It will work fine on XP. When you download it if you want to try the new Orange Firefox Button(only shown by default in Vista and 7) right click on toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar. You can toggle between the two.

This question is asked as a follow up from a recent discussion, http://forums.adobe.com/message/6260447#6260447, regarding how getObjectsUnderPoint() works. The discussion was marked as correct as the answer provided by kglad was correct for the question asked.
But, the problem that led to that thread was not solved, as from the tests done, the issue was not from the method but from the runtimes. With the sample code given by kglad, the compiled swf file was working as intended by kglad. But the same code was not if compiled and packaged to AIR runtime.
Thus the question, do Flash Player runtime and AIR runtime work differently? Or again, that I simply missed out something?

I'm also using Safari 6.0.1 and I don't have this problem, so I doubt Safari's causing the problem.
Have you tried uninstalling flash completely and then reinstall? If you haven't, here's Adobe's instructions on how to do so: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

Hello.
I found the following information in the Adobe forum, but was not able to find useful information.
In my expectations, I believe in the Windows Embedded Enterprise series (example:Windows 7 pro for embedded system),
because there is fully compatible with the desktop OS, AIR also work.
Am I wrong?

Will Air Display work on my Mac 10.5.8?

So i just downloaded Air Display in hopes of making my desktop Mac a second monitor for my Macbook Pro. The desktop is version 10.5.8 and is having troubles downloading the software. I may be doing the installation steps wrong.. I have no idea. Any suggestions?

CS6: AIR(runtime embedded) creates a lot of files instead of one exe file

I want to package all necessary sources for my application in one exe file (windows 7 system).
In Flash Professional CS6 I choosed: File->Public Settings
Target: AIR 3.4 for Desktop
AIR Settings: Output as: Application with runtime embedded
Window style: Syste Chrome
Render mode: Auto
Profiles Desktop / Extended Desktop
Then I pressed publish. I got the message "Application with runtime embedded has been created".
What I want: One exe file without dependence to other files/directories
What I got is a directory structure like this:
Untitled-1.app
Adobe AIR
META-INF
mimetype
Untitled-1.exe
Untitled-1.swf
In that directory my Untitled-1.exe starts without problems.
But if I copy the exe (and ONLY the exe) to another directory
and try to start it I get the message that AIR wasn't found.
So my assumption was right that not all necassary files were packaged.
How can I package all necassary files/directories in one exe?

This is a windows -OS limitation. The embedded application .app package created on Win will appear as Folder directory.
Untitled-1.app
Adobe AIR
META-INF
mimetype
Untitled-1.exe
Untitled-1.swf
If you look, Adobe AIR contains the AIR runtime needed to run the .exe application. Hence, you would need to copy the entire content of the Untitled.app folder on Win.

Just responded to this in another thread (note we used Captivate 7 so it might be a different error).
We found that when we created files with embedded swf files that existed ABOVE widgets in the timeline, when someone else tried to open our file it broke/we got the runtime error. The original person could still open it for a time, but eventually the cache would clear and they couldn't.
However, if we ensured swf files are BELOW widgets in the source files, it didn't break. In fact, if we found one that was breaking and got the author to move the swf file on the timeline, it would start working for others.

When I deploy the application as a standalone Windows application, would CF have to be installed on the target PCs, or is the AIR runtime able to use the services (the CFC files) that were created with ColdFusion?
If the answer is that CF would have to be installed, I would have to create the services in something other than CF. If that's the case, what would you suggest that I use to create the services? I would be looking for something with the smallest possible footprint that will work on truly standalone PCs.

will AIR ac power cord work for Mac Book Pro? I've lost my MBP cord.

No. It does not provide sufficient power for a MBP unless you have a 13" model that uses a 60 watt adaptor.

AIR runtime will not install

I must be missing something simple....
I cannot get the AIR runtime to install on a 17" G4 iMac,
1ghz processor, 768 RAM. I click on the installer application and
nothing happens.
Has anyone else had this problem or can they shed some light
on what might be going wrong?

Hello, sorry to intervene in this thread, but couldn't figure
out how to start a new one..!
I'm running OS X 10.4.11. I've uninstalled all previous
versions of AIR, searched the system for any files with the letters
"AIR" in them and deleted anything that could have been related.
emptied the trash. rebooted. downloaded the current version of AIR,
and it still crashes.

Seamless Install not working for installing Air runtime

hi - is anyone else having this problem today? it was working perfectly for me yesterday but no joy today. The air.swf is still loading in correctly and works fine if you already have the Air runtime installed. But once it tries to install the runtime, you get "A download error occurred. Try to download again?" I've checked it on a couple of different air app sites and its not working anywhere. Anyone else experiencing this or have any suggestions about how to fix it? Thanks
