Will an iPod Touch read bar codes?

just wanted to know if an iPod Touch gen 4 can read bar codes. I have an app that requires QR reading, and my iPhone does it just fine. Thanks for the info!

There are barcode reader apps in the App store that say theu witj with the 4G iPd.  One is Scandit

    Chances are the 2g itouch will not be included in the update. Also no one yet knows if it will be fixed in the next firmware but apple has said they know of this bug.

    I doubt it.
    All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory. The 4G only has 256 MB
    iOS 6.1.4 was only for the iphone 5 to correct a problem on that device only.

    6.1.3: latest version of iOS 6 for all devices (except iPhone 5)
    6.1.4  latest version of iOS 6 for the iPhone 5
    After that Apple released the beta of iOS 7 and then the final (7.0)
    I wouldn't expect anything.

    Apple has not announced any new iPod models, and until they do none of us here, who are all fellow users, will have any idea. In the past, any new models of the iPod touch were announced in the fall, but whether Apple will continue this pattern or indeed if they have plans for any future new iPod touch models at all is unknown. We'll just have to wait and see.
