Will an iPhone bought in india work in other countries (UAE)?

i had bought an iphone 4 last month in India and now I am planning to go to Dubai (UAE). so do i have to get it unlocked ? If yes, then where can it be done, Apple service centres??

It should work and be unlocked, however if you bought it alongside a connection already ther in the pack, say vodafone or airtel, then you need to get it unlocked. You may try checking it by inserting some other carrier's sim and see.

    In a word, no.
    Refer to my previous post.
With France being the only exception that I'm aware of, the iPhone is being sold in each country as carrier locked with the associated provider.

Will an iPhone bought in America work in Ireland

No, there are plenty of places to get it HACKED.
THE ONLY OFFICIAL AND PERMANENT WAY TO UNLOCK A CARRIER LOCKED IPHONE IS TO REQUEST THE UNLOCK THROUGH THE CARRIER IT IS LOCKED TO.
That's it, the only way.  Any other way involves means not officially sanctioned by Apple (nor the carriers officially selling iPhones), will void your warranty, risks permanently damaging your iPhone, and it will revert back to locked whenever you try to upgrade the firmware later on.

  • Will an iPhone bought in Jordan work in Italy?

Hi, I'd like to buy an iphone here in jordan as I'm here for holiday, but I live in Italy..can I use it there? Will it work in Italy?

As a rule of thumb guide you should buy Apple equipment in the country you generally reside in.   It will work in other countries but the phone companies do not all have agreements and equipment may be tied to, say AT&T, for example.
And of course iTunes and the App store requires you to be resident in the country you are paying the bills from.

  • IPhone 4S (contract-bound) working in other countries

    Hi
I wanted to know if my ATT contract bound iPhone 4S will work in other countries like France and India where a SIM-card is used as someone told me that my iPhone is unlocked as long as I'm using ATT. If that is correct, is there any way to use/unlock my phone without paying additional charges in the respective countries.
    Thanks

The iphone is locked to AT&T and cannot be used with a SIM card from any other provider.
You would have to pay for an international roaming plan from AT&T.

No the iphone bought in South Korea is locked to KTF "Show" and can not be unlocked.
    Vice Versa
iphone bought in U.S.A can't be unlocked to be used with KTF in Korea. However, I have talked to my uncle, and he told me that there is a way that you can, but they will have to check the frequency and that they can do it and have it work both ways. However, they will have to charge you for them to do it.

  • IPhone bought in US - use in other countries?

So suppose I buy a 2.0 iPhone in the US. And go to England with it. iPhone is suppose to be live in London - but will my US-bought iPhone be able to access the British service?
If that answer is NO (like I suspect) there is there any (legal) way I can swap in a different SIM card for the iPhone that would connect to the British carrier?
Of am I just stuck and if I want to use an iPhone in London, I have to buy a British iPhone. If this is the answer... its not too palatable from my viewpoint.
    ---jon---

Funny but that's exactly my question... I travel a lot, to France and England. I would like an unlocked phone so that I can use their simm cards and get cheaper rates. Except with a phone bought in the US you are tied to them and I suppose this is good business for them as they charge roaming fees and calls cost 99c a minute!!!!! In Europe, and in-fact the rest of the world, no one buys a locked phone!!!
So why wont people just buy un-locked i-phones, and use them here with at&t and not be trapped into 2 year contracts......Any thoughts on what I am saying.......

  • Moving to Australia. Will my iphone be able to work there for an Australian provider?

moving to Australia. Will my iphone be able to work there for an Australian provider?

Your iPhone will work there even if you keep your current US carrier.  However, you'll get hit with the high international charges.
If you want a local carrier you have to have an unlocked iPhone.  If you do not have one they are easy to busy as the Aussie's require an unlocked option on mobiles unlike the US.
One word of advice.  If you plan on getting a land line in your home or cable TV.  Look to the same carrier for both your iPhone and land line.  Aussie mobile charges are different than what you are use to in the states.  You will have to a lot of reading between Aussie carriers to see which plan you want.  Getting the wrong plan can be costly.
All Aussie carriers that offer land lines do not charge if you are calling someone with the same carrier.  If you have OPTUS then anyone with OPTUS means no charge, it's free except if you have the wrong text message plan.  Call from OPTUS to Virgin and you'll get hit with charges.
    Confusing I know.

umm, sure, a Mac bought anywhere will certainly work anywhere else.  Even the power supply is a universal one, although you will need plug adapters to actually fit the UK wall sockets.

There are many people using the basic (i5) 2012 MacMini and even older ones to edit complex films in FCP X so you should have no problems.
I have been using FCP 7 and FCP X since they came out on my 2008 iMac Core 2 Duo and am thinking of getting the same model as you rather than pay the astronomic price for a new 27" iMac.
The performance won't be quite as fast but it will be at least 4 times faster at rendering than my old iMac.

  • Can i use the iphone 4 that i bought in th UK in other countries??

i recently bought an Iphone 4 from Apple store. i was just wondering whether i can use this phone permanently in my country(Brunei Darussalam). Will there be any problem with the network or internet settings??
    Anyone can answer me this??
    thanks a lot!~

If you bought a unlocked Iphone 4 from apple (in the UK) then yes. you can use the phone in other countries and use the countries sim cards if they compatible with the iphone 4.
If you bought from o2, vodafone and so on. then you will have to use those sims in the other countries.
also your warranty is only valid in the country where you bought the phone.(not 100% sure on this tho. just what i have heard)
if i am wrong on this please correct me.

  • If i buy an iphone 6 without contract from the US, would it work in other countries with non-US carriers?

if i buy an iphone 6 without contract from the US, would it work in other countries with non-US carriers?

Contract free versus SIM free are different. What you want to do is to wait for Apple to sell the SIM free version of the iPhone 6. See this explanation from the Apple 5S page that details this...
If you buy iPhone for T-Mobile, it will arrive with a nano-SIM card already installed that you can activate by visiting an Apple Retail Store or a T-Mobile store or by calling T-Mobile. If you buy a SIM-free iPhone, you will need to purchase a GSM-compatible nano-SIM card separately. In the United States, you can purchase such a SIM from AT&T or T-Mobile. When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5s from a local GSM carrier.
Also be aware warranty service is country specific. So if you buy a phone in the US and it develops problems you would need to return it for service in the US...
