Will an Airplay device need an update to support iOS5 Mirroring ?

We are shopping for a home theater receiver which supports Airplay, and we found out the Pioneer VSX-1021 seems to be a good one.
I know it will work well right now with iPad2 through Airplay, but I like to know after iOS5 is released and "mirroring" is included in AirPlay, will there be any update required on the recevier side ?
As far as I understand, an Airplay device is just a monitor and speaker to an iDevice, if it works now for video / song / pictures, it sould work in the future if the iDevice is allowed to output more contents, or am I wrong in that assumption ?

The iOS 5 mirroring feature essentially 'mirrors' what is on your iPad to your TV screen. If you opened an app on your iPad 2 with Mirroring enabled, it will appear on the TV. To utilize this feature, you must have an Apple TV. An Apple TV is a way to rent movies, view Netflix, browse Youtube, play music and video from your iPad or computer, and other things.
In a way, the Apple TV is the same thing as your Home Theatre system, for 1/5 of the price. However, I recommend waiting until September/Fall when iOS 5 is officially released and is out of beta to buy an Apple TV, due to the possibility of Apple releasing a new model.

You'll need to connect the iPad to a computer running iTunes. Then update through that.

Is MUSE going to stay a basic tool or will it get some needed advanced updates?

As a web developer I figured I would try MUSE to maybe speed up development. Well in a nutshell, so far muse is basic and for those out there that do not know code and want to create(not develope) a basic site (and I mean basic), this is your tool. MUSE should be able to export to all other adobe programmes to help with a better work flow and edit code or other file types. I find the widgets helpful but very limited, plus there is not many of them to choose from. MUSE has options for mobile devices layout, which I found useless because it should take the desktop site created and convert it to a mobile version without going through and pretty much redesigning for mobile. Also I could not find any widgets that would help in mobile creation such as mobile menus and everything else to do with mobile. Not having the ability to have a fluid/responsive design is another major downfall considering most people ask for fluid/responsive designs. Between downloading, installing, updating and using the program to develope a site, I can honestly say I wasted a couple hours of my time which I had to just go back to good ole' Dreamweaver so I can add code when needed and do everything that needs to be done to get a proper dynamic site up and operational. I hope Adobe kicks it up a knotch and makes this a better more functional product to help with workflow, I can see where there could be a place for this in the Adobe line-up. I still think MUSE should be an extension within Dreamweaver.... why keep making multiple programs when you can put all that horsepower under one hood and that goes for a few of the other programs as well. I would like the ability to design a site in MUSE throw it into DREAMWEAVER to do some coding then if needed throw it back over to MUSE to edit if needed. As for now not happening .... and I also think the contact form is useless, what if I want to us my own host and not business catalyst?
Conclusion: As for now, MUSE will be shelved until ADOBE makes it a more viable tool for advanced users... I was excited about this new tool to help speed up workflow until I actually used it and found it really has no power at all...... YET! (Staying optimistic ).
WIX has more power and thats free! Just saying for you newbies.
So will this stay a basic tool or is it going to get some advanced updates to help speed up some workflow for the more seasoned users?

Will the Linux GPIB driver be updated to support PCMCIA cards?

Kernel 2.4 appears to fully support PCMCIA. Will the NI Linux GPIB driver be updated in the near future? If not, I am considering the INES GPIB card.

Right now there are no plans to add PCMCIA support to the Linux GPIB driver software, which currently supports AT-GPIB/TNT, PCI-GPIB, and GPIB-ENET/100 products. Adding this support will depend on the scope of demand for it.

Will Lightroom 4 get updated with support for Canon 7D Mark II Raw Files?

I received an update for Photoshop to support Canon 7D Mark II raw files (ACR 8.7), will Lightroom 4.4 get an update to support these files?

I don't know why you feel it makes things more complex. All you need to do is use the DNG converter as your download software. The conversion takes place during the download, and then you can import directly into Lightroom. I'm not trying to sell you on using DNG. But it isn't as cumbersome as it seems.
Since Lightroom doesn't utilize the Camera Raw plug-in, it makes it more difficult to provide updates. In Lightroom update means distributing a whole new Lightroom program.

Z87-GD65 - Need help updating BIOS, might've bricked

I recently tried to flash/update my motherboard and I think I might've bricked it. Could somebody confirm and tell me what I should do?
I have the MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard with an Intel i5 4690k.
My BIOS was an older version and I needed to update to support Haswell refresh. This is what happened:
I downloaded the latest BIOS update from the MSI website, extracted the files to a USB. I plugged that in and updated the BIOS through the MFLASH feature in the MSI BIOS. I updated the MSI BIOS & ME with the USB and I think the updating got to around 30-40% before the screen went black then after a little bit I got back to the BIOS menu. I checked the version and confirmed that the BIOS was updated to the latest version.
Thereafter I restarted my computer a few times and noticed that it took a little longer for the system to get to the prompt to enter "DEL" to get to BIOS compared to the first time when I booted my computer. Everything else seemed fine so I went ahead and turned off the computer again and removed the USB and replaced it with another USB to install Windows. Then as the computer booted I see an screen that shows the BIOS and ME is updating from 30%-100% then my screen went black. Now when I turn on the computer it remains black but the system powers on/fans work.
I looked up several sources to make sure I was flashing the MOBO correctly and I followed all the directions I found through MSI.

Also I think my motherboard comes with a back-up BIOS. Is that a viable option to switch to? Are there any difference, how does it work? Also would resetting the CMOS do anything? I've been trying to figure out how I can fix the problem without having to RMA but was hoping to get some more knowledgeable advice before doing anything.

Yes, you switch to the bad bios WITHOUT restarting or turning off while the machine is running.

Right. What comes with the bios is the ME firmware (hardware level) but in Windows you also need to install the driver (software level). Therefor you install the driver linked after all went fine and you are back in Windows.

Go to www.ecamm.com and d/l PhoneView.
To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place.
With PhoneView you can take the content from the device to the iTunes library.

Since I updated to the new OS7, none of my devices will sync to Itunes...iTunes states I need to update to version 11.1 and yet I am totally up to date to IO7.02 on all these devices (iPad, iPadMini, iPhone5). What is the solution to this?

That message is telling you to update iTunes on your computer, not your phone. You need iTunes 11.1 on your computer in order to sync your devices.

If the thief enabled activation lock on the device, then there is nothing that can be done. Only the password for the Apple ID that it is locked with can disable activation lock.

When in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I've update iOS devices to 8.0 and now need to update xCode, but keep getting "unknown error -50" leaving me with a non-working internet connection - the only fix seems to be reboot of both iMac and router - any ideas?

Anyone else having a similar problem and different ideas as to fixing it?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I need to update my iPod software, but I don't want to if I'm going to loose all my music. I don't have any of the songs on my iTunes on my laptop because my laptop is new. I don't sync my ipod to my laptop for that reason.

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup. The iPod will be updated too.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...
