Will Aperture "do" iCloud PhotoStream?

I know iPhoto will work with iCloud PhotoStream. Will Aperture?

Now stated on the iCloud page. And the Aperture website shows a banner: "Works with iCloud"
http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/photo-stream.html
http://www.apple.com/aperture/
"Keeping a complete set of your photos on your Mac is as simple as turning on Photo Stream in iPhoto or Aperture."
"iCloud automatically pushes a copy of that photo over any available Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection to the Photos app on your iOS devices, iPhoto or Aperture on your Mac, and the Pictures Library on your PC."
in addition to that I'm guessing it to adopt Aperture's preference settings of the preview tab, since the previews will not be as demanding on your (and iCloud's) network

  • How can I change the viewer settings when I publish an Aperture gallery to my iCloud Photostream ?.

I used to rely on MobileMe to share photo galleries with clients and it worked great, but now with the iCloud, I can create a public album on my iCloud - PhotoStream (that does not need an Apple ID to access) but it seems to be limited to just an asymetrical mosaic viewer interface that does not offer any titles or original exposure titles. One,- it looks more like an artsy vacation photo gallery than something a client could easily compare similar photos and Two , there are no identifiers that the client could use to relate his or her photo choice. It would also be helpful to add notes which I beleive is only possible on a non-public album. I would appreciate any tips,  thank you

    Don't know about Aperture, but...
If you're adding the photos from iPhoto on your Mac put the photos in an album and arrange them in the order you want. Use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Set: Date menu option to give all of the photos the same date but with a 1 minute interval.
Add them to the Photo Stream and they should remain in the order you want.

  • Can I share my iCloud Photostream with someone else with a different Apple ID? How?

Can I share my iCloud Photostream with someone else with a different Apple ID? How?

    Yeah no kidding.
I have a big paid up MobileMe account with tons of gallery stuff - this will all go away for me in July, and I'll miss it - it took no learning to use, and it was built into everything - just intuitive to post to a gallery password protect it, and send a link to a friend.  Click click done!
It bothers me a lot when features I really enjoy and use are pulled in these half baked new apps and services.
iMovie used to be quite good, but the new one is very restrictive - it's a step backwards in some ways.
MobileMe was fine, but iCloud takes away the Gallery???? - another step backward.
We use some iPhones at work for shooting some videos and technical engineering photo's, and while it's pretty cool that the iPhone photo's get put on the photostream of "Jason's iMac", I don't have instant access, and I would really like to be able to do that. If it could be done, then I can stay at home and work sometimes and I can get the photo's automagically.
    Apple - please fix this.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

  • Aperture and iCloud storage

Any idea how I can up,oad images from an Aperture library to iCloud storage? So far I've managed to get some photos to transfer by selecting jPegs and then dragging to the iCloud window. But, apart from being incredibly slow, all I get is a few (up to 20 out of 97) photos transferred. They aren't in any particular order (i.e. not consecutive and not starting with the first image in the set) and it's different images each time I try.
    THanks
    B

    You're welcome!
It is not yet possible to store a photo library in iCloud. You can share photos (My Photo Steam or shared abums), but trying to put your aperture Library on iCloud Drive will damage it.
iCloud Drib´ve is very different from other cloud storage and that may be confusing. It is not an external storage, and it is not a backup medium.
    See:  iCloud Drive FAQ
It is meant as a central storage to keep all files updated across all devices. The recent problem with the iCloud servers may have contributed to your problem:   Apple - Support - System Status

Photostream Issue - I have had several phones over the years all backing up via iCloud/Photostream. It seems that the oldest of my photos and videos are simply gone and I cannot seem to figure out how to get access to them. Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do to get them back? I'm freaked out by the thought that I am paying for what I thought was a safe place for my photos to be stored and accessed later but now see that there are nearly 500 pictures/videos gone from my photostream folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Michael

    Hi newmarket,
Photo Stream is not a respository for archiving photos. It is a cloud storage device that will store the last month or last 1000 photos taken by any device on the same Apple ID, and then will "share" those photos with all other devices that have Photo Stream turned on,and that are logged onto the same Apple ID.
iCloud backups will contain all of the photos that were on your camera roll the last time you backed up your device.
If you have photos outside of the Photo Stream parameters, and they are not all on your current camera roll, then you have no way to retrieve them unless you have imported them to the computer you sync with or have uploaded them to some other cloud service like DropBox.
    Sorry,

  • ICloud Photostream Mac vs PC

So, in setting up iCloud Photostream synchronization on my Mac and PC, Mac requires iPhoto to sync.  My ultimate goal is to auto-download the pictures that I take on my iPhone without intervention.  On the PC, my photos automatically download to a folder of my choosing.  However, on my Mac the photos will not synchronize unless I open iPhoto.  Is there a work around (or setting that I'm overlooking) to auto-download my photos into iPhoto without opening the application everytime?
    Thanks

    Thanks, Winston.
The PC iCloud application runs as a service in the system tray and either downloads the pictures at an interval or at start up.  This would be preferred functionality through Mac as well.  I find it shocking that Apple would not allow some sort of scheduled download for PhotoStream.
Here is the link that explains the applications and setup I am running...

    What do you think?

  • Aperture and icloud

I am an Aperture user and realize that MobileMe and related galleries will go away soon. I've learned that journals publised via my iPad/iPhoto will publish in iCloud, much like galleries currently publish via MobileMe. Is there a way to publish in iCloud through Aperture. My SmugMug account is expiring and I prefer to go the iCloud/Aperture route for sharing journals, but can't duplicate the process I discovered with iPad/iPhoto. Any guidance or suggestions is appreciated.
    Wm.

    Roger,
Thank you fr the clarification. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations re how to handle gallery sharing going forward?  Again, I am just trying to determine if there is an Apple solution before renewing my SmugMug subscription.
    Thanks.
    Wm.

  • HT201317 where can I find my iCloud photostream online?

where can I find my iCloud photostream online?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Unfortunately, you can only see online the photos sent with Shared Photo Stream to other contacts, from http://www.icloud.com
Respecting to Photo Stream, you can't see them on http://www.icloud.com. To access to your Photo Stream photos, you need an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 5 or later; a Mac with iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3, and OS X 10.7.2 or later; or a PC with iCloud Control Panel installed

  • When will aperture 3.4.5 be updated?

Does anyone have an inking as to when will Aperture 3.4.5 be updated?

Only Apple knows, sorry. We don't know this in an User-to-User forum, and if knew, we would not be allowed to post it here.
But but since the IOS versions have added features that are incompatible with the current versions of IOS 7.0.2, at least incremental updates will be necessary for Aperture and iPhoto, to make the iCloud features work, that have been announced on Apple's iPhone 5S pages.

iCloud does not provide website hosting: you will need to find another hosting service - there are plenty to choose from.

  • How can i use one iCloud Photostream on 2 devices?

Due to a bug (or feature) on iOS 8 i can't use the same icloud id on 2 iphones:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6536998
So how can i use ONE iCloud Photostream then on 2 devices?
Also, on OSX i can define only one Photostream.
So, how do you import pictures from 2 streams into iPhoto?
Familyshare is not usefull as the pictures are not in Original-Filesize!

    Hi ..
Yes. " iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.  iPad Air 2  or  iPad mini 3"
Set up and use Apple Pay

  • HT201317 My photos are syncing from my iPhone, to the iCloud PhotoStream and to our iPad, but it is no longer syncing to my computer (Microsoft, not Apple).   Why would this happen and how can I get it resolved?

My photos are syncing from my iPhone to the iCloud PhotoStream and to our iPad, but they are no longer syncing to our home computer (Microsoft operating system, not Apple).   Why would this happen and how can I get it resolved?  I have since tried to remove and reinstall the iCloud application in my computer's control panel.  I have verified that I am using the latest Apple operating system and the latest iTunes.  I have reset my photo stream.  Not sure what else to try...   I was also having an issue with my calendar where it would sync from my computer to my iPhone but not vice versa.  Somehow in all the resetting that's resolved, but the photo issue is not.   Again - photos are going into the photostream, but not wirelessly being put into the file on my computer.

To change the iCloud ID on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

Post the exact error message, word for word.
    A screenshot would be best.
