Will App Server 7 SE apps migrate to App Server 7 EE?

Will applications built on App Server 7SE or other platforms be
migrateable to AS 7EE and take full advantage of HA capabilities?

App Server 7SE and EE are fully J2EE compatible, thus migration is
seamless. With regard to HA, App Server 7EE provides HA of HTTP Session,
one needs to further examine the detail J2EE components used by the
application and the deployment topology to assure high availability.

Will app store approve an app to load external swf containing actionscript code in it?

Hi...It is not in the application bundle...it will be hosted on a server and from there it will be loaded in the application. I had created one sample application where it is loading a swf which is hosted on different server. This swf contained some actionscript code on its timeline. This app was working on ipad. I just wanted to know whether App Store will approve this.

  • HT1386 Will apps and/or music be erased from iPod if synced to a computer other than orginally used?

Will apps and or/music be erased from iPod if synced to a computer other than original one used?

    Yes. To avoid that:
    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a thrid-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
The computer will now be your syncing computer in the future. Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

  • Server will only serve up one domain

I have a problem where only one domain will be served up from a list of several. Is this a known problem? Is there a way around it? Maybe set up separate ports?
It was all working normally until I tried to enable DAV. Suddenly I can't get the server to go to more than one site. What is wrong?

I think this is a bug. The GUI app refuses to take a nonvalue for the ServerAlias variable, so it assigns a default of wildcard (*). This is entirely messed up, because it means any request can be intercepted by the first domain with a wildcard ServerAlias.
I solved the problem by assigning a dummy value to the variable in every domain, and suddenly Server Admin behaves nicely.

  • Creation of Microsoft Azure Website failed. Cannot move or create server. Subscription ' id ' will exceed server quota.

I'm trying to create a new MVC website with azure cloud server. However, when creating my project/solution in visual studio I get the following error.
Creation of Microsoft Azure Website failed. Cannot move or create server. Subscription '<id>' will exceed server quota.
During the day I created several MVC projects, as a learning exercise, and it worked fine. Now it's failing every time I create a new MVC website with Azure.
Every time I created a website, I have always deleted any generated Azure sites and databases via the management portal. Currently I have no websites in Azure. Thus I don't see how I've reached a quota,
Any ideas what might be going wrong?
My subscription is pay as you go.
    Thanks for your time,
    Rob

    Hi,
It might be due to various other resources (sql DB, application insight, etc) that you may have created while deploying earlier websites, and filled up your Quota. Due to which, creating new resources would exceed the quota limit.
Check for the unused resources and clear them. It may clear the error and allow you to create new websites.
Otherwise, It should be an Account related issue than Technical issue. I suggest you contact Azure support, it is a best choice for you, Please contact support team by creating a support ticket at

  • Will SQL Server work after changing the Machine's SID

I have a base VM which has SQL server and a SharePoint Farm, After changing the SID of the Machine Will SQL Server and SharePoint Work ?

    Hello,
Changing SIDs may cause some Windows functions to fail as mentioned on the following post:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/markrussinovich/archive/2009/11/03/3291024.aspx
Tools like SysPrep that change SIDs are not supported on all SQL Server features:

  • Will Mavericks server ever work with windows 7?

I want to buy a new content server for our small business. Today we use snow leopard server on a Macmini and it is running stable, but we are growing and need to have a faster system and faster diskaccess and I have been looking at a solution with Macmini with thunderbolt pegasus raid. On the paper it looks really interesting, fast and it would be great for our small business! ....BUT.. I have read tons of forums with people having problems with windows compatibility.
We use both Mac and PC in a small environment and the most IMPORTANT thing we need is a shared disk that work flawlessly with both windows and Mac. I do not need lots of other osx server features as mail, ftp, etc etc...
So, Will Maverick server ever work as a content server with windows 7 professional client computers? Or should I go for a windows server (I rather not since I do not like windows)?  Or maybe a NAS-server is a better sollution for content sharing/shared workdisk?

Hi jcar, thanks for writing in!  While the Canon BJC-80 printer will not work with the Windows 7 operating system, we have plenty of printers that are fully compatible! Please feel free to click on the link below to explore some Canon alternatives; we hope this helps!

  • Will Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials - 70A40034US

    will
    Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials - 70A40034US
support and run with windows vista business and vista home premium

    Hi,
    I agree with HILogics,
    Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials server -
Yes, you can join the Vista machines to the domain and its compatible but you won't be able to install the Windows Server Connector software as this isn't supported on either Windows XP or Vista clients.
    See here for confirmation:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/dn408636.aspx
This just means you won't be able to manage the machines through the Essentials Dashboard, it doesn't mean that Vista machines won't be able to log into the network and access shares, etc.

  • Will apple serve me if my phone was purchased at AT

Will apple serve me if my phone was purchased at AT&amp;T?

Don't know about AT&T but, Verizon does handle warranty/support issues for the iPhones they sell. Unlike Apple, though, they don't do same day replacements. Phones are shipped to the customer.

  • Using 2G iPhone as an iPod touch - will apps from App store work?

I know I can use the 2G iPhone strictly as an iPod touch. My question is, will the wi-fi feature allow me to use applications such as Facebook, Mail, etc., that are bundled with the 2g iPhone? When I get my 3GS I would like to use the 2g in this manner.

I also have a question what if I give the old phone to my brother to use as a Ipod touch would that be possible when he would sink up could he add apps under his own account? and will it take all mine off? Also will I be able to transfer all my numbers and apps to the new phone?

  • Will App World ever stop being broken?

Since I received my Playbook, I've attempted to make a purchase via App World on two separate occasions with two different credit cards only to be met with an authorization error each time. Apparently "authorization error" means RIM or Digital River holds a couple of bucks hostage for a week while I get nothing. I even tried to purchase the app through the web browser to see if that would make any difference, but I just get an "unknown error" message whenever I try to log in.
I'm just about ready to give up on this thing, but RIM is apparently getting ready to release a new version of the OS this month. Does anyone know if this update is set to make any improvements at all to the way App World operates? If not, would Playbook OS 2.0 having support for Android Apps mean that I can just use the Android Market and never have to deal with App World again? The Playbook's a nice bit of kit, but without the ability to purchase apps it's basically an oversized MP3 player as far as I'm concerned.

    Hi there Shabby,
You won't be able to get access to the Android Market. Android apps will still be downloaded via App World. That said though, the new OS should bring some App World updates that will hopefully help (unfortunately, what those updates will address is not yet known).
In the meantime though, exactly what authorization error are you getting? With this info, it may be possible to see what else can be tried. Another alternative is to try setting up a PayPal account and then just put your payments through via PayPal.

  • You sell an older iphone; will apps transfer over to a new user?

You sell your iphone 4; to someone; who presumably registers it as their own; will the 300 apps you have on it transfer over to the new user?

Yes, if you set up the new phone to the same Apple ID and iTunes account you used to purchase the apps.  Your content is tied to your account and Apple ID, not the device.
The easiest thing to do is to back up the old phone before you sell it.  When you first connect the new phone to iTunes, choose to restore from backup.  You new phone will be nearly the same as your old phone (it may not put everything on there perfectly - I've had some folders messed up and had to re-organize some apps, but nothing really major).

  • Will app data update between devices?

I just got my new Ipad.  I have an Iphone4.  I got the apps installed on my new Ipad that I wanted.  My question is now using these apps. I have a diet app that logs my food intake and such.  If I use and update this on my iphone will that updated info get pushed to that app on my Ipad and vice versa? And what about game data?  Seems I have to start over on levels in my games.
Im also a bit confused about the icloud backup and tried doing the Itunes wi-fi sync which never worked.  I still had to connect with the cable in order to sync even though the box to sync to wi-fi was checked.

This is the way that I understand iCloud syncing to work.
App data from apps that support iCloud will update on all devices. For example, the Apple iWorks apps, Pages, Numbers and Keynote will update across iDevices. App developers have to make their apps "iCloud ready" in order for the seamless syncing of app data. Calendars, bookmarks, Notes, Reminders will sync currently as well. Your game is not "iCloud ready" at this point - is my assumption.
As far as the wireless sync is concerned, sync again with the cable and then after you sync, select the Wifi option in the summary tab of iTunes and then click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes and then see if you can sync via WiFi.

  • Will app sizes increase across the board because of the new iPad?

After the release of the new iPad on Wednesday, most apps figure to update their capabilities accommodate the new iPad's boosted resolution. And it appears that this process will result in an appreciable — if not significant — increase in app size. For example, Apple's Find My Friends app has gone from 14MB to 18MB in an update optimized for the new iPad Retina display. GarageBand went from 768MB to 801MB. Obviously, for users who download lots of apps (like me), these app size increases represent a strong argument against purchasing a new iPad with the minimum capacity of 16GB. What do you think?

People seem to be focusing on the size creep in apps, however, this is likely to be functionality driven more than due to the display for most apps. The real driver that I have found wrt storage space is videos. Now with the new display it is likely that people will move more to HD videos from iTunes, etc.. and this will be what drives the increase in storage required.
If your photos are compressed JPEGs then what you'll have to think about is how many videos you want to carry. There is also the possibility that with the new screen resolution that people start to store pictures at higher resolutions also which might drive storage.
Either way HD is a canny move by Apple as it will ultimately drive revenue growth through iTunes ;-)
