Will all the partitions be deleted if I restore my mac

I bought my Macbook Pro preinstalled with Lion (10.7). I've later uograded to 10.8. Now due to some problems I want to restore my Mac using the recovery tool. But before that I've partitioned  my hard disk and copied my files to these partitions. If I restore my Mac will the files on all these partitions be deleted or just the files in the partition in which OS X exists are deleted? Moreover after partition will I be left with 10.8 or 10.7?

No, nothing will be deleted except the partition you install on.
EDIT: But never do anything w/o a backup.
