never had any of these problems with previous versions of iTunes.

I agree. I am having the same issue.
Stop, Skip forward and Skip backwards buttons appear to be stopped until I kill itunes.
Other issue is that itunes keeps re-spawning due to the recent changes to wifi sync. Had to kill the itunes helper service to stop this re-opening.
I have noticiced that it is particularly bad when itunes throws an error (unable to sync) and that then it captures the input destined for Windows Media Centre (Windows 7 on a Home Theatre PC)

Interesting question. I don't personally think it will run smoothly (if it runs), during the last year dealing with different Android devices I found huge problems due to differences from device to device. Unlike other platforms, when we think in Android, we think about it as an operating system itself rather than as an especific device. Android is facing a similar problem Microsoft did on early 90s, there are people making devices in any garage in china running Android, where it crashes all the time!
It will be good to see how many units sold will reach that $35 tablet... so people could allocate some resources for making things run properly on that device.

Trying to upgrade to V.8, cannot open Firefox. Have uninstalled, loaded 8 again then 7 , 9 and finally 6. The program will not run. Operating Windows 7. When I try to uninstall, I am asked to 'close Firefox' but it isn't open ( Task Manager confirms).

Firefox 8 won't open. The Windows 'wheel' which indicates a program is opening spins for about 5 seconds and then stops and nothing happens. I have spent several hours uninstalling and then loading different versions but still the same thing happens. I frequently switch off and restart the computer but nothing happens. I have changed the Windows firewall to allow Firefox, again nothing happens.

In the task manager, are you looking at Processes? That is where you find Firefox listed when you see no interface, not in Applications.

This is extremely frustrating so if you can give me a tip on how to proceed that would be highly appreciated. Windows 98 was out well before Java was.No, Windows 95 was released around the time Java was. Windows 95 was released in the later part of 1995, and I bought Java in a Nutshell and wrote my first Java program in May 1996. If there were Java books available, Java must have been publicly available for at least a few months before they were published!
