Will all my music be deleted if I remove itunes from my computer?

I had problems with an Ipod shuffle, so I took it back. But before I did my itunes started acting up. Now some of my songs and playlists dissapeared, but they are all in my music folder. Now I can't burn any cds and I have double files of itunes and music. Will all my music delete if I remove itunes completely and reinstall it again? Please advise anyone.

I'm not sure if this will help you any, but i had my itunes deleted from my computer the other day. When i re-installed it (about 30 mins ago) and plugged in my i-pod my library loaded, no problems.
I suppose so long as your music is saved to the hard-drive deleting the program that plays it and re-installing it shouldnt be a problem.

Did you restore the iPod on this computer?
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?

iTunes thinks you have a new computer because you restored the OS. Open iTunes and authorize it to the same account you have on the iPhone. Did you restore your iTunes content from a backup after resetting your computer? Have you been syncing regularly with the computer, and does the iTunes library on the computer contain your apps, music and videos? If so just sync and your content will be removed then restored.
If you have not hopefully you have now learned something. You can recover apps and purchased songs by connecting the phone, without syncing, and choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu.

  • When i go to sycn my ipod, it says that it cannot sync due to a missing file. Is there a way to remove itunes from my computer and redownload it without losing all of my stuff?

Can I remove Itunes from my computer totallty abnd reinstall it without losing my media?

Do a backup of your iTunes library files first to a external hardisk. (ie all your music files)
Go to this Apple download for iTunes 9.2.1,
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056
You just need to download and re-install.
If your iTunes is earlier than 9 series, the library folder location need to be changed.
or let me know your iTunes version and I sent you the website
I wouldn't recommend the Latest iTunes 10.5.2, if you are not using iPod Classic 160GB late 2009 version.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Hello danieljoseph57
Nothing, iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and aren't deleted by removing iTunes. Though it is a good idea to back up your iTunes files before any troubleshooting.

  • Every time I try to install the latest version of Firefox I get a message saying to close all programs using it. I have removed it from my computer I think.

I Want to use Firefox, but if I can't get it to install it's no good to me.

    Hi,
Please check if '''firefox.exe''' is present in the '''Processes''' tab of the '''Task Manager''' ('''Ctrl''' + '''Shift''' + '''Esc'''), right-click on it and '''End Process'''. If it is not present, you may have to delete the '''parent.lock''' file in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder Firefox Profile Folder]. Type '''%appdata%''' in the Windows Start menu '''Run''' box and open the '''Mozilla''' folder.
You can also try to uninstall the previous version via Windows Control Panel > '''Add/Remove Programs''' and do a fresh install. Please do take a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20your%20information?s=backup&r=1&e=sph&as=s backup] of the important data.

Will all my pictures get deleted aswell? My phone is not working for some reason, when i was downloading ios6.1 it crashed or something. PLEASE HELP!!

Purchased iTunes content can be re-downloaded:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
Any photos in your camera roll, not previously imported to your computer, you will lose. You should be regularly importing these photos, as the iPhone's camera roll is not designed as a storage device.
Had you been regularly syncing/backing up, you wouldn't lose anything. Now you know, don't backup your data, and you will eventually lose it all, guaranteed.

  • TS1567 If i uninstall AMDS, iTunes and all Apple softwares, will all the music i currently have in itunes delete.., or will it download itself back into the new itunes?

If i uninstall AMDS, iTunes and all Apple softwares, will all the music i currently have in iTunes delete.., or will it download itself back into the new iTunes?

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall does not touch your content. That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a backup in case of disasters.

Your media should be safe, though you should backup routinely anyway.

When I upgrade to IOS5 will all my songs get deleted?

Greenz has a good point.  It seems Apple does not, nor has ever had a decent solution for users that have ever had a hardcopy CD they didn't get from iTunes.  It always keeps just what was purchased from Apple and tries it's best to trash everything else unless you go through a twelve step process to as one contributor posted above, "protect yourself from yourself".
Why in the world would I need to do that...they've been in the game for too long for this unacceptable nonesense time and again.  I am not trying to harm myself--I would keep my music if up to me .  Please help to find a real and permanent fix.
I did not steal my music like some do so I would appreciate Apple not losing it.

  • If I reset or restore my iPod touch will all my apps be deleted? If so how do i get the bought one back ???

If i reset or restore my iPod touch will all my apps be deleted? If so what about the bought ones ?

    - A reset does not delete any media (apps, music etc) from the iPod.
    - A restore will delete apps, music and other media from the iPod.  If the media is in the iTunes library then a restore from backp will restore the media and after a restore to factory defaults/new iPod you can sync the media back to the iPod.
    - If not in the iTunes libray, you can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
