Will all the music and apps on my laptop download onto my new iPhone when I plug it in?

So my old iPhone 4 quit working, and now I have a new iPhone 4s. I have a lot of apps and music from my old phone on my laptop. Will all of that transfer onto my new phone, or is there a way to prevent that?

I had toclear the hard drive of my computer and reinstall Windows 7. Now I want to transfer all the music and photos from my iPad back onto my computer. What is going on?

Hello, thank you for your prompt answer. I did have an idea that Home sharing might be the answer but could not quite figure out how to do it. I have enabled home sharing in my iTunes account, put in username and password, clicked on creat etc. But the homs sharing icon doew not appear in the left side of iTunes. So I got stuck. Any further ideas?

Yes, with the credentials of the account that the media/content was purchased with.
Content is permanently tied to the account it is purchased with and cannot be merged, moved, or transferred to another account.

Yes, the Mac can read NTFS drives, but not write to them.
If you have the drive formatted FAT or exFAt then the Mac can read and write to it. But before formatting, remove the data as it's erased, and format it on the PC as it's easier. Right click on Windows and Format.

Moving your personal data via the external drive is likley the best option, there are other methods like Migration, but they are problematic and take a long time, a drive is simple, fast and direct.

I just got a new macbook pro and got a new account to go with it. Now i have tried to homeshare the accounts and drag the music over to download it onto this new account but i can't get the homesharing to work because it says the password doesn't match even though i have used the same one to log on and off of homesharing on my mom's account. I have recently tried to back up my phone onto this new account and it asks if i want to authorize it and asks for the password for my mom's account. I have the password but i am hesitant to authorize it with my mom's apple ID and password because i don't want her account to be on this computer. That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation. A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number. I suggest you turn iMessage off. In settings/phone turn on dial assist. Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage. Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

If you haven't done a backup of your phone as suggested by the link, then your pics are gone. If you do have a backup then you can restore to it.

It won't unless a problem occurs. Back them up, uninstall iTunes and all related components, and reinstall them.

Are you sure you have iTunes set up to synch to your new iPod? The reason I ask is that by default, iTunes will not automatically synch to a new device. You have to go to the Apps tab and click Synch Apps, and do the same for Music, PodCasts, and so on....

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.
