Will Apple exchange my ipod?

Hi -
I bought my ipod when it first came out last Christmas. Needless to say...unaware of how easy it scratches..mine had scratches on it after the first day..
I bought it less than 1 yr ago..and haven't used it more than 3 times in fear of scratching it more...I'm just now starting to use it again..I have a cover on it now, but there is a big scratch on the screen that really bothers me.
I asked the manager at the Apple store a two weeks after I bought it, complained and asked what I can do..he said he didn't know and told me to get Ice Cream ??! Some type of solution..and said it will fix it..I just read on other forums some apple stores offered to exchange it (I wish I knew this 7-9 months ago......... instead of being told to get ice cream..) Will they still do that? Or is it too late..
Please help :)

Apple was repairing/replacing some Nanos with faulty displays, but I don't believe they were doing anything for scratches. While you may have only used your Nano three times in the past year, Apple will likely consider this normal wear and tear. To be honest, my Nano is scratched up pretty heavily. After the firt few, I just didn't care anymore. I don't put it in a case... I just wrap the headphones around it and stick it in my pocket. I've also dropped it a bunch of times. It might not look great... but it works the same as it did the day I got it (I wish I could say the same for my new, randomly pausing, Nano). I would just use your Nano and be happy with it doing what it's supposed to do.

  • Will Apple exchange my iPod touch 4g with a new one if my current one is deffective

Ok so, I got my iPod touch 4g (white) on June 19th after i made a bet with my moms boyfriend to not drink pop for a year
So when I opened the iPod, it wouldnt connect to wi-fi. Guys, dont ask me to reset network settings or anything, because..
IVE TRIED E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G, but nothing has worked. So I called Apple and the guy on the phone said to go and make
an appointment at the Genius Bar, so i did, for 1:30pm today.
So my question is: Since the guy told me it's probably a deffective product, will Apple exchange my current iPod
for a new one? (my current one has no scratches, still has the headphones & charger, with the manuals, the box, stickers & everything)
    Thank youu

what do you mean by a refurbished one?
Like a used one?? But what if i return the whole packaging (i kept the manuals & stuff, like everything )
Could the person at the Genius Bar then give me a new one if I return the whole packaging ?
Lol sorry for all the questions, I'm just really worried :/

  • Will Apple replace my Ipod Touch 5g, Even if its over a year old?

I have an iPod touch 5g, which i bought in January of 2013. This iPod has been malfunctioning for a couple of days now. I connect it to a power source since it indicates its low on battery. When I do, it turns on, however, it will not charge much and the battery will continue to be red on the top right hand corner of the screen. I have an app which helps indicate around how much battery the iPod has. This app says that the iPod never charges past 15% and if i disconnect it, it shuts down. If the problem is in the battery, and it's a hardware problem, will Apple replace my iPod? Can they still do it? It is over a year old, but after all, i paid for a product that would last longer than a year and a half, didn't I?

You no longer have warranty coverage. Whatever Apple will do you will have to pay for it since it is out of warranty.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.

  • Will apple repair my ipod classic 80g with video?

I got my ipod classic 80g in 2006.  I used it for a couple years and was very satisfied.  It was in a backpack that was tossed carelessly, and then stopped working.  The screen does not display anything except for some black lines.  The physical casing is not broken however.  When I plug it into a computer, I can hear the harddrive spinning, but itunes won't recognize it, and it won't show up as a device on my computer.  I have waited so long to inquire about a repair because I have replaced it a couple of times with other ipods.  I would really like to have this one repaired as I don't have an ipod curretently. And, instead of buying a new ipod classic, I would like to have this one repaired.  I read that it would cost $129 to repair this ipod.
I would like to know however, if I spend $129 will apple repair my ipod for sure?  If it is deemed unrepairable, will I get a replacement?  Or will they refund my money?
Thanks for reading and giving your time.

Apple doesn't actually repair iPod, but does an out of warranty exchange of it for a refurbished model of the same generation and capacity.
And it will cost $129 according to this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&viewlocale=en_US&geo=United_St ates&product=ipod&select=REPAIR_PRICING

Apple does not take trade-ins. You'll have to look for a dealer that does, though you'll probably get more for the iPad 1 if you sell it yourself.

  • Will apple replace lost ipods?

    will apple replace lost ipods?

"Isn't there a way for Apple to track the lost ipod's serial number"
    No.
"they wouldnt be able to tell me because the registry is confidential, how is that fair"
Very fair indeed. Notice the word "confidential"? Do you want Apple to give to anyone the personal details details contained on their data base? Including yours? Supposing I were to make a malicious call to Apple to report that the iPod you rightfully own was stolen from me and they gave me all your personal details. Would you be happy with that that? I suspect not. Supposing they then made use of the serial number to block the use of the iPod on your computer every time you connected it? Happy with that? No, me either. That kind of system would be open to all kinds of abuse. And what about the 1000's of stolen iPods that must find their way on to eBay every year? Should Apple track those also?
"Apple should really find a solution to the problem of lost ipods"
There's a very easy solution. Don't lose it. You really think that Apple has nothing better to do than keep track of lost/stolen iPods? That's the job of law enforcement, not Apple.
I do sympathize with your loss, and know how upset you must be, but it is unreasonable to lay the blame at Apple's door. If you report the loss to the Police, and they recover it, then Apple will liaise with them to return it to it's rightful owner. That is all you can rightfully expect.
